Chapter 282: Asura vs. Sea God, Part One
Tang San, a master of assassination, was unfazed by Ye Wen's taunts. As soon as Ye Wen's spatial teleportation took them over open waters, Tang San launched his assault, intending to kill Ye Wen instantly. But Ye Wen, no stranger to combat, reacted swiftly, retreating backward with incredible speed.
Ye Wen activated Space Step, a personal escape technique he had refined since becoming a god. To him, divine power was nearly limitless, able to manipulate rules and realities, as long as the power behind it was sufficient. Moments ago, Tang San's godly strength had locked onto his position within the Space Step, allowing him to land a blow.
Asura's divine power brought a relentless killing intent, creating a wound on Ye Wen that wouldn't heal a reminder of the fearsome nature of the god responsible for enforcing divine order. This was the power of a true enforcement god, capable of wounding even another god.
The gods of the Divine Realm watched with bated breath. They had always known that the power of the five great Divine Kings was unmatched, but witnessing it in action was something else. To see a god suffering lasting wounds was alarming even to these beings who considered themselves immortal.
Seeing his protégé's successful attack, Asura gave a sidelong, mocking glance at the Sea God, who simply laughed, unfazed, as he watched the clash unfold.
Yet, for Ye Wen, Tang San's attack was far from insurmountable. He lifted his left hand, revealing a glimmering Time Orb encircled by a golden soul ring.
"Rewind."
To the amazement of the watching gods, Ye Wen's wound instantly closed, his clothing restored to its former state. Lesser gods were left wondering at the sight, while the Five Divine Kings murmured in astonishment.
The God of Life spoke first. "This second generation Sea God is extraordinary. He's mastered the Laws of Time."
The God of Destruction nodded. "Time manipulation is among the highest forms of divine law. Even in our universe, it's rare. This control, even over one's physical state, indicates a potential to comprehend Time itself. He may even have what it takes to rival us one day."
The Gods of Kindness and Wickedness, watching intently, said nothing but were intrigued by how the battle would unfold.
Asura glanced at the Sea God with a frown, muttering to himself. The idea that such a powerful soul could emerge from Douluo Star disturbed him. Tang San was in far more danger than he'd anticipated.
Tang San didn't understand how Ye Wen had healed, but he knew one thing Ye Wen wasn't just a Titled Douluo; he was a god.
With the Shura Divine Sword raised high, Tang San spoke coldly. "If you truly are a god, Ye Wen, then reveal your divine name. Hiding is unbecoming."
Ye Wen only smiled, ignoring the taunt. With a burst of blue light, he summoned his godly armor.
"I am Ye Wen, the Sea God," he announced calmly. "Come now, Little Tang San. Show me the true power of the Asura God."
Seeing Ye Wen clad in his majestic, divine Sea God armor, Tang San's face darkened as he donned his own Shura God armor a terrifying blend of crimson and darkness, emanating dominance and bloodlust.
"So, Little Tang San, you've truly grown stronger," Ye Wen teased, though his eyes were sharp, studying every detail of Tang San's armor.
The difference in Tang San's demeanor was clear. His stare now was one of cold, supreme confidence, as though already considering Ye Wen dead. Then, a thought struck Ye Wen: unlike in the original story, Tang San hadn't purified his soul with Tang Yuehua's support. Instead, he'd spent the past five years in seclusion with Tang Hao.
No wonder something seemed off. Tang San was being influenced by his negative emotions, lacking the original's calm, collected mentality. Asura, it seemed, had accepted a flawed successor, perhaps intentionally.
A deadly aura surged around Tang San, thick with killing intent. The sea beneath began to writhe with the power of death, suffocating fish that floated up, lifeless, in a grotesque display.
With a twisted smile, Tang San exuded an aura of deadly confidence. Ye Wen sensed a trap a carefully prepared death blow, just waiting for him to walk into it.
Attempting to teleport, he was stopped short. Six massive, blood colored swords surrounded him, locking him in place.
"Domain Unleashed: Asura's Path!"
Amazed, Ye Wen looked at the sudden cage. "Asura, you damn scoundrel! You really had him replicate my trick!"
Yet he quickly calmed himself. If others could replicate his strategies without his guidance, so be it; they deserved credit.
Ye Wen had chosen the ocean as the battlefield, knowing it granted him a power advantage, but that advantage vanished as Tang San activated his domain. Now, Tang San towered above him, like a supreme deity reigning over countless lives. As this was Asura's own creation, Ye Wen refrained from recklessness, wary of its hidden effects.
"Ye Wen, do you understand your sins?" Tang San's voice thundered from above.
In response, Ye Wen unleashed a burst of Accelerated Crimson!
Unfazed, Tang San's sword appeared before him, effortlessly deflecting Ye Wen's attack.
In that instant, Ye Wen noticed his strike's trajectory had been twisted, diverted off course. His eyes narrowed.
The Divine Realm's gods were equally stunned by the appearance of the domain. It formed a massive, spherical boundary around Tang San and Ye Wen, isolating them from view. For Tang San to use space altering techniques without possessing space oriented attributes was highly unusual.
