In theory, "easy" school jobs only exist for connections—positions designed for someone's relative to collect a paycheck. Ordinary people, no matter how qualified, rarely get those chances.
Fortunately, gods and demigods didn't have to play by ordinary rules.
Rossweisse—technically a demigod as a Valkyrie—passed an "interview" that lasted under thirty seconds and walked out employed as Saikai Academy's librarian.
Nine-to-five schedule. Weekends off. Full holiday benefits. A salary comfortably within Tokyo's middle-class bracket.
Bokue didn't know what Odin had paid her in Valhalla, but based on Rossweisse's reaction, the library job somehow paid more than serving as a bodyguard for that "old bastard."
…Better not to think too hard about it.
Scene shift.
After Rossweisse finished the paperwork, Bokue escorted her to the library, then headed straight for yesterday's battlefield: the infirmary—where he and Hasegawa Chisato had gotten… extremely intense.
By the time he reached the infirmary corridor, lunch hour was in full swing, but the hallway was oddly empty. No students in sight, front or back. Quiet enough to feel abandoned.
He pushed the infirmary door open—and paused.
The room had changed. Where there had been one desk yesterday, there were now two, set facing each other along the windows. Each desk held a computer, giving the place the look of an old internet café—clean, functional, and strangely domestic.
Raphaeline sat at the desk opposite Chisato, no longer in armor but dressed like a modern office worker. One hand gripped the mouse, the other tapped the keyboard. She leaned forward slightly, eyes locked on the screen with fierce concentration.
Behind her, Chisato stood patiently, giving hands-on instruction.
The door opening made Chisato pause. She looked over—and smiled warmly when she saw Bokue.
"Bokue, you're here."
"Uh… yeah."
Bokue watched Raphaeline's careful mouse movements with genuine curiosity.
"Chisato," he asked, "are you teaching Raphaeline how to use a computer?"
"Yes," Chisato said, smiling. "Nee-san officially started work today. We're working together in the infirmary, so she needs the basics."
Raphaeline spoke without looking away from the monitor, tone calm and confident.
"It isn't difficult. Divine races adapt quickly to human tools. Besides, modern computers are designed to be simple. A little guidance is enough."
She straightened, then Chisato moved toward Bokue with an easy familiarity—arms sliding around his waist, her body pressing lightly to his chest as she inhaled.
"Mmm~ Another woman's scent," she murmured, playful and sharp. "You 'finished' somewhere else before coming?"
"It's not like that," Bokue said flatly.
He understood exactly what she meant. In response, his hands went to her back and gave her hip a light swat through her coat—a familiar, teasing correction.
The truth was simple: he'd just handled Rossweisse's hiring, escorted her to the library, and came straight here. The "scent" was nothing more than a clingy goodbye hug from a newly stabilized Valkyrie.
(Though, Bokue admitted to himself, the idea of getting up to something in a quiet library was… not impossible. The first four morning periods barely had any visitors.)
While Bokue's thoughts wandered, Chisato had already taken his hand and turned her head toward Raphaeline, who was once again absorbed in the screen.
"Nee-san, keep practicing on your own," Chisato said brightly. "Bokue and I have… a few things to discuss."
"Mm-hm. Understood," Raphaeline answered automatically, eyes never leaving the monitor.
Chisato guided Bokue toward the back rest area.
A short while later, Raphaeline—still seated at her desk—suddenly heard a sound from behind that made her freeze.
A familiar voice. Her sister's voice.
"…Bokue… mm… incredible…"
Raphaeline stopped moving entirely.
A massive exclamation mark might as well have appeared above her head. Heat rushed to her cheeks in a heartbeat.
Those two…!

Meanwhile, at Keystone Gate's top-floor penthouse—where Naruse Mio and the others lived—
Despite the lazy afternoon, Lady Sheila was busy.
Not "elegant and composed" busy.
She was sprawled on the floor outside her daughter's bedroom door, posture completely undignified, like someone hunting cockroaches. Pale purple nightmare magic glowed at her fingertips as she traced intricate patterns across the floor—quietly, carefully, like she was laying a trap.
At that moment, the nearby bathroom door opened.
Sapphire stepped out, hair damp, wrapped in towels. She stared at the scene and visibly flinched.
"Sheila-neesan… what are you doing?!"
After Loki's campaign ended, Sheila had brought Sapphire to Itogami Island. Sapphire had lived at Keystone Gate for several days now. The first transition between worlds had been rough—but she was slowly adapting to a safe, leisurely rhythm.
Bath. Change. Nap.
That was how afternoons were supposed to go.
Not… whatever this was.
"I'm making preparations," Sheila said sweetly, sitting up into a neat, almost doll-like posture. She turned her head, smiling with unsettling innocence. "That's the simplest way to put it."
Sapphire's eyes narrowed.
"…I'm watching you draw a nightmare magic array on the floor, Sheila-neesan."
"That's also accurate," Sheila agreed cheerfully.
She glanced down at the nearly completed pattern, then smiled wider.
"This time, I'm planning to tell Maria about Bokue-kun and me… in a gentler way."
Sapphire stared.
So this "gentle method" was… forcing someone into an intense dream the moment they slept?
That felt… questionable.
After a second of silent judgment, Sapphire decided she wanted no part of it.
"Forget it. I'm not asking anymore," Sapphire said flatly. "Do whatever you want."
"Mmm-hm!" Sheila chirped.
Sapphire walked toward her room.
As she disappeared, Sheila tapped a finger thoughtfully at the corner of her mouth, eyes bright with mischief.
"Speaking of doing whatever I want…" she murmured. "Mmm… I should draw one for Sapphire too~"
