Chapter 244 - War on a Certain Planet

"Good thing we ran fast, otherwise we'd have offended the gods again... Can't you kids just behave for once?!" I scolded them in frustration.

"Forget it, Yijie isn't such a narrow-minded God Master anyway. But you kids need to be more careful next time," Suōshā came over to smooth things over.

"I am truly deeply sorry. They were formed from my resentment, yet even now they continue to bring trouble to everyone..." Zi Mi pulled the little girls along, apologizing with deep guilt.

"Sister Zi Mi, there's no need to treat us like strangers. On the other hand, Hubby, as the new God of Creation, you don't show an ounce of an imposing aura! They're just kids fooling around—is there any need to always bow low and apologize? Just dismiss them with a few casual words. You need to stand taller and have a backbone from now on~" Suōshā actually started nagging me about my passivity instead.

"They're the God Masters of this universe after all, we still have to respect their seniority," I replied, scratching my head.

"Alright, we also need to get used to the kids' personalities, so let's not blame them anymore. Let's keep moving~" Enis proposed.

"Fine then. Suōshā, sense where your father is located so I don't have to search for him myself."

"Found him. He's at the deep black hole in the Tiange Sector. It seems Father is probably in seclusion cultivating," Suōshā biasly murmured in thought.

"Hopefully we won't disturb the old master. Let's go visit him," I smiled and led everyone as we set off.

On the vast edge of the Boundless Universe, in a remote corner of stars, a resource-rich planet was currently under attack by a higher civilization. Although this planet possessed a level of technology roughly similar to Earth's, facing the overwhelming assault of higher-dimensional beings left them with absolutely no strength to fight back. The so-called Dark Forest law holds true regardless of which universe you are in—if you cannot gain the protection of gods, you will be cast into a ruthless slaughter devoid of rules. The humans on this planet were about to face their ultimate doom.

"Jiedi, run! The aircraft in the armory should be functional. Take the remaining teammates and get out of here!" Musuo barked his final order while laying down suppressing fire at the doorway with an energy rifle.

"Captain, how could I leave you behind?! I don't want to have to apologize to Feiying!" He shook his head frantically, firing off a few more beams of light.

"This is an order! Don't move! Doni and the others are precious researchers—whether we can decipher these enemies' weaknesses depends entirely on them. Our lives aren't worth mentioning, now get out! Protect them for me!" With that, Musuo grabbed Jiedi by the collar and hurled him out.

"Captain... Damn it, don't you dare die!" Although Jiedi couldn't bear to leave, at this moment he had no choice but to follow orders.

"Everyone follow me!" Jiedi ran into the command center and shouted to the crew.

"Where is Captain Musuo?" Batian stepped forward to ask.

"The Captain... The Captain ordered us to retreat first. There's no time, hurry!" Jiedi urged the team members in the command center. Everyone felt a heavy pang in their hearts; if they delayed any longer, they would waste the precious time the Captain had bought with his life.

Led by Jiedi, the group reached the armory hangar. Everyone quickly boarded the craft and prepared for takeoff. Just then, a massive energy explosion blasted open the hangar roof, and debris nearly struck the aircraft. Fortunately, they narrowly escaped unharmed. Jiedi and Batian worked together to operate the aircraft, causing it to slowly rise out of the hangar.

"Set off!" He pushed the throttle hard, and the aircraft soared into the sky like a swift bird.

"Where are we heading first?" Batian asked while holding the co-pilot steering wheel.

"There's an underground military facility in the west. Let's head there first."

"Oh no, look behind us!" Enya, who was on the same craft, noticed two enemy flight vehicles chasing them from behind.

"Damn it, of all times..." Jiedi gripped the steering wheel and fled frantically. However, in terms of performance, it was simply no match for the flight vehicles piloted by those higher-dimensional beings. Following a few targeted bursts of green light from behind, the aircraft was struck after all and caught fire.

"Flight stability is severely compromised, we're going down!" Batian cried out in a cold sweat. Although the two tried with all their might to regain control, the aircraft—having lost power on one side—was ultimately beyond saving, plunging slowly toward the ground.
