Chapter 611: Poseidon, Tang Wulin
For several days, the gods in the Douluo God Realm awaited a grand battle that never came. Douluo Continent remained eerily silent, peaceful to a degree that felt unnatural.
Though only days had passed in the God Realm, years went by on Douluo Continent. Just as everyone began to believe this tranquility would last, a sudden shift in the God Realm hinted to the gods that something big was on the horizon.
The God of Destruction cast a glance at Tang San, who sat with his eyes closed, and thought, So, the Seven Elemental Gods' successors are lagging behind after all.
Meanwhile, in HaoTian Sect's hidden sanctuary
Thanks to the rapid development of soul guided technology, there were few places left on Douluo Continent where a large sect could stay hidden. With Tang San's support, however, it was easy enough for HaoTian Sect to find a small island deep in the ocean where they could establish their stronghold.
Tang Wulin slowly emerged from the secret realm of Poseidon's inheritance. He didn't glance down at the elders of HaoTian Sect, whose cultivations had been forcibly boosted to ultimate levels to open the inheritance for him, nor did he acknowledge Da Ming and Er Ming, once like father figures to him. Neither did he spare a glance at the people from Tianxing Academy who had hidden here with HaoTian Sect, including Elder Xuan.
Tang Wulin's gaze was now cold and detached, like that of a true god who looked upon mortals with dispassion. This change was the result of his life of hardships on Douluo Continent and the deep understanding he had gained through the god inheritance. At last, he realized, I am who I am meant to be.
Gazing out over the sea and sky meeting on the horizon, Tang Wulin sighed.
"I was born above the clouds, destined for privilege and power. Though the foolish beings of Douluo Continent have wronged me, I harbor no resentment toward them. They are mere mortals.
"But now, as the rightful heir of Poseidon, it is my duty to restore this world to its proper order."
Raising his arms, it was as if he was embracing the world itself, proclaiming this era as his own. Everyone present, aside from the god ranked powerhouses, knelt in half bows, swearing their loyalty to Tang Wulin. Da Ming and Er Ming exchanged glances, sighing as they too bowed in acknowledgment of Tang Wulin's divine status.
Thus began the age of gods.
Back in the God Realm, the Seven Elemental Gods urged their High Priest to commence the final trials for their successors. They had reason to hurry. Once started, the god trials couldn't be interrupted, and their successors were still at the initial stage of 100 level godhood. Meanwhile, Tang Wulin and his allies had already reached the peak of god officer level by forceful advancement. If their successors fell too far behind, they'd face an inevitable defeat.
After all, Tang San had a history of eliminating gods, and the Seven Elemental Gods had no intention of letting him destroy the positions they'd labored to preserve.
Furthermore, their pride was on the line. Poseidon's god position was a first rank god role, so losing to it would be understandable. However, if their successors lost to a group of minor gods, it would be a disgrace, even in the God Realm.
It was clear to Tang San what the Elemental Gods were planning, so he had already issued orders to Tang Wulin after completing his final inheritance:
"Son, act swiftly. Time is not on your side. I sense that the Seven Elemental Gods' successors are reaching the final stages of their trials. If you don't eliminate the Federation's forces quickly, your future battles will be far harder."
"Yes, Father. I will prove myself and uphold your honor," Tang Wulin replied resolutely.
HaoTian Sect's Hidden Sanctuary
Tang Wulin glanced around at his followers.
"Uncle Da Ming, do you know where most of the Tianxing Federation's high ranking officials are gathered, aside from the Seven Elemental Gods' successors?"
Since Tang San had informed him that the Seven Elemental Gods' successors were in the final stages of their trials, Tang Wulin knew they were untouchable for now. His first target would be the Federation's other top officials.
Da Ming was taken aback by Tang Wulin calling him "Uncle" rather than "Father," as he had for decades, but knowing Tang San's character, he could only sigh and accept it.
Due to the Federation's crackdowns, HaoTian Sect and their allied factions had been forced into hiding, developing covertly to avoid being discovered and eradicated by Tang Sect spies. Although their intelligence network wasn't as robust as before, it was still functional.
