Chapter 6 - Chapter 06: You and I will never be departed" Part 4

As they continued discussing their plans, Shiki had a specific idea for how they could tackle deadly crimes. "Kanro, what if we focus on solving murder cases? You could use your power to go back in time using a picture taken before the victim died. You could witness what happened and find out how the victim was killed."

Kanro's eyes lit up with understanding. "And then, I could relay the information to you, and you could share it with your colleagues at the police department. We could identify the killer and bring them to justice."

Shiki nodded. "Exactly! With your ability to see the past and my role as a police officer, we could solve crimes that seem impossible to crack. We'll be able to help so many people."

Excited by the prospect of using their abilities to solve deadly crimes, Kanro and Shiki continued to set up their new home. They knew that with their unique skills and dedication, they could make a significant impact in their community and help bring closure to those who had lost loved ones.

To further expand their reach and assist more people, Shiki decided to create a website for them. He remembered his friend Aki, a computer science student who did web development on the side. Shiki decided to message her directly.

Message from Shiki:

"Hey Aki! Long time no see. I hope you're doing well. I have a bit of a favor to ask. Kanro and I are starting a new venture. We need a website to get the word out and accept quests from people. I know you're great at web development, and I was hoping you could help us out. Let me know if you're interested!"

Aki responded quickly, her message filled with enthusiasm.

Message from Aki:

"Hey Shiki! It's been ages! I'm doing great, thanks for asking. You have a new venture? That sounds amazing, and I'd love to help you guys out with the website. Let's meet up and discuss the details. I'm excited to get started!"

Shiki showed Kanro the messages, but Kanro still seemed unsure. "Are you sure we can trust her with this, Shiki?"

"Absolutely," Shiki assured him. "Aki is trustworthy. She'll respect the sensitivity of our work."

Relieved, Kanro nodded. "Alright, let's get in touch with her and discuss the details."

They met up with Aki and explained their vision for the website and what they needed. With Aki's expertise, they were able to create a sleek and user-friendly website. It included a detailed description of their services, a contact form for submitting quests, and testimonials from people they had already helped. The website quickly gained attention, and soon, requests for help started pouring in.

As they took on more quests and solved more cases, Kanro and Shiki's reputation grew. They became known as the dynamic duo who could solve the most challenging and mysterious crimes. Their unique abilities, combined with their skills as a police officer and detective, made them an unstoppable team dedicated to making the world a better place, one quest at a time.

With each case they solved, Kanro and Shiki felt a deep sense of fulfillment. They knew that their powers were meant to be used for good, and they were determined to continue helping others, no matter what challenges they faced.

The future was uncertain, but Kanro and Shiki were ready to face it together, side by side, using their abilities to bring justice and peace to those who needed it most.

Unfortunately, in an unexpected turn of events, a tragic accident occurred that claimed Shiki's life.

As the scene shifted from the vivid flashback to the present, the sky began to darken. Kanro stood by Shiki's gravesite, the memories of their journey together flooding his mind.

"Shiki, it's getting late. I should head home," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I miss you every day. Your laughter, your determination, …. I miss it all."

Kanro stood up with one last glance at the tombstone, "I'll bring you back, I will" he silently whispered holding his tears to fall again

As Kanro stood alone by Shiki's grave, the memories of their time together brought both pain and determination. He was resolute in his promise to bring Shiki back, but he also knew that his powers came with a heavy toll.

Kanro pushed himself harder each day, diving deep into the mysteries of his powers and exhausting himself in the process. One evening, as he was on the verge of collapsing from overexertion, Aki showed up at his door, concern etched across her face.

"Kanro, you need to stop this!" she exclaimed as she entered the room, her eyes widening in shock at the sight of him. "You're pushing yourself too far. Look at you, you're about to pass out!"

Ignoring her pleas, Kanro continued to focus on a picture of Shiki, desperately trying to harness his power to reverse time. "I have to do this, Aki. I have to bring him back."

Aki tried to grab the picture from his hand, but Kanro held on tightly. "Kanro, please. You're going to hurt yourself."

As they struggled, an old photo album fell off the shelf and hit Kanro on the hand, causing him to drop the picture along with the other photos from the album scattered on the floor. "Can you just stop!! You're not helping!!!" he shouted, his eyes burning with anger, rendering Aki speechless.

Kanro picked up the picture again and attempted to use his power, but Aki, equally stubborn, grabbed his hand. In an unexpected turn of events, they were both transported to the past—a time before Kanro was taken to the orphanage. "Wait?! What?! This can't be!!" It was then that Kanro realized he had grabbed the wrong picture. "I pick to wrong pic, this is her fault" Kanro said angrily to himself "She better be ready when I get back"
