Chapter 3 - The Third Wave

A new person

One day, my friend Sarthak introduced me to a junior. She was a year younger than me.

"Dude, she's beautiful and really passionate in a relationship," he said. "But… her last relationship completely broke her. Just saying, it might be tricky."

I nodded. "Hmm… maybe. Still, I'll give it a try."

Her name was Aasha, and her class was just in the opposite building from mine.

Later, I got to know the harsh truth about her past. After her ex cheated on her, she had even tried to end her life but was saved by her parents in time. My heart went out to her, and I felt this determination to heal her and make her mine… mine forever.

But I knew I couldn't just walk up to her yet. I decided to contact one of her friends first. Suvani, an acquaintance I'd met at school events, seemed like the perfect person to talk to. I poured my heart out to her.

At first, she was doubtful. "Honestly… the chances are really low," she said.

I insisted, though, explaining why I felt this was worth trying. Finally, she agreed to help.

The next day, she set up a meeting at one of the couple's hideouts in school. My nerves were on edge, as I'd never confessed to anyone in real life before. Although the confession seemed fast, my plan was clear: heal her first, then get to know her better.

When I arrived, she was already there. Her presence was striking; there was this quiet charm in the way she stood, the soft curve of her smile, and a calm aura that made my chest tighten. I had never seen her that close before.

I approached her and spoke from the heart, letting my feelings spill out. But she seemed unsure.

"I… I haven't really moved on from my last relationship," she admitted. "I'm still healing."

A burst of words slipped out of me without thinking: "I'm here to heal you and make you mine."

Her eyes widened, surprise flashing across her face, but she shook her head. "Sorry," she whispered, and left.

I met Sarthak afterward, looking sad. "It didn't go well," I muttered. But strangely, I felt sad, although I had experienced rejection before too. That night, I barely slept, thinking of her.

The next day, I dragged myself to class, sleepy and depressed. No one knew what had happened, except Sarthak, who was quietly amazed at how fast I'd caught feelings.