After a moment of thought, Da Ming spoke.
"According to our intel, their top officials are mostly gathered in Tianxing City and around Tianxing Academy. Do you have a plan, Wulin?"
Tang Wulin nodded slightly.
"I've learned that the Federation's god position inheritors are conducting their final trials, leaving Tianxing Douluo as their only remaining god ranked combatant. This is the Federation's weakest moment. I plan to go and kill Tianxing Douluo now, eliminating their strongest fighter, and then slowly take out the Seven Elemental Gods one by one.
"With our entire team at the peak of god officer level, even if they complete their inheritances, they won't stand a chance against us."
As he said this, Tang Wulin seemed to think of something, clearing his throat and adding, "But of course, I'm not one to make reckless decisions. If anyone has a better suggestion, feel free to speak up."
The other god ranked fighters of HaoTian Sect exchanged glances but said nothing. In Douluo Continent's hierarchy, might made right. Though Tang Wulin's power was recently acquired and somewhat unstable, his status as Tang San's son a God King's heir meant no one dared object.
Satisfied with their silence, Tang Wulin nodded and declared boldly, "Very well. Speed is paramount! We move now. Let's catch Tianxing Douluo off guard and make him regret the oppression he's brought upon us!"
He then turned to the others, adding, "It's time for you all to act as well. While we occupy the Federation's strongest fighters, you should take this opportunity to tear a piece out of the Federation's territory as our foothold for future battles."
"Yes, Lord Poseidon," the others replied in unison.
With that, Tang Wulin and his god ranked allies transformed into beams of light, streaking through the sky toward Tianxing Academy.

Chapter 612: The Ultimate Divine Battle, Part One
It was the end of the year, and most students at Tianxing Academy had returned home, leaving only a few behind, dedicated to their training. Deep within the Academy, in the Blue Silver Forest, Ye Wen looked up at the sky, letting out a faint sigh as he paused his work on a complex soul formation.
"Releasing such blatant waves of divine power are you afraid I wouldn't notice your arrival?"
Having observed Tang Wulin from a young age, Ye Wen knew that he was nothing like his father, Tang San. Tang Wulin had inherited the arrogance of a privileged son, coupled with his mother Xiao Wu's youthful defiance. Especially when he felt he held the upper hand, Tang Wulin was prone to overconfidence.
Ye Wen didn't despise Tang Wulin for this. After all, recklessness was often a privilege of the strong. If Ye Wen had been born the son of a Titled Douluo, he probably would have been just as bold.
The immediate priority, however, was to evacuate Tianxing Academy. Even Titled Douluos couldn't withstand the aftershocks of a battle between gods.
Yet, despite being "only" an academy, Tianxing had grown into a sprawling complex surrounded by civilian areas. Clearing out everyone on short notice would be no easy feat.
"Nannan, please handle the evacuation," Ye Wen said, leaving this instruction before ascending into the sky. His divine power flared, issuing a direct challenge to the distant approaching gods.
Of Ye Wen's disciples, only two had yet to receive god positions: Jiang Nannan and Juzi. Neither had been born with extraordinary talent; their potential was something Ye Wen had helped cultivate. Since neither's attributes aligned with the idle gods unwilling to leave the God Realm, it was no surprise that they hadn't received divine inheritances. Yet, they remained optimistic and steadfast, knowing that Ye Wen possessed his own methods to help them ascend if he chose.
The now composed Jiang Nannan watched her master depart, bowing slightly.
"May you triumph, Master."
Ye Wen's outpouring of divine energy could be felt even by Tang Wulin, who was still far off, not to mention the people near Tianxing Academy. As soon as Jiang Nannan raised the evacuation alarm, the residents fled in all directions. Word quickly spread throughout Douluo Continent that another great conflict was imminent.
After years of peaceful governance, the people of Douluo were quick to identify the root cause of the disruption.
"Damn that HaoTian Sect! Can't they just let us live in peace?"
"Pah! What good is an ancient sect that's done nothing for Douluo Continent? They wait until we're finally doing well and then show up to cause chaos. What a pack of animals!"
"Masters of Tianxing, you have to win this fight!"
