Chapter 19 - Chapter 16

Gengo, when he saw his minions and Zabuza getting overwhelmed, rushed back toward the other end of the Bridge, where Gato, who was also being controlled by him, was standing.

With a swing of his broadsword, which was not quite unlike the sword of Zazuba, he decapitated the little man, and then jumped off the bridge, right into the sea.

A few other Kiri Missing-Nin tried to do the same, but Anko managed to get to them in time and bound them with her Shadow Snakes, whose venomous bites made them lose their consciousness.

Seeing that Enma and Yugao had things under control on the Bridge, she chased after the terrifying Genjutsu User, but her student jumped off with her and dived right into the water.

Without a second thought, she followed him instead of Gengo, and those who were confused about what was going on, suddenly saw Gengo's body explode into water after Hyuga Tokuma threw a Kunai at him, which exploded as soon as it got close.

It was a Water Clone...

The Uzumaki swam after the Ninja who was using a Water-Style Jutsu to travel through the water like a fish, at a speed that made it hard for him and Anko to keep up with.

So, instead, he signalled to his Sensei and swam to the surface of the sea to run on the water instead.

Unfortunately for the Rogue Shinobi, Enma had locked onto his Chakra and was able to keep tabs on him even when he swam deeper into the sea. And Anko found the range of his Mind's Eye a little ridiculous.

For a good two hours, they chased after Gengo, and when the man finally decided to surface, believing that he had pulled off a successful escape, the two separated and moved in different directions to pincer their target.

The Kiri Missing-Nin, who possessed a terrifying Genjutsu, panted as he came out of the water, having overexerted himself with that escape technique, and the next second, a serpent shot out of the ground under his feet and wrapped around him in a vice grip.

He was in disbelief when he saw the two Konoha Shinobi, and then he felt a sting on his shoulder which caused his vision to blur. He soon closed his eyes to never open them again.

Back on the bridge, the battle had long concluded, and Karin and Hana were healing Hatake Kakashi, who had suffered a lot of serious injuries in his fight against Zazuba.

The Copy Ninja did manage to kill the Ninja Swordsman of the Mist in single combat, and he displayed a technique that interested both Sasuke and 'Enma' a lot.

One of the clones of the Uzumaki also freed the caged people inside the Hexagonal Prism, and Yugao and Tokuma were very impressed by how the family of the three had been hidden away from their eyes. Even the Hyuga's Byakugan had been tricked, but perhaps only because he was focused on the enemies.

The old man, his daughter, and grandson were woken up by Sakura, and the three were shocked when they saw hundreds of dead bodies, including that of Zazuba and the other Kiri Missing-Nin.

Naruto was awake as well, and he was sitting next to the dead body of the Shinobi from the Yuki Clan, whose Ice Release had pushed both him and Sasuke to their limits.

"What are you doing?" The blond Uzumaki frowned when one of Enma's clones walked over to them, started searching the dead boy's belongings, and took out some scrolls.

"Just checking if he has anything of value on him."

"Don't touch his things," Naruto growled, and Enma furrowed his brows, took all the scrolls to Karin, and after she confirmed that there was nothing of value, he came back and put everything back as it was and then dispelled himself.

The Blond Uzumaki finally stopped glaring and then his eyes dimmed again.

"What happened to him?" The last clone, who had just sealed Zazuba's Sword inside a scroll that Karin gave him, curiously asked Sasuke.

The Uchiha then told everyone about Haku's story and his sad life. And he admitted that the Yuki took mercy on him when he unleashed those hundreds of senbon at him.

Haku even saved Naruto's life when Zazuba was about to kill him. The boy did not wish to kill anyone or take any lives but was determined to do anything for his Master if he was pressed.

Enma knew about the rest of the story. They were here when it happened.

The boy had jumped in front of his Master and shielded Kakashi's Lightning Blade.

In the end, he gave up his life for the one who had saved him once, and who had used him as a tool all his life.

"I see," The clone sighed before he dispelled himself, transferring all the information to the real Enma, who was on his way back with Anko.

The two of them returned at night and found everyone at Tazuna's House.

Kakashi was awake but stayed in bed under Karin and Hana's instructions, and his entire body was bandaged, making him look like a mummy.

Tazuna's daughter served him and Sasuke their meals in the room.

The Uchiha needed the rest too, after all, he had given his best to hold on until the reinforcements reached them. The years of training had finally come in very handy, which saved their lives.

Sakura was very quiet after witnessing the battle and the bloodbath, but she helped Tsunami make and serve meals to everyone.

The next morning, Tokuma wrote down a message to the Hokage, informing him that everyone was safe and the band of Kiri Missing-Nin had been eliminated. He also asked for permission to stay in the Land of Waves for a few weeks as Team 7 wanted to finish their Mission in the country. He sent his Falcon Summon to deliver the message to Konoha, and on the next day, in the evening, the bird returned with Hiruzen's reply.

