After the butler left Victor Emmanuel II's room, he went to the stables to order the carriage to be prepared. Upon returning from the stables, he saw Victor Emmanuel II and Jerome Bonaparte deep in conversation.
The butler paused and quietly waited for Jerome Bonaparte and Victor Emmanuel II to finish their talk.
After a while, Victor Emmanuel II nodded to Jerome Bonaparte, seemingly agreeing to something, then he looked at the butler, signaling him to come over.
Seeing this, the butler hurried to Victor Emmanuel II and Jerome Bonaparte, "Your Majesties!"
"Jerome asked you to prepare the carriage, how is it going?" Victor Emmanuel II asked the butler.
"Your Majesty, the carriage is ready!" the butler replied to Victor Emmanuel II.
"Good then!" Victor Emmanuel nodded again, and turned to Jerome Bonaparte, "Jerome, since you insist on going out, I won't force you to stay here!
But you must agree to one condition!"
"What condition?" Jerome Bonaparte asked Victor Emmanuel II.