"God of Wisdom, God of Space, God of Light, bless us…"
With hopes firmly placed on the Tianxing Federation, the people prayed for victory. Since its founding, the Federation had spoken less with promises and more with action, demonstrating what a new kind of country could look like.
Ye Wen, though now the de facto ruler of Douluo's plane, refrained from fully mobilizing his plane's powers, as doing so would reveal his true strength to the parasitic gods in the God Realm. Instead, he waited until Tang Wulin and his group drew near to Douluo Continent, triggering the detection barrier Ye Wen had set up around Tianxing.
He couldn't allow this battle to happen near Tianxing City; the political fallout would be disastrous for the Federation. With this in mind, Ye Wen planned to lure Tang Wulin and his followers away.
Fortunately, Tang Wulin's belief in might made right left him blind to Ye Wen's intentions. Eager to eliminate Ye Wen, he and his allies were easily led to a desolate battleground.
They arrived at the former Sun Moon and Star Luo warfront, where the earth was saturated with the blood of four millennia of battle. A desolate, lifeless wasteland stretched for thousands of miles around them.
"A fitting place for a final resting place," Ye Wen muttered.
Tang Wulin and his group landed, and Wulin, overhearing Ye Wen, sneered.
"Indeed, a perfect place to bury you."
Ye Wen looked up to see his adversaries a group of eight: Poseidon Tang Wulin, Snake God Da Ming, Ape God Er Ming, God of War Xuanzi, Phoenix God Ma Xiaotao, Speed God Elder Song, Butterfly God, and Tiger God, with two unknowns in tow.
A sense of disbelief washed over Ye Wen. I only revealed god officer level strength, and yet you've brought every god ranked fighter you have to gang up on me?
Neither side moved immediately. Tang Wulin's lips curled as he spoke with a taunting tone.
"Ye Wen, if you don't want to die, swear loyalty to me on your god position now. I'll let you live, if you do. Otherwise, you'll die here today."
Seeing the greedy, sinister glint in Tang Wulin's eyes, Ye Wen knew what his plan was, and he sneered.
"Whatever scheme you're plotting, I'd sooner die than submit to someone as talentless as you."
Ye Wen's words struck a nerve in Tang Wulin, who had always felt overshadowed by Huo Yuhao since they'd met. He had hoped to make Ye Wen kneel before him, and then marry Huo Yuhao to complete his revenge against those who had looked down on him. Now, his fury erupted.
With a burst of divine radiance, Tang Wulin summoned the Sea God's Trident, wielding it with a brilliance that surpassed even that of the former Angel God.
"Poseidon's Thirteen Techniques: Storm of Uncertainty!"
With this strike, the divine battle began in earnest.
"Yamata no Orochi Form!"
"Titan Crusher!"
"Born for Battle, Fight Till Death!"
"Heavenly Speed!"
"Sacred Tiger Roar!"
"Phoenix Pierces the Sky!"
"Dreaming Butterfly Catastrophe!"
One after another, powerful god techniques tore through the air toward Ye Wen, their immense force distorting space and casting a terrifying shadow.
Ye Wen stood firm, unperturbed.
"Such monstrous power looks like I'll have to get serious."
"Domain Expansion: Infinite World!"
A flawless, boundless world descended, enclosing all nine figures within Ye Wen's domain.
In the God Realm, the God of Space whistled in awe.
"When I saw the Earth successor using her domain, I suspected her teacher must be a master of spatial abilities. Looks like I was right. What a shame… If I'd known sooner, I'd have given him my god position myself."

Chapter 613: The Ultimate Divine Battle, Part Two
To the untrained eye, this battle was a spectacle; to those with experience, it was an art of skill and power. All the gods present watched Ye Wen's domain unfold with great admiration, recognizing it as a true god level technique. Yet, despite the battle being sealed within a domain, none of them were willing to let a mere barrier stand in the way of their entertainment.
Before they could voice their frustration, the God of Destruction thoughtfully sent out a pulse of divine energy, creating a vision of the battle within Ye Wen's domain for all to see.
