Jinhai and Ruoxue immediately lunged at the Harbingers who stood in place silently.
Jinhai slashed at one of them but the man just shattered into pieces of glass that fell to the ground before regrouping almost immediately back into the harbinger.
"Nice trick."
Jinhai muttered under his breath—he was immediately surrounded by four of the harbingers, each one of them grinning at him with blank white eyes.
Ruoxue was also surrounded by the two remaining harbingers—their face contorted into the same fashion as the others.
There was a moment of silence, all of them stood still—waiting for the other to make the first move. The wind blew past them all, the smell of blood getting stronger and stronger before Jinhai jumped at one of them.
He kicked a harbinger away towards Ruoxue who instantly readied an arrow, shooting it straight into the harbinger's face but again, the man just broke into pieces and joined back together.
One of the harbingers, a sort and dainty man lunged at Jinhai—blades shaped like crescents sprouted from his elbows, cutting through his own skin and flesh as he swung his arm at Jinahi.
Jinhai's eyes narrowed before he ducked below the blade, tackling the man to the ground before stabbing him in the face but before he could rearrange himself.
Jinhai slashed all of the bits and pieces of glass into a fine powder, surprising the other harbingers who paused in their fighting to see their comrade now nothing but glass powder.
"Try and heal from that."
Jinhai smirked slightly—but the smirk immediately fell off his face as he saw the powder slowly melt.
It melted into a silvery and shiny liquid that reflected the moon above as it slowly spiraled up back into the harbinger who was now staring at Jinhai with a frown.
"Ow... You hurt me. That was close."
The other harbingers slowly started laughing maniacally—their laughter making Jinhai frown slightly as he took a few steps back.
"You're Qin Tingguang right? You're at the Soul Accumulation realm... Why are you under Wanmei?"
Ruoxue asked calmly, unperturbed by the laughter and the menace that weighed down the air itself.
"Oh.. Well.. He's my sav-"
Tingguang was immediately cut off by Jinhai who kneed him in the face, sending him stumbling back—the knee was immediately followed up by a brilliant and bright wave of golden flames by Jinhai.
The other harbingers also joined the fray, jumping at Jinhai, each having their own blades protruding from other parts of their body—some had them on their hands, some on their knees and on their palms.
Ruoxue released a barrage of arrows towards them, catching a few of their attention as three went to deal with him while two fought Jinhai who was keeping up with them with ease.
"You guys aren't that strong, nor are you that durable. You're just annoying to deal with. Only that Tingguang guy is strong.."
Jinhai muttered under his breath as he punched one of his opponents in the neck, and just like before the man shattered and reformed.
One of the harbingers facing him got onto all four—but before he could lunge Jinhai kicked him in the face with a flaming golden leg.
Jinhai narrowed his eyes in realization—seeing the harbinger scramble as a portion of its face melted into molten glass that dripped down to his cloak, burning it—making it catch on flames.
"Ruoxue! Try to melt them!"
Jinhai yelled out as he grabbed the harbinger by the face and opened his mouth wide, a ball of golden—swirling flames gathering as a focused beam of flames came out.
The harbinger yelled in pain—the others watching silently while Tiangguang smirked wildly staring at the flames—despite having no eyes everyone knew he was enjoying seeing his ally getting destroyed.
Jinhai took a step back, looking down at the spot where the harbinger once stood—now his glass body was nothing else except vaporized glass floating around in the air.
"Alright you little bastards. You all are dead now."
The harbingers were frozen in place but before they could even do anything to Jinhai—they were struck by Ruoxue's arrow once more—but they were much, much stronger.
The arrows not only froze their whole body, they froze their blood—their organs, their nervous system, they were now nothing except sentient statues that could see and hear but not talk or walk.
"Jinshen was pretty lucky we were surprised and unprepared... Or else he might have seriously died."
Jinhai nodded, rolling his shoulders while looking at Tiangguang with a mockingly warm smile spread across his face.
"Yeah. But lets not linger on the past. We got someone else to deal with."
Tiangguang opened up his arms, a smirk on his face as both of his arms turned into large blades that reflected the dim moonlight into Jinhai's face, making him close them for just a moment.
Tiangguang took the opportunity and dashed towards him—blade aimed at Jinhai's neck but Ruoxue shot a few arrows at him, sending him flying through a wall like a cannonball.
"Ow!"
Tiangguang exclaimed in a mix of pain and enjoyment as he slowly stood up from the ground, more and more crescent shaped blades sprouting from across his body—Tiangguang let out a loud, animalistic shrill into the night.
"Ruoxue.. Won't it be funny if he just turned into a whole damn sword?"
Jinhai whispered towards Ruoxue who took a deep breath, hiding his amusement before readying his arrow.
"Yeah.. But that isn't possible. Anyways, I'm thinking about naming the new technique Frostbitten Arrow Of The Soul, how is that-"
Ruoxue was interrupted as Tiangguang jumped at him, whole body having sharp white blades protruding through his bloody skin—which was now dyed crimson red.
He cut through Ruoxue's robe, and even landed a few solid slashes across his chest and arms but he was attacked by Jinhai who threw a flaming spear at him.
"Demonic Ruling."
Jinhai muttered under his breath as a flurry of flaming spears came flying towards Tiangguang who continued yelling and wailing, slowly but surely getting melted by them.
Ruoxue sighed deeply—pulling his bow's string as a small white and orange arrow formed inside
"Frostbitten Arrow Of The Soul."
that hit the Tiangguang square on the forehead.
His body froze over as he became a statue as well, body frozen solid like a cube of ice that would never melt.
"Wow.. Way to show off Jinhai..."
Ruoxue smirked dryly, putting his bow on his waist as his hair and eyes turned back to their normal color—Jinhai gave a smug grin back to Ruoxue, his body also reverting to normal.
"Yeah yeah.. That was payback for getting the Demonic Prince of Heaven state before me.."
Ruoxue shrugged slightly—but before their banter could continue, he immediately turned around—there Tiangguang was just behind him, blade ready to stab through Ruoxue's chest.
But—Tiangguang was immediately shattered into frozen pieces by a glowing blue kick from none other then Jinshen Zhe himself who stared at Ruoxue and Jinhai with cold—unfeeling eyes.
"Hello. Both of you."
Ruoxue and Jinahi paused, narrowing their eyes at Jinshen who was standing quite calmly in front of his friends turned enemies.
"Well... Strange to see you here, Jinshen."
Jinhai mumbled in reply to Jinshen, his hands gripping his daggers so tightly that the skin was now turning white but Ruoxue put a small, reassuring hand on Jinhai's shoulder.
"Why are you here Jinshen?"
