Chapter 235 - A Starry Night

Before we knew it, I had already performed more than a dozen piano pieces in various styles, and the little girls were starting to yawn. "Tonight's concert ends here. Everyone, go get some rest early," I said, closing the piano lid.

Enis and the others led the little girls away from their seats and into the house. "Say goodnight to white," Suōshā gestured to them. "Goodnight, bad Master~" They made funny faces at me and happily trotted inside. I waved my hand helplessly in response, then remained standing in the courtyard alone, gazing at the moon.

After a while, Enis stepped out of the house to look for me. "Hubby, they've already fallen asleep."

"Mhm. With eight little troublemakers added to the house, it's going to be hard on you all from now on," I turned around and said apologetically.

"With more family members, this vast Eden actually feels a bit more lively," Enis replied nonchalantly, tossing her long hair.

"I know what's on your mind. It's been hundreds of years since you last saw Badi and the others. Let's go visit them tomorrow," I said, putting my arm around her shoulder. "However, even if Badi possesses a long lifespan, Kaiabona and the others are ultimately of mortal flesh. Going there now means we'll only be able to see their descendants. Let us return to that familiar past once again."

"Mhm, Hubby. We now possess endless years of life, but even the Demon Race has a lifespan limit. Even someone like Badi will leave us one day, and the only ones we can lean on are each other. The thought of those familiar figures gradually leaving us makes me feel a bit sentimental inside..." Enis let out a soft sigh and leaned against me.

"So what if I've become a god? So what if I'm the strongest? I would rather hand over this detestable title to someone else. We ended the cycle of reincarnation, yet we can never step into it again ourselves. To have you all bear such a cruel price with me... I am truly filled with guilt," I said heavily, venting my loneliness to the starry sky.

"One person is lonely, but a few people together are no longer lonely. Having a home to return to, endless funny stories to tell, music we never tire of hearing, delicacies we never finish tasting, and lively little members—all of these make loneliness pale in comparison. So, Hubby, please don't carry such a heavy heart anymore, because we are the source of your happiness," Enis's words of encouragement made my nose tingle with emotion.

I held her even tighter. "Thank you, wife. Being able to marry you is the greatest honor of my life. Your words have completely opened my eyes~"

"What are you two whispering about secretly~" Suōshā and Zi Mi walked over at this moment.

"Nothing. We were just discussing going back to Enis's home planet tomorrow to visit family. Over the next few days, we'll take turns visiting your homelands too," I replied with a smile.

"It will be my first time visiting Older Sister's planet too, I'm really looking forward to it~" Zi Mi chimed in with a laugh.

"Staying in Eden all the time can get boring. In the future, let's travel outside more often to see the world. Since we have all this power and nowhere to use it, let's just act as guardians of justice~" A bright idea popped into my head, and I proposed it on a whim.

"Hubby truly can't sit still. Alright, this concubine will follow you forever," Suōshā covered her mouth and giggled.

"Those eight certainly won't guard the house obediently either. Let's bring them along tomorrow too," Enis said with an expression that saw through everything.

Naturally, I agreed. "I just hope nothing goes wrong..." Zi Mi was a bit worried.

"What bad intentions could a bunch of little girls possibly have? If something really happens, I'll fix it," I patted my chest confidently. Seeing this, she didn't say anything more.

"Then it's settled. The four of us can definitely keep them under control~" Enis also said with a smile.

Afterward, we chatted about some random topics. Seeing that it was getting late, we headed inside to sleep, recharging our energy for a brand-new tomorrow.