Inside the domain, space stretched endlessly, and the attacks launched by the eight gods, led by Tang Wulin, dissipated into nothingness after a long passage, unable to reach or harm Ye Wen.
"Stand down, everyone. Leave this to me," Xuanzi, the God of War, announced boldly.
The power of his god position as God of War activated, causing his eyes to blaze with an eerie brilliance as he appeared to unravel the secrets of Ye Wen's techniques.
As a supreme God King in his original world, Ye Wen naturally knew the God of War's abilities they granted a profound wisdom in combat. Because of this, he'd always felt that Dai Mubai had been unworthy of inheriting such a position, given that he'd been bested by ordinary fighters despite his top tier martial spirit. To call him a tactical genius was an outright farce.
Regardless, the God of War's abilities did endow Xuanzi with exceptional battle insight. With the powers of his Gluttonous Ox martial spirit, Xuanzi conjured an enormous boulder, then shouted:
"Heaven's Meteor Shower!"
The massive stone shattered, splintering into hundreds of projectiles that streaked toward Ye Wen from every angle.
Though the largest of these stones was merely the size of a human head, each carried a mountainous weight, thanks to Xuanzi's mastery over the laws of earth. Struck by one, even a soul master would be severely injured, if not killed.
For gods, however, such an attack was trivial.
Yet, surprisingly, Ye Wen countered the attack with purely physical defense.
A glint of satisfaction appeared in Xuanzi's eyes as he turned to the others.
"I fought him once back at Shrek Academy, and I suspected then that his spatial abilities could nullify elemental attacks through spatial extension. He's impervious to physical attacks at close range. Without the right strategy, he's practically unbeatable.
"Now I can confirm it his spatial ability can only neutralize a limited number of attacks. Once the trajectory becomes too complex for him to calculate, he can't use his space ability effectively. So I'll focus on tying him down. Everyone else, attack when you see an opening!"
Without waiting for a response, Xuanzi donned his god armor and charged Ye Wen.
From the moment he first saw Ye Wen, Xuanzi had known he was an enemy of Shrek. But Ye Wen's overwhelming power had kept him helplessly subdued, forced to watch as Shrek's legacy crumbled.
He knew attacking Tianxing Federation was a grave mistake.
But Xuanzi did not regret it.
Shrek's glory was past. Whatever his fate honor or disgrace he would bear it as the Pavilion Master of Sea God Pavilion.
With eight gods attacking a single opponent, Xuanzi felt certain of victory. Whether soul masters or gods, their divine power reserves were limited. Ye Wen's power was formidable, but facing this relentless assault, his advantage would ultimately diminish. In the end, he would be ground down and destroyed.
Within the domain, their combined attacks filled the space like bursts of brilliant fireworks beautiful yet deadly. Any single blast would have obliterated the earth if released outside.
Finally, under the relentless onslaught from the "righteous" Sea God Alliance, Ye Wen seemed to tire, his breathing labored.
Sensing Ye Wen's weakening aura, Tang Wulin smiled smugly.
"Ye Wen, I'll give you one last chance. Surrender or else "
Tang Wulin's words were cut short as his eyes widened in shock, staring down at a small, thumb sized hole that had appeared in his chest.
"When did he attack…?" he muttered in disbelief.
Ye Wen's voice broke the silence. "Don't underestimate me, brat. With your paltry strength, you're not even worthy to shine my shoes."
All techniques, even divine ones, had distinct stages of formation. Yet in the heat of combat, Ye Wen had managed to strike Tang Wulin without a trace of divine fluctuation, causing the Sea God's alliance to tense up.
It dawned on them that they were still within Ye Wen's domain a realm whose secrets they had yet to uncover.
Though the wound closed quickly, healed by the divine power of Poseidon, Tang Wulin's eyes blazed with fury, his earlier confidence dissolving into humiliation.
"I'll kill you!" he snarled, raising the Sea God's Trident and unleashing a torrent of techniques from the Poseidon's Thirteen Techniques.
To Tang Wulin, Ye Wen's hidden domain was little more than a delaying tactic. With his divine energy on the decline, Ye Wen could only prolong the inevitable by hiding. When his strength was depleted, he would be reduced to mere mortal remains.
