In the Hall of Worship, Bibi Dong went straight to the point and dragged Guang Ling out with a grin, rubbing her hands together as she looked at him playfully.
"Senior Guang Ling, won't you please tell me what my Master's eighth trial is?"
Guang Ling raised an eyebrow, lips curling into a smug smirk. "Oh? Weren't you acting all high and mighty earlier?"
"Hehe, that was just me fooling around~"
With a mischievous glint in her eyes, Bibi Dong circled behind him and placed both hands on his shoulders, giving a little massage to curry favor. "I know how generous you are, Senior Guang Ling. You'd never hold a grudge over something like that, right? Come on, just tell me."
As she spoke, she didn't forget to throw desperate glances at Gu Han, who was watching with a helpless expression.
Gu Han chuckled and said, "Senior Guang Ling, if you tell us what our Master's divine trial is, we'll formally ask you to be our guardian on all our future missions."
Guang Ling's eyes lit up immediately. "Now that's a sensible young man."
"It's actually nothing too surprising. Your Master's eighth trial is to have a child with your Master's wife, and once that child awakens the Seraphim Martial Soul at the age of six, the trial will be complete. So yeah, it takes time."
"Doing the math… Even if they started now, it'd take nine months of pregnancy and six years of growth—so at least seven years total."
"So that's why Master never wanted to talk about it."
Gu Han nodded slightly. That made perfect sense now. But still, this eighth trial… really something else. Was the divine realm worried about the extinction of the Seraphim bloodline?
Come to think of it, it kind of tracked. He was even starting to suspect that Qian Daoliu only fathered Qian Xunji because of his own divine trial.
"Pfft—so Master's eighth trial is that, huh? That means… we'll have a little junior brother or sister soon!"
Bibi Dong covered her mouth, giggling mischievously but also a little expectantly. Master was so good-looking—surely any child they had would be just as beautiful.
Getting more excited, Bibi Dong tugged on Gu Han's sleeve and asked, "Hey, hey, what do you think, will it be a boy or a girl?"
Gu Han thought for a moment and replied with a smile, "I think… a girl."
"Why?" Bibi Dong asked.
Guang Ling looked equally puzzled. "Yeah, why's that?"
After all, nearly every Angel Douluo in history had only one male heir. It was rare for a girl to be born into the line.
Gu Han shrugged. "Just a hunch."
Bibi Dong and Guang Ling both rolled their eyes at him.
Then Guang Ling broke into a grin unique to someone just looking for fun. "I've got an idea—how about we place a little bet? If it's a girl, you win, and I'll help you hunt any soul beast you want, no conditions attached."
"But if it's a boy, you have to turn all those crazy stories in your head into books. Minimum ten thousand words a day."
"I'm in!" Bibi Dong answered before Gu Han could, clearly eager. After all, she'd been wanting her junior brother to write those fun stories down for a while now.
Sure, she could just pester him to tell her stories anytime. But if they were in book form, she could revisit them anytime she wanted. Especially the stories about Sun Wukong—those were her favorites. She never got tired of them.
"Alright, deal," Gu Han said with a smile. He didn't mind. Writing after cultivation helped calm his spirit, and he did enjoy calligraphy.
Besides, he had no intention of losing. Guang Ling, that convenient and free powerhouse, was as good as his already.
"But enough about that—come on, let's head to Heaven Dou City. Honestly, if it weren't for the Grand Worshiper, I would've gone to watch the excitement a long time ago."
Guang Ling didn't argue. Staying cooped up in the Hall of Worship day after day was driving him stir-crazy. He'd been itching to get out, but as a Worship Elder, he couldn't leave Spirit City freely.
Now though, protecting the Pope's disciples gave him a perfect excuse. Without even asking their opinion, he grabbed one in each hand and took off into the sky.

Heaven Dou City
Guang Ling walked ahead with his hands behind his back, Gu Han and Bibi Dong following behind. Due to Guang Ling's small stature, passersby assumed Gu Han and Bibi Dong were the adults in charge.
They quickly found the Spirit Hall team's lodging. As expected, Lingyuan was busy deciding the lineup for the next match. In their previous bout against Godwind Academy, Wang Bo had been injured, so their new main attacker was Dugu Xin.
Now that the toxin in his body had been completely resolved, Dugu Xin's cultivation had been improving rapidly. He had already reached Level 49—a high-ranking Soul Ancestor, and quite powerful.
Spirit Hall had been saving him as their trump card, but given the current situation, they had no choice but to deploy him early.
Knock knock knock!
Hearing the knock, Lingyuan paused, seemingly sensing something. After a brief moment of surprise, she nodded and motioned for the door to be opened.
"Senior Guang Ling?"
"Your Highness?"
"Brother Gu? What are you doing here?"
Even Dugu Xin looked baffled. Weren't these two uninterested in the tournament?
But what surprised him most was the presence of Worship Elder Guang Ling. Wasn't he supposed to be in the Hall of Worship?
"Well, since we're here, we might as well come in and sit," Lingyuan said.
Seeing it really was those three, Lingyuan understood instantly. Though their visit was unexpected, it wasn't too shocking. Everyone knew Guang Ling loved to have fun and stick his nose into anything lively. Most likely, he had used Dong'er and Gu Han as excuses to sneak away.
So with this group, it was no surprise at all.
"We're obviously here to cheer you on, of course," Guang Ling said, pretending to be deep and mysterious as he strolled over to the couch and sat down, crossing his legs with flair. His gaze settled on Lingyuan. "So, how's the tournament going?"
After greeting Lingyuan, Gu Han and Bibi Dong also took a seat.
Lingyuan took a small sip of tea, moistened her lips, and began calmly explaining the current state of affairs.
"We've entered the semifinals. The four remaining teams are: Spirit Hall, Skywater Academy, Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, and Wind Sword Academy."
"Star Luo didn't make the cut?"
Gu Han was surprised. Historically, Star Luo's royal team had always been a top contender. For them not to make the semifinals was unexpected.
"They faced us in the round of sixteen and were eliminated early."
Wang Bo explained from the side. He was now a Level 41 Soul Ancestor, and thanks to his Martial Soul's immense firepower, they have a reliable primary offensive force until recently.
"I see."
Gu Han nodded. Normally, Spirit Hall, Star Luo, and Heaven Dou's top teams were given a bye to the final stages. But this year was different—Spirit Hall had refused the automatic promotion, and in a show of sportsmanship, Star Luo and Heaven Dou had followed suit.
While Heaven Dou had a relatively smooth path, Star Luo was less fortunate. They ran into Spirit Hall early and were completely wiped out. With their main lineup incapacitated, they had no chance in the revival round either.
