Chapter 3: Awakening
When Mark opened his eyes, a rush of memories flooded his mind. He was in the body of a teenager, a young Viltrumite named Mark , yes the same name as him , who died due to the attack of scurge virus and now he was in his body .
Extraordinarily he was alive now
He remembered the Invincible comics, the story his friend had urged him to read because of his same name as the comics MC.
He felt the raw power of his new body, a strength far exceeding his human form , but checking his memories he felt it was far less than before not even 1/4 of what it was , probably due to the scurge virus .
A cold sweat broke out as he recalled the massacre which will happen in near future , the brutal culling of half the Viltrumite population where only strongest will survive and according to the comics memory only half will survive , he felt his chance of surviving was infinitely close to zero
He cried internally, the fear of his own demise and a chilling weight. After half an hour of internal conflict, he steeled himself. I will survive, he vowed. I will surely enjoy this new life.
His awakening was noticed. Viltrumite doctors swarmed him, their expressions a mix of clinical curiosity and astonishment. They ran scans, took readings, their voices low and guttural. "He's fully revived," one of them said, their tone laced with disbelief.
"The youngest survivor," another added, their eyes fixed on the data. They continued their examinations, their focus was intense. Mark remained silent, observing, trying to process his new reality. He felt the cold touch of their instruments, the hum of their technology. He knew, with a certainty that chilled him to the bone, that his survival was more than just luck , but scientists found nothing, they stated it as a miracle , he was discharged after a day and was sent to his home.