Thus, the alliance continued their strategy, aiming to wear him down. They used techniques like Xuanzi's initial Heaven's Meteor Shower, launching waves of attacks to steadily exhaust Ye Wen.
But as the battle drew on, Xuanzi began to notice something odd.
"What's going on? This fight's lasted as long as our previous one, yet he's only lost about half of his energy."
The realization hit Xuanzi like a blow. He kept his attacks going but began to calculate Ye Wen's rate of depletion carefully.
Though Ye Wen's energy was indeed waning, it seemed to be shrinking by halves each time, as if there was no end to it.
A horrifying thought crossed Xuanzi's mind.
"He's toying with us!"
Without a word to the others, Xuanzi summoned an enormous amount of god power.
"Gluttonous Ox Divine Technique: Original Collapse!"
An immense black energy cannon materialized, descending on Ye Wen like a thunderclap. Its range extended over a kilometer.
Xuanzi's unexpected move stunned everyone, including Tang Wulin.
Before Tang Wulin could voice his anger, they noticed that this terrifying level three god attack didn't explode or dissipate on impact.

Chapter 614: Ultimate Divine Battle, Part Three
After fighting for so long, the gods present finally understood the limits of Ye Wen's invincible spatial nullification ability: its energy consumption was directly proportional to the power and speed of the attacks. The faster and more powerful the enemy's strikes, the more space Ye Wen needed to stretch and manipulate to disperse them. And the stronger the attack, the more space energy it required to exhaust itself naturally.
Having assumed they had depleted Ye Wen's divine power, the alliance's confidence faltered as they realized a harsh truth with Xuanzi's final assault: Ye Wen had been toying with them all along!
To be humiliated and deceived repeatedly would enrage anyone let alone these gods, volatile and easily angered by nature.
But rather than clouding their judgment with anger, the betrayal sharpened Tang Wulin and the others' focus. This relentless foe held untold secrets and layers of cunning they hadn't yet unraveled. They dared not underestimate him any longer.
As Xuanzi's attack finally dissipated, the group beheld Ye Wen once more, now clad in his radiant silver god armor. No one said a word. Tang Wulin, sensing the weight of Ye Wen's brilliance, wisely refrained from using cheap tricks to taunt him. It would be insulting to attempt such tactics on the man hailed as Douluo Continent's God of Wisdom.
While Ye Wen bought time, Tang Wulin and his comrades tried to deduce his true capabilities. Meanwhile, the gods in the Douluo Divine Realm, with their superior insight, began to see through Ye Wen's abilities and strategies. Standing amidst them, Tang San clenched his fists in mounting frustration.
Divine power came from refining belief energy, and whether god or mortal, each had their limits. To push beyond them took countless years of painstaking cultivation a model the Divine Realm had followed for millennia.
Yet here was Ye Wen, defying every limit they knew.
Ye Wen's armor differed from Tang San's, crafted by the Sea God and Asura God. Instead, this was a new kind of divine equipment. Not only did it enhance Ye Wen's abilities, but it also held a divine energy storage function, akin to a portable godly sanctuary.
Though Ye Wen's inherent strength was only equal to Tang Wulin and his allies at the peak god officer level, his unique armor gave him the upper hand in stamina, making him nearly unstoppable.
Seeing this, the Seven Elemental Gods, each one mentor to one of Ye Wen's disciples, marveled at his terrifying potential and decided to adjust their plans.
No need for ordinary god tier armor; if his five word Douluo Armor could evolve with stored divine energy, then why not leap straight to an enhanced six word divine armor?
However, the perceptive God of Destruction noticed something even more unusual. With a wave, he shifted the view back to the shell of Ye Wen's sealed domain.
Finally, he understood. "So that's it! I thought it odd that mere armor could provide such extreme endurance. From the very start, this guy created this domain to continuously refine belief energy, feeding himself through the process."
The God of Evil chuckled, impressed. "A remarkable monster, that one. If this new Sea God doesn't figure out his tricks, he and his team will likely be worn down to death. This domain of his not only refines outside belief energy into his power, it also prevents these eight from restoring themselves with belief energy. He'll bleed them dry."
