Listening to Zhang Yi's murmurs, Zhou Ke'er felt her heart pounding with fear. At that moment, no one in the entire complex knew that they were all frantically teetering on the edge of hell, desperately shifting from side to side. Life or death hinged on Zhang Yi's next thought.
"I'm so glad I chose to follow him," she thought, filled with relief.
Suddenly, Zhang Yi looked toward Zhou Ke'er, who was kneeling before him, and patted his thigh. "Come here."
Zhou Ke'er approached and sat on his lap. The room was very warm, so at home they usually wore pajamas—or sometimes even just their underwear. Zhou Ke'er hadn't brought any clothes with her; they were all chosen by Zhang Yi. Naturally, her style was exactly how Zhang Yi liked it. For example, the set she was wearing now was a black lace pajama set, of that sexy kind. The thin fabric revealed her smooth, white abdomen and a generous layer of delicate, snowy fat. The material covering her lower body was scandalously scant, barely providing any coverage.
Sitting on Zhang Yi's lap, the perfectly toned feel of her perky butt delighted him both physically and mentally. Zhang Yi wrapped his arms around her slender waist and bit her ear, instantly causing her cheeks to flush and her breath to quicken.
"Ke'er, tell me—from your perspective, should I fight them or negotiate?" Zhang Yi asked.
Zhou Ke'er had expected Zhang Yi to be discussing serious business. To her surprise, he was asking for her opinion. Of course, this was another form of serious business. She felt a tinge of regret, yet was glad that Zhang Yi cared about her view.
Her eyes twinkled as she replied, "If we choose to fight, can you handle an attack from the residents of the other 29 buildings all at once?"
"Hmm, no problem," Zhang Yi answered confidently.
In truth, he felt a slight insecurity—he was 99.99% sure, but there was that lingering 0.01% of uncertainty. After all, he couldn't guarantee that none of the other 29 buildings had someone hiding explosives capable of felling an entire building. But that probability was about as likely as an H-bullet falling from the sky and hitting his house—if it happens, there's nothing he can do! Zhang Yi decided not to dwell on it.
A look of astonishment filled Zhou Ke'er's eyes. She had expected Zhang Yi to say it was impossible, but he had given her a definitive "yes." After all, he had never told her how many weapons and supplies he had. Then again, Zhou Ke'er thought that since Zhang Yi possessed superhuman abilities, anything was possible for him.
She took a deep breath and asked, "Then if we negotiate, does that mean you'd have to provide living supplies for everyone in the entire complex?"
Zhang Yi burst out laughing. "Based on what they say, that's exactly what it means."
Zhou Ke'er immediately protested, "That's absolutely unacceptable! Even if we assume there are 50 survivors per building, that totals 1,500 people! Supplying food for that many is practically impossible—it would be overburdening you!"
Zhang Yi waved his hand dismissively. "The math isn't calculated that way."
"They always put conditions sky-high, waiting for me to bargain it down," she continued. "And don't think of these people as anything worthwhile. Anyone who controls a building always has their own clique, and they prioritize supplying their own people first."
A deep glimmer shone in Zhang Yi's eyes. "As for the rest, they're just reserve supplies. Do they really need to squander resources on reserves?"
Zhou Ke'er agreed, nodding. "Even so, having you supply the entire complex's 30 buildings is an enormous hassle!"
Zhang Yi smiled and nodded. "Exactly. So I must find a way to rid myself of this hassle."
"Either I kill them all—which is a convoluted and troublesome process that could be somewhat dangerous since it would force me to leave this building and go out to deal with them…"
He rubbed his head. "Tell me, is there any way I can avoid having to wipe them out entirely and still be free of this nuisance?"
Zhou Ke'er pondered seriously with her head bowed. Meanwhile, Zhang Yi massaged her ample curves, helping her think. After a long while, Zhou Ke'er said helplessly, "This problem is unsolvable. To them, you're their only hope—if you don't help them, they'll surely come to kill you."
"There is, theoretically, another option, but it isn't realistic."
Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow slightly, "Oh? What option?"
Zhou Ke'er smiled, "Although running away is shameful, it can be effective. Why don't you leave this complex, move to another place, and get rid of them?"
Zhang Yi stared at her with wide eyes. At first, he found her suggestion utterly absurd—even nonsensical. The safe house he had painstakingly built—should he abandon the complex?
But suddenly, another idea emerged in his mind. "What if I could store the safe house in my spatial storage and take it with me?"
Zhang Yi had tried storing large items before, but they had to exist independently. His safe house was integrated into the building's framework. To take it away, it would have to be dismantled. But how would he dismantle it? With what tool? If it were possible, I'm sure those bastards in the neighborhood would have already taken it apart.
Although the idea was bold and nearly impossible, it gave Zhang Yi a refreshing sense of possibility. Perhaps one day, if conditions permitted, he could try. But for now, it clearly wasn't a viable option.
Seeing Zhang Yi's serious expression as he pondered, Zhou Ke'er couldn't help but laugh, "I'm just saying it off the cuff— you wouldn't take it seriously, would you?"
Zhang Yi looked at her and smiled, pinching her [her asset] playfully, "So, what do you think I should do?"
Pouting, Zhou Ke'er replied, "I don't know either!"
Zhang Yi's gaze turned deep. "Then let's not rush; let's wait and see! After all, time is on our side, and the advantage is mine!"
Right now, the only thing that could trouble Zhang Yi was if the residents of the other 29 buildings united. But in this apocalypse, people are all scheming. In a complex with 30 buildings, various groups have already formed their own distinct cultures.
Zhang Yi, along with the Tianhe Gang and the Kuanglang Gang, have taken control through force and slaughter. Chen Lingyu controls her building by brainwashing and hypnotism. Li Jian, on the other hand, has established a harmonious, conflict-free community through scientific management.
So many organizations, with ideologies that are on entirely different levels. Moreover, they are wary of each other, ever ready to turn into enemies. Uniting them isn't easy.
Zhang Yi decided to continue observing; there was no rush to decide his course of action. After all, the initiative was in his hands. On the firepower front, he had a huge arsenal of hot weapons, along with the support of his precise shooting abilities—he wasn't afraid of a group battle.
