Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The True Dragon Academy

A Dragon, hundreds of metres in stature, strode upon the earth.

Like a mobile volcano, she projected her terrifying aspect upon the surrounding environment.

Wherever she passed, rocks shattered and scorched earth bloomed in her wake.

It sounded like an ambulatory natural disaster, but in reality... Winters was merely taking us five wyrmlings for a promenade.

To say it was a walk is perhaps not entirely accurate.

She was principally acquainting us five newborn fledglings with the environment we would inhabit in the future and, incidentally, elucidating the survival tenets for young dragons.

"Desidero is exceedingly safe, but that applies to wyrmlings who already possess the capacity for self-preservation.

You, who have just emerged, are clearly not included in that category.

Many Sap-Sipper Wyrmfiends dwell within the jungle.

They are generally gentle, but that does not imply that, should they enter a frenzied state, they can be withstood by a fledgling newly hatched.

Thus, in the days to come, you will not possess the prerogative to venture out unaccompanied.

Unless you can skillfully employ some rudimentary magic."

"Is it because rudimentary magic can contend with those frenzied Wyrmfiends?"

As Billy spoke, a hint of excitement flashed in his eyes.

Newborn wyrmlings possess a potent curiosity about all things, especially the combat instinct etched deep within their bloodline.

Hearing this, Winters chuckled (that characteristically ferocious smile).

"Assuredly not!

Even rudimentary magic possesses varying potency depending on the Dragon wielding it.

In your case, rudimentary magic will, at most, allow you to shatter gravel.

The reason I state this is simply because if you can employ rudimentary magic, it signifies you have sufficient magic stored within your being to sustain flight for a period.

And during this interval, the True Dragons nearby who hear the commotion will be able to rescue you from the clutches of those Wyrmfiends in a timely manner."

At these words, the four young drakes, who had just been holding their heads high, immediately deflated.

Awaiting rescue from other Dragons—what sort of prospect was that?

I, who was huddled to the side, observing coldly, couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

Utterly ignorant of their own limitations!

Winters' meaning was already abundantly clear: Desidero posed a certain danger to young dragons such as ourselves.

Instead of contemplating how to mature safely at this juncture, they were preoccupied with using magic to battle Wyrmfiends.

Were these creatures' brains fractured?

Did they not know that curiosity dispatched the proverbial cat?

Speaking of felines, I wondered if any fluffy creatures existed in this world, but even if they did...

I looked at my left claw, then raised my right claw and scratched it.

Accompanied by a metallic friction sound, the claw scraped a small ember upon the Dragon Scale.

And I only felt a slight itching in my right claw.

Can someone like me truly experience the so-called pliancy and fluffiness?

Thinking of this, my mood became somewhat despondent again, inexplicably feeling as though I were missing out on a distinct pleasure.

Just then, the rumbling sound in my ears ceased.

I was momentarily stunned, then looked up at Winters with some confusion, wondering why she had halted.

Winters evidently had no intention of concealing anything from us wyrmlings.

"We have arrived!

For the next century, you will reside together here!"

Hearing this, we five fledglings were momentarily stunned, then I looked up at the distant canyon cliffs and the Dragon Dens nestled upon them.

"Isn't the Dragon Den situated over there?"

Hearing this, Winters shook his head with a smile.

"No!

The Dragon Den is a place where adult True Dragons may reside, and where you will stay is—Desidero True Dragon Academy!"

As he spoke, Winters took a step forward, and the surrounding space rippled in the shocked eyes of the Five-Headed Little Dragon.

Then everything blurred before their eyes, and when their vision returned, a large expanse of huge stone buildings exuding an ancient aura appeared in front of the Five-Headed Little Dragon.

The bursts of dragon roars coming from inside made them shrink their necks involuntarily, as they felt a sense of threat from it.

Also, this building is really big!

The door they saw was much taller than Winters.

In Vet's eyes, this huge building was like a huge conical Volcano, except that there was no hot Magma here!

Winters looked at the stunned Five-Headed Little Dragon, smiled, and then said, "Welcome to Desidero True Dragon Academy, I am the Dean of the Academy, Winters!"

"Of course, you can still call me Ms.

Winters!"

"Also, you can call me Dean!"

Looking at the huge building in front of him, Vet's eyes flashed with a hint of vigilance.

"Why do you want us to join the Giant Dragon Academy?"

"If you want to become a powerful Giant Dragon, then just having inherited memories is not enough!"

Hearing this, Vet's face looked a little unsightly.

Noticing Vet's expression, Winters smiled gently (ferociously).

"I said, Vet, don't worry about your bloodline inheritance!

Giant Dragon Academy has enough knowledge for you to study for a lifetime, and they are all placed in the Giant Dragon Library, waiting for you to learn them, which naturally includes the basic knowledge in bloodline inheritance.

It's just that without the help of bloodline inheritance, you will have more difficulty learning!"

Saying that, Winters flew towards the huge door.

As Winters approached, the huge door slowly opened with a series of dull mechanical sounds!

At the same time, the roar of dragons coming from inside gradually became louder.

Winters stopped in front of the door with the Five-Headed Little Dragon, folded his wings, and walked into it.

The appearance of the Academy was also displayed in front of the Five-Headed Little Dragon.

What came into view was a huge flat square.

Hundreds of Giant Dragons of different races and sizes were either playing, fighting, or freely flying, which looked really lively!

Even though the Giant Dragon Academy's dean had just returned, they still didn't seem to want to stop.

Vet looked up at Winters, who was just watching the dragons with tenderness and pride in his eyes!

Seeing this, Vet's expression faltered, and his originally tense spirit relaxed a little unconsciously.

Afterward, his gaze turned to the surrounding buildings!

Just like what was seen from the outside, the entire building was cone-shaped with an open top, allowing light from the outside to enter the massive Academy.

The Academy is divided into nine levels, each with corridors wide enough for several Giant Dragons the size of Winters to easily pass side by side, and huge stone pillars about a hundred meters thick serving as supports for the upper-level corridors.

There are no stairs, because dragons can fly!

Apart from the corridors and stone pillars, the rest was clearly not built by the dragons.

This place should have really been a Volcano!

In short, it's magnificent!