As the gods discussed, Tang San's expression darkened, cursing the eight warriors under his breath. Eight against one, yet they still looked as if they might be defeated? Did they not know how to fight?
With all eyes on the battlefield, Tang San couldn't use any tricks. Left with no choice, he began frantically plotting a way to turn the situation around. Failure would cut off his primary source of belief energy, leaving only one option to abandon his god position and seek out another corner of the universe.
When facing desperation, one's potential tends to be at its highest. Before long, a solution occurred to Tang San, and he allowed a smile to break through his anger.
Inside the Infinite World
Xuanzi's mind was racing, working through a plan. After a moment, he exhaled a deep breath and communicated with his allies telepathically.
"Ye Wen is not only known as the God of Wisdom; he's also famed as the God of Soul Engineering and Forging. His armor appears to have a function similar to a soul power storage tool, like a massive reservoir of divine energy.
"That means we've been fighting him the wrong way from the start. We'll lose this battle if we keep going as we are."
Though Tang Wulin's face darkened, he understood that Xuanzi must have a way forward. For the first time in a while, he softened toward the man he once held in high regard. "Xuanzi, do you have a plan?"
Though irked by Tang Wulin's inconsistency, Xuanzi didn't let it show. After all, the fate of everyone present was at stake.
"No perfect plan, no. But from the patterns I've noticed, Ye Wen's space nullification ability drains him faster when faced with high speed, high energy attacks. So, here's my proposal: we blitz him with unrelenting attacks, maximizing speed and power to stretch his limits. His restoration rate may be high, but if we push him past it, he'll eventually run out of divine power."
At Xuanzi's direction, the eight exchanged firm nods, their eyes resolute. Though not ideal, this was the only workable plan.
The main striker would, of course, be Tang Wulin. Among the Thirteen Techniques of the Sea God, the Boundless Storm could continuously ensnare opponents, making it the most effective method for wearing down Ye Wen's seemingly invincible defenses. It would also prevent him from dodging or escaping, creating optimal conditions for the others to attack.
And so the brutal battle resumed.
Ye Wen, aware of the Divine Realm's scrutiny, restricted himself to level three god power, fighting with restraint. As a result, he was forced to play defensively, holding back against opponents who, despite their lack of mastery, were all peak god officers.
But years of battle had forged Ye Wen's abilities to a perfect edge. Though outnumbered and outmaneuvered, his defenses held, embodying an impenetrable resilience.
The Space God in the Divine Realm, a master of space manipulation himself, watched with fascination, his face alight as he sensed himself on the verge of a breakthrough.
Yet just as the Space God felt he was on the cusp of comprehension
Ye Wen's domain shattered.

Chapter 615: Ultimate Divine Battle, Part Four
The sudden turn of events startled everyone within the domain.
Thanks to his own upgrades, Tang Wulin, with his Purple Demon Eyes honed to a profound level, quickly noticed that Ye Wen had taken a serious hit, spurting blood in the process.
"An opening!"
In a flash, the thought sparked action. Tang Wulin's thighs tightened with power as a white rabbit deity mark flickered on his forehead.
"Original Divine Technique: Lunar Charge!"
Instantly, Tang Wulin vanished, his speed so blindingly fast that none of the others could react in time.
As everyone knew, rabbits were nearly at the bottom of the food chain, and for such a being to achieve godhood was thought impossible in the present era. But in the age of the Dragon God, there had been one rabbit that managed it. Although not particularly strong in direct combat, this deity took their species' natural gift to an extraordinary level, achieving an unmatched speed powered by their legs. While not quite on par with the God of Speed, within the same level, the Rabbit God's speed ranked in the top three.
Building on this heritage, Tang Wulin had combined his martial soul, his deity powers, and his Sea God Trident to unleash the strongest lunge attack of his life.
Ye Wen had just sensed that someone from outside his domain had used a god level technique to break its barrier. At that exact moment, however, Tang Wulin had driven his trident right into Ye Wen's side.
Damn it!
The searing pain flooded over Ye Wen, a normally composed man, and he couldn't help but curse in fury.
