"Where's Sasuke?" Shizuka, who had stayed the night at the Uzumaki Compound, curiously asked as she did not find the Uchiha at the gate of the District.
"He left early." Karin stretched her limbs and back, and Enma yawned, having been up since 4 am and training.
"And we are late." The Nakagami reminded them.
There was only an hour left before noon, and they had to submit their forms fast.
"Let's go," Karin nodded to her friend and then rushed towards the Academy, and the two quickly followed her.
It only took them a few minutes to reach their destination, and since it was a day off for the students, the place seemed a little desolate.
Karin and Enma, however, could sense a lot of people in a classroom, and dozens of powerful Shinobi from different villages were keeping an eye on everything around the Academy.
The two glanced at each other when they sensed Lee and Sasuke fighting each other, but as it did not seem anything serious, they went to the front desks and submitted their forms, which were quickly approved given that their Sensei and the Hokage had already signed them.
"Please head to Classroom 301." The Chunin at the desk instructed them.
When they started walking towards the classroom, they sensed Guy-sensei interrupt the fight between Sasuke and Lee, and then Team 7 started walking towards Classroom 301 as well.
The three of them chuckled when they sensed two Chunins, whom they were very familiar with, attempt to use Genjutsu on them, but they passed right through it and kept walking towards the third floor.
When they entered the hallway, they saw Team 7 entering the room after having a chat with Kakashi, who glanced their way, waved his hand, and disappeared.
"Let's just stay here. I am not interested in entering that room with all those people. We will attract too much attention." Karin suggested, especially after they sensed the commotion their fellow Rookies were creating.
The three of them leaned against the wall by the side of the door, and listened to everything that was transpiring in the room.
"Show me the information on Gaara of the Desert and Rock Lee of Konoha." Sasuke asked the other Konoha Genin, who was their senior, and claimed to possess a lot of information on people taking part in the Exams.
The two Uzumaki glanced at each other as they could see that he was not Genin. He was comparable to some of the finest Jonins of the Village, and so they guessed that he was probably disguised as a Genin to keep an eye on everyone.
"Gaara of the Desert. Youngest son of the Kazekage. He is in a team with his older sister and older brother." The young man named Kabuto read and showed them the card. "Their team is called Team Sand Siblings or Team Gaara. Their Jonin is Baki, widely considered one of the most dangerous and capable Shinobi in the world. And they have completed 0 D-Rank Missions, 10 C-Rank Missions, 14 B-Rank Missions, and 3 A-Rank Missions..."
"A and B Rank Missions as Genins?!" Kiba loudly exclaimed in shock, but instantly tensed up when he sensed dozens of eyes angrily lock on him.
"Yes, and you know what's interesting?"
"What?"
"Gaara has never been injured in any of those missions." Kabuto lightly smiled, and everyone tensed up and secretly glanced towards the auburn-haired boy, who was sitting on a table, at the other end of the classroom with his siblings.
The Inuzuka fearfully gulped the air, and then watched the young man take out Rock Lee's card.
"Member of the Konoha Team 3, led by the Noble Green Beast of Konoha, Might Guy. Rock Lee is not known to use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, he seems like a Shinobi only focused on Taijutsu. With his team, they have completed 40 D-Rank Missions, 20 C-Rank Missions, 2 B-Rank Missions, and 1 A-Rank Mission..."
Sasuke clenched his fists tightly, and Naruto and Sakura became nervous as well.
Another Genin team who had completed B and A Rank Missions...
Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji wisely kept quiet, and the smile Kabuto gave them was very meaningful.
"So, do you want information about any other Genin?" The grey-haired young man lightly asked.
Everyone stayed quiet, but suddenly, the person they least expected to speak stepped forward.
It was Sakura.
"Show us the information on Uzumaki Enma."
Kabuto curiously looked at her.
"Isn't he your classmate? You are all part of Rookie 12."
"I don't know much about him and his team after they graduated." She clenched her fists and said, and all of them weirdly looked at her.
"Very well." Kabuto waved his hand and picked out a card from the deck.
He flowed his chakra into it to reveal the information about the person she had asked for.
"Uzumaki Enma, son of the Red Storm Kazuma. Almost 14 years old, and joined the Ninja Academy a year late with his younger half-sister, Uzumaki Karin. He graduated with the perfect score... He is part of Team 5, with his little sister and Nakagami Shizuka. Their Sensei is Mitarashi Anko. So far, in the last six months, they have completed 40 D-Rank Missions, 0 C-Rank Missions, 0 B-Rank Missions, 4 A-Rank Missions, and... 2 S-Rank Missions...." He frowned as he read the information, and the classroom turned deathly quiet.
Sakura's face went pale, and Naruto too gulped in fear.
"S-Rank...?" He nervously asked.
"Yes," The bespectacled young man nodded his head.
