Chapter 2 - CHAPTER- 1

n this world, vampires, werewolves, and humans live in constant hatred. Centuries of war, betrayal, and fear built walls between them that no one dares to tear down. Each species is different, their strengths and weaknesses making it impossible for peace to last.

Vampires are unbelievably strong, moving faster than the eye can see. Their pale, flawless skin shines in the sunlight—if they dare to step into it. But the royal families are the ones everyone fears most, blessed with abilities like mind control, fire, and even seeing glimpses of the future. Their glowing red eyes burn with power, a warning to anyone foolish enough to challenge them.

Werewolves are the opposite—wild, untamed, and fast. They can transform in an instant, their bodies rippling as they shift from human to huge wolf. Their strength comes from their instincts, their sharp eyes and noses making them unmatched trackers. And when they shift, their purple eyes glow like an amethyst moon, a sign they're not to be messed with.

Humans, though, seem weak by comparison. No speed, no strength, no abilities. But they're clever, resourceful. Hunters, in particular, are dangerous—armed with silver blades that burn through vampire and werewolf flesh like fire. These weapons are the reason humans haven't been wiped out.

Verena, the werewolf princess, knew this world well. And yet, here she is, walking in a human village. The cobblestone streets are uneven beneath her boots as she moves quietly, avoiding notice. The scents of bread, iron, and sweat fill the air, but she doesn't pay them much attention.

her hood is pulled low, hiding the violet eyes that would give her away. Humans don't take kindly to strangers, especially not ones like her. If someone saw, if a hunter noticed...she shook away the thought, walking through the village bustled with life

But there was a grim secret. She was no werewolf, the royal family's only fault. All her brothers and sisters had wolfed out. She only had the purple eyes, and those sharp senses. She couldn't wolf out and was practically a human with some unusual powers. According to her mother, she was the only werewolf in the royal history who couldn't turn into a wolf, a pathetic creature.

Verana POV:

Don't let them see that they get to you. that was all I could do, given how helpless I was. I stopped thinking depressing thoughts as I walked on, deeper into the village and closer to the woods

As I walked through the village, I caught glimpses of people, laughing and talking amongst themselves. It's odd, how they seem content with their lives. How they don't feel the fear that always hangs over my head. To them, this is normal, the way life should be.

Suddenly, a girl walks out of the bakery, carrying a small basket. I didn't think much of it until her eyes found mine. She stares, but instead of being afraid, she looks curious, stepping closer.

I quickly start walking away, my pace becoming faster. I was in no mood to alert the villagers and have them coming for my neck. The girl follows behind, just a few steps back