Of all places to stab, you go for my kidney!
While this wasn't his true body, it was still a blow to his pride. Outraged, Ye Wen decided to retaliate against Tang Wulin with everything he had.
"Overclock: Detonation!"
A violent burst erupted, and though Tang Wulin had reached god level, his defense didn't match. Instantly, he was blasted backward. Meanwhile, Ye Wen used his spatial manipulation to absorb most of the attack's force, leaving him standing tall, albeit with three gaping holes in his abdomen.
Acting fast, Da Ming and Er Ming caught the hurtling Tang Wulin.
Tang Wulin looked battered, his divine armor now riddled with cracks. And yet, he smiled.
For the first time, Ye Wen had been truly injured in front of them. This meant his invincible status had been broken.
"Forget about me strike now!" Tang Wulin shouted.
The others, seasoned fighters, immediately recognized this as the best chance to attack and lunged at Ye Wen once more.
But Ye Wen, who had never regarded these opponents as anything more than nuisances, turned his focus to a rapidly receding speck on the horizon.
"Well played, Tang San," he muttered, piecing together the plan. "You must have planted a failed god candidate with a hidden divine consciousness in their martial soul, using it as a trigger for this ambush. My domain's outer barrier is reinforced to a level comparable to a third tier god. For an external attack to break it, the power just now had to come from a soul guided projectile. A big one. Looks like Tang San's been stockpiling ninth tier soul guided missiles, only to use them all in one go now."
Determined to settle the score with this ambusher, Ye Wen grinned grimly, ignoring his own wounds. After all, such injuries meant little to him.
"Overclock: Red Line!"
A concentrated surge of divine energy flared up, the intensity forcing Da Ming, Er Ming, and the others to hesitate.
Seeing Ye Wen's aim wasn't on them but on the retreating figure, they were incensed. How dare he turn his back on them, as if they weren't a threat?
With renewed anger, they resumed their assault, resolved to defend their godhood by bringing Ye Wen down.
Meanwhile, back in the Divine Realm…
Tang San sat upon the supreme throne of the God King, his former sullen expression replaced with an arrogant smile.
"For a mortal, you are indeed talented," he mused. "But you overreach challenging a God King. I would have welcomed you as a subordinate, yet you lack that fortune. You'll end up a stepping stone for my divine son and his allies."
Watching Tang San's gloating, many gods around him felt a mix of irritation and disbelief.
Tang San's interference had somewhat dulled the entertainment for them, yet technically, he hadn't broken any laws. Though it lacked integrity, Tang San hadn't violated divine regulations, making his actions perfectly legal.
Yet it felt wrong, and the gods found themselves in an uncomfortable silence though not everyone stayed quiet.
The Space God spoke up, "God of Destruction, perhaps it's time to revisit the divine laws. When gods can exploit loopholes to interfere with the natural order below, it disrupts the Divine Realm's growth. Though we are gods, we each have our limits. If we stifle the growth of the next generations, the Divine Realm itself will eventually rot."
His bold statement drew every eye. Many gods soon wore knowing, slightly mocking smiles, delighted to see someone finally say what they had all been thinking.
The Seven Elemental Gods, bound together by common purpose and powerful enough to oppose a God King who wasn't Supreme, had nothing to fear. If they ultimately transferred their positions, they could leave the Divine Realm behind, unafraid to challenge Tang San.
Tang San's face immediately darkened. He prided himself on being above reproach, and it had been eons since anyone dared to criticize him so openly. But with the Space God's pointed, indirect comment, Tang San couldn't respond without admitting guilt.
Then, the God of Destruction spoke, nodding approvingly. "Indeed. Let's put this on the agenda for the next divine assembly. The Divine Realm has been stagnant for too long. It's time to ensure its greatness again."
The gathered gods nodded in agreement, some even nostalgic for the days of the former Kindness and Evil God Kings, known for their fair minded rulings. While the former God King of Shura had once been esteemed, today's events had opened their eyes to Tang San's true nature.
Despite their frustrations, they had to stay silent, bound by the limits of their positions.
This was the Divine Realm now.