They had been allowed to stay with Team 7 for a month.

At Naruto's request, Zazuba and Haku were buried together in the forest, and then the Blond Uzumaki helped Tazuna and the other people of the Land of Waves, day and night, with his dozens of clones to finish the bridge that connected the two countries.

Everyone else helped as well, but Shizuka, Sasuke, and Sakura spent most of the time Training, having realised that their strength was far from enough to survive in this world.

The two Uzumaki, however, spent most of the time exploring the Land of Waves, fishing, hunting, and having fun. And Anko, who was overseeing Shizuka's training, allowed them this break.

Twenty days later, the last section of the Bridge which had been on hold for a few years now was finally completed, connecting the Land of Waves to the Land of Fire.

The people, now freed from Gato's tyrannical monopoly over the shipping industry, and having realised their dream of the bridge, celebrated their hearts out.

Several names were suggested for the bridge, but since Tazuna was the key man who had helped them accomplish the dream, it was left to him to pick the name.

Karin laughed when the Old Man named the bridge "The Great Naruto Bridge" and the Blond Uzumaki was very shy when he was hailed as a hero by the people, who were not just grateful that he saved them, but were also very grateful for his help in completing the last section so soon.

After staying another night at Tazuna's House, the group left for Konoha at dawn, and since they were in no haste this time, they took it easy.

Five days later, they found themselves standing in front of the Hokage in his office.

Everyone was expecting Team 7 to receive a reprimand, but the Hokage did not say anything and only denied them the Mission Reward, which was that of a C-Rank Mission in the first place.

Karin pouted when Anko asked for the sealing scroll that contained Kubikiribōchō, one of the Seven Swords of the Hidden Mist.

It was a very valuable blade since it possessed self-healing properties and was very sharp and sturdy.

The blade could prove to be a key for future negotiations between the two Villages, but right now, Kiri was a mess.

If times were better, and Konoha was stronger, Hiruzen would have taken the opportunity to declare war on them, crushing them once and for all, but unfortunately, Konoha was vulnerable right now.

Two of their Sanin were gone, and one had turned Rogue. Uzumaki Kazuma, the Red Storm, whom the Great Villages feared after the Third Great Shinobi War, was dead. Namikaze Minato, the Yellow Flash, the Fourth Hokage, another War Hero of the Third Great Shinobi War was dead. Their Village's strongest Clan, the Uchiha Clan, had been massacred, and with it, Uchiha Fugaku, the Wicked Eye, died.

Konoha could still defend itself, but it no longer had the option of declaring war on another Great Shinobi Village.

Since its establishment, the Hidden Leaf had never been this weak, and everything that had happened over the years made him question his own decisions.

What did he give the Hidden Leaf as its Hokage?

Sarutobi Hiruzen had been asking this question a lot lately.

"Team 7, dismissed."

"Jiji, I want a cool mission..." Sakura smacked her fist on Naruto's head before she dragged him out of the Hokage Office, leaving everyone in the room chuckling at their antics.

"Well done, Anko."

"Thank you, Hokage-sama."

Hiruzen then opened the drawer and picked out three scrolls.

"Your next three Missions are all A-Rank Missions, and this one is an S-Rank Mission. Yugao and Hana will be joining you on these Missions..."

Anko curiously opened the Black Scroll, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"Someone has kidnapped Fire Daimyo's granddaughter, Naho, and left behind words to wait for their message. Your S-Rank Mission is to free her from the hands of the person or the group who has kidnapped her. Your A-Rank Mission is to investigate the reasons behind the kidnapping, all of them. Your Second A-Rank Mission is to kill the person or the group involved in this act. Every last one of them." Hiruzen's voice was cold. "And your last A-Rank Mission depends on your findings in the investigation. Kill or apprehend the true preparator, but if it is no longer an A-Rank Mission, but something politically subtle, do not engage."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

"Team 10 has been given a B-Rank Mission to help you with the investigation and to act as your support. Should they be required to help you kill the Mercenary Group or help you deal with the true preparators, their Mission will become an A-Rank Mission. So, do not hesitate to ask for their help if needed."

"We understand, Hokage-sama." Anko nodded her head and then frowned. "What if the girl is..."

"If the girl is dead, you will bring the heads of those responsible for her death to the Fire Daimyo. The other details are mentioned in the scroll," He meaningfully said, and the Jonin nodded her head. "You will meet Team 10 at the Main Gate at dawn. Dismissed."

When they came out of the Hokage Tower, Karin brightly smiled at Yugao, who was silently walking by their side.

"Good night, Usgai-san!"

Yugao froze at her words, and before she could react, the two Uzumaki siblings were already rushing back to their home.

Anko giggled when she looked at the expressions of her former Anbu colleague.

"You have been quite lax in your duties, Usagi. Even kids know your secret identity."

"Shut up, Hebi..."

"I am not Hebi anymore. I am Anko." She grinned and then flickered away.