"Uzumaki Enma is known to possess his Clan's Bloodline Limit, the Chakra Chains, and is also known to be able to use the Uzumaki Clan's Hidden Technique, the Mind's Eye of Kagura. What's interesting is that he can seemingly use it all the time. He is also known to be very proficient in Lightning, Water..."
"Enough!" Sasuke and Ino spoke at the same time, and the Uchiha snatched the card from Kabuto's hand.
"We are from the same Village." The Yamanaka angrily said, reminding him that he was speaking too much, and the grey-haired young man apologetically smiled.
"My apologies, I was just a little too intrigued by the information." He said and then changed the subject as he gave them details about the villages and the total number of teams participating in the Chunin Exams this session.
Karin, who was using the Mind's Eye of Kagura to keep an eye on everything, opened her eyes and glanced at her brother.
"He knows too much. Such information shouldn't be available to a 'Genin' or even a Jonin who isn't assigned to our team or close to the Hokage," she meaningfully said.
"Yeah. There's something strange about him," Enma agreed and nodded his head.
The three of them chuckled when Naruto declared war on all the teams inside the classroom. Not a wise thing to do, but very expected of him.
Shizuka kept listening even after Karin stopped paying attention, but then she too lost interest, especially after the Sound Genins roughed Kabuto up a little.
"It's time." Enma said when there were five minutes left before noon, and all three of them opened the door and entered the classroom.
As expected, there were a lot of eyes on them, and the two girls patiently followed the Uzumaki Heir as he made his way to a table, where the Genins sitting there immediately vacated it.
Before their friends could approach them, several figures suddenly appeared in the classroom, headed by a tall man wearing a black overcoat and a black bandana on his head with his Forehead Protector in front.
"Sorry to keep you all waiting. My name is Morino Ibiki, and I am your Proctor for the First Test of the Chunin Exam."
Everyone paid attention to him and his team of invigilators, and then attentively listened to his next words.
"I will not repeat it again, so keep in mind that if you create any fuss and disturb the test, you will be disqualified. If you start any fights without the permission of the Proctors, you will be disqualified. If you squirts piss me off... you will be disqualified." He smirked.
Everyone in the room remained solemnly quiet, and he appreciatively nodded his head.
"Alright then, step forward one by one and submit the token that you received at the front desk. My team will hand out to you a new token with your seat number, and you must remain silent as you take your seats for the Written Exam..."
As soon as Naruto heard what test it was and saw the papers in the hands of one of the invigilators, he blanked out.
"Written test... written test..." Tears streamed out of his eyes, and both Sasuke and Sakura already lost hope that he would pass.
However, when they heard the rules of the test after taking their seats, they despaired as well.
"There are several important rules that you must keep in mind for this test." Ibiki picked up the chalk and started working on the board. "I will not take any questions, so listen well..."
"First rule: You are all given 10 points each from the start. The Written Test has ten problems that you must solve. By solving each problem, you will be awarded one point each. However, remember that this test has a point deduction system. Two points will be deducted for a wrong answer. Get a zero or score in minus, and you are out!"
"Second rule: The results will be determined by the total points of the team."
"W-wait a minute..." Sakura was about to complain when Ibiki coldly looked at her and shut her up.
"Third rule: If you are caught cheating by the sentinels, two points will be deducted for each attempt. And getting caught five times will get you and your team disqualified."
Seeing that they all had understood the rules, he smiled.
"If you aspire to become a Chunin, then act like an exemplary Shinobi." He smiled. "And remember, if you get a zero or score in minus, your teammates will fail as well, regardless of their results."
All of the Genins looked at him in shock, and their Proctor smirked at their reactions.
"The tenth question will be given to you 45 minutes after the start of the test. Your total time is 60 minutes. Start!"
Karin stayed calm as she read the questions, and then she waited for her brother to make the move.
She had immediately understood that their information gathering skills were going to be tested here. There was no way a Genin would know the answers to these questions. Even some Jonins might not know them.
Shizuka too stayed calm after she glanced at her friend and found her smiling.
Enma did not bother reading the paper. The first reason was that he could not see, which meant that he could not read it anyway.
He paid close attention to everyone with his Mind's Eyes, and soon spotted two 'Genins', who were not in the least flustered and started writing answers straight away.
Keenly observing their hand movements, he started mirroring them, and once his sister saw what he was doing, she closed her eyes and activated her Mind's Eye as well.
She copied her brother's answers, and Shizuka waited for the two of them to finish their tests first.
Minutes went by, and suddenly, the Nakagami felt a tug on her hand, and understanding that it was Enma's Chakra Control, she allowed him to take control of her hand, which started writing down the answers on her paper on its own.
All she had to do was pretend that she was doing it all herself, and even as the people around her kept getting caught for cheating, she remained calm and focused only on her test paper.
By the time forty minutes had passed, she had answered all nine questions, and then simply turned the paper over like her teammates.
Over one-third of the participants were already out, and when the clock hit 45 minutes, Ibiki's voice rang in the room.
"All right! Here's the Tenth Question!"
