Chapter 300: The Vast Sea God King, Part 2
Ye Wen had always assumed that the Sea God's powers revolved around the rule of water, focusing on the vastness of the ocean. This belief had influenced his entire approach to cultivating his divine powers. However, after some recent insights, a new perspective emerged, suggesting that perhaps the essence of the Sea God wasn't confined solely to the waters of the ocean.
Through his godhood, Ye Wen once again accessed the realm of universal laws a mystical domain, impenetrable to mortals, where the threads of power governing existence converged. Though other rules remained inaccessible, Ye Wen could see a majestic, blue and white pathway extending endlessly before him.
"I hope my intuition is correct," he murmured as he stepped into this grand avenue, immersing himself fully in the mysteries of this path, time slipping away unnoticed.
After an indeterminate period, an unprecedented surge of energy burst from the Sea God's Temple, sending a radiant white beam skyward that rattled the entire Divine Realm. The first to sense this extraordinary event were the Four Divine Kings.
The Destruction God King, long an advocate for fortifying the Divine Realm against threats from the universe, smiled broadly as he sensed the immense power emanating from the Sea God's Temple. "Hahaha, it seems we are about to return to an era of five God Kings. This is indeed a cause for celebration!"
The other three Divine Kings nodded in agreement. Only those at their level could comprehend the terrifying unknowns lurking in the universe's depths. Although they inhabited a remote corner of the cosmos, they couldn't rule out the possibility of outside forces seeking to intrude one day. Having Ye Wen attain godhood of this caliber was reassuring, especially considering his character was trustworthy unlike the disruptive and chaotic Asura God, who had often stirred unnecessary conflict.
The newly ascended gods, unfamiliar with the spectacle of a Divine King's breakthrough, stared in bewilderment until the ancient gods among them whispered in awe. Finally, understanding dawned on them, and with reverence and envy, they began to make their way to congratulate Ye Wen.
Yet as Ye Wen was in a critical stage of his breakthrough, he could not afford any distractions. Standing guard at the entrance, Bibi Dong and Qian Xue took up positions as the gatekeepers, intercepting any approaching deities.
The sight of these two goddesses both peak level First Level Gods filled the gathered gods with complex emotions. Their own admiration was tinged with envy; here was a young god who had attained divinity and, as if that were not enough, had two stunning goddesses as his consorts, both among the Divine Realm's elite.
Suddenly, a powerful and menacing aura, laced with a lethal intent, permeated the air, drawing the wary attention of the assembled gods. A new figure in blood red divine armor, wielding a long blade, approached slowly and stationed himself beside Bibi Dong and Qian Xue.
"Master is in the midst of a breakthrough. I kindly ask that no one disturb him," he said in a cold, detached voice. This figure was none other than Dao Ba, the newly appointed Asura God.
Many gods turned pale, their faces showing awe and respect. Among those most affected was the God of Slaughter, who had once served under the former Asura God King. The Asura God King had deserted him, leaving him in a precarious position within the Divine Realm. His attempts to join Ye Wen's side had been rebuffed, forcing him to seek refuge under the Destruction God King. Though not quite a "three faced servant," he knew his standing was not what it once was.
The gods began to murmur.
"So, this is the infamous new Asura God? Even at the Second Level God stage, his presence is on par with a First Level God. Remarkable…"
"Ye Wen must have an incredible eye to find such a perfect match for the Asura godhood," another observed.
"Hold on… wasn't the Asura's weapon supposed to be the Asura Demon Sword? Why is he wielding a blade?"
Dao Ba ignored their remarks. As long as they didn't overstep, he paid them no mind. As for the weapon change, that was, of course, due to Ye Wen's intervention.
Upon receiving the Asura inheritance, Ye Wen had noticed the Asura Demon Sword's techniques were surprisingly scarce, with more emphasis on manipulating Asura's divine energy. Seizing the opportunity, Ye Wen had modified the weapon to better suit Dao Ba's unique style. Now wielding the Demonblade of Asura, Dao Ba's weapon retained the former Asura God's power but with a design that perfectly complemented his skillset.
The pillar of light continued to radiate for some time before fading, only to be replaced by a vast and terrifying divine aura that left even the most hardened gods in stunned silence.
"So this… is the might of a God King. Truly overwhelming…"
The awe inspiring presence of a God King filled their minds as footsteps echoed from within the Sea God's Temple. Ye Wen emerged, clad in a golden and blue armor adorned with three golden prongs upon his crown. Although he wore the same Sea God attire, the sheer majesty he exuded far surpassed any First Level God. Those who had come to celebrate his ascension immediately straightened, solemnly bowing in respect.
"Hail to the Sea God."
Ye Wen inclined his head in acknowledgment, retracting his aura with some difficulty. Adjusting to the newfound power would take time; occasionally, his suppressed energy would inadvertently surge forth.
"From this day forward, I shall no longer be known as the Sea God," he announced, his statement causing the gods to exchange nervous glances. Surely he wasn't planning to abandon them already?
Ye Wen's next words, however, put them at ease.
"I have gained new insights into my godhood and will henceforth be known as the Vast Sea God King. I've been summoned by the Divine Kings, so I will forgo formalities for now. But rest assured, I will hold a gathering soon and would be honored if you all attended."
Ye Wen's courteous demeanor earned him the goodwill of many, who urged him to proceed without delay; matters of the Divine Kings were paramount.
As Ye Wen departed, becoming a beam of light heading for the Divine Realm's central council, the gods felt a mix of admiration and envy. Ye Wen had been among the Divine Realm's most respected deities before, but his new status as a God King marked an unbridgeable gulf between them.
Many First Level Gods, however, were left deep in thought. Why had Ye Wen changed his title from "Sea" to "Vast Sea"? Could there be a hidden insight within this alteration, an esoteric secret to breaking through to the God King level?
