Chapter 15 - Chapter 15- The Second Floor

Li Wei had heard some rumors about the second floor of "Wilderness Delicacies."

Block 17 doesn't have any masters, relatively speaking. Although the average quality is not very high, if you really look, there are still three to five people who have completed extreme tempering.

The so-called second floor of the tavern is only open to these people. It is said that only on the second floor of the tavern, there are missions that true demon hunters are eligible to take.

The gray industry missions on the first floor are actually nothing to speak of.

Walking up to the second floor, it was empty. Such a large tavern, there was only a woman with leather pants, a leather jacket, and purple hair, sitting at the bar drinking by herself.

Erin made an introduction: "This is Judith, a senior hunter from the Four-leaf Grass branch of the Upper District."

Li Wei looked at Erin's seemingly smiling appearance and didn't know what she meant. However, since she introduced, he politely greeted Judith.

Judith nodded towards Lee and then focused on drinking her wine, showing no intention of engaging in conversation.

Lee touched his nose, realizing that this woman was somewhat aloof. However, as a young elite hunter, she had every right to be.

The Hunter's Guild had its own strength assessment for its members. An elite hunter, this meant someone capable of independently completing A-class missions and participating in team-based S-class missions. This also represented that Judith, as an elite hunter, was an expert on the verge of completing, or maybe even having already completed, elemental manifestation!

How could such a person be sitting alone on the second floor of a shabby tavern like Wilderness Delights, drinking?

However, this was none of his business.

Turning his head, he saw Eileen walk over to a table in the corner and pour two glasses of wine and a cup of juice. Lee also followed suit.

After handing the wine glasses and juice to Levi and Yasha, Erin also took a sip of wine and asked, "Where's the token? Show it."

Levi untied the cloth bag around his waist, placed it on the table, and opened it, revealing Zhang Xi's head with tightly closed eyes.

Erin examined it for a while and nodded satisfactorily, saying, "No problem, no problem, indeed, I didn't misjudge you. Judith! Judith! Come over here! What are you hiding for? It's just losing five amethysts, what's the big deal!"

Judith, sitting on the side, reluctantly walked over and took out five amethysts from her pocket, placing them on the table, and said to Levi with annoyance, "This is all your fault!"

Levi felt both angry and amused. He was not stupid; he could tell that these two women had bet on him.

Judith frowned and said, "That low-level vampire is really pathetic, he was actually killed by you, a rookie who hasn't even completed the Ultimate Training. Damn it, if Eileen hadn't given you those Light Carving Bullets in advance, you definitely wouldn't have been able to handle it!"

Li Wei smiled without saying a word. Those Light Carving Bullets indeed provided him with great help. If he hadn't taken the opportunity to sneak attack and send seven bullets into Zhang Xi's body, turning him into a critical condition, Li Wei believed he wouldn't have been able to hold out and accumulate the Sword Intent necessary for two Steel Chopping Flashes, nor managed to make a Methane-Infused Slash to turn the tide of the battle.

However, to say that he relied solely on the Light Carving Bullets to win the fight would be seriously underestimating him.

However, Li Wei is well aware of the actual situation, so why argue with others? The ultimate result is that he brought back Zhang Xi's head and successfully completed the mission, which is the most important.

As for Judith's biased view of people, Li Wei is not her father, so there's no need for him to correct her values.

He didn't mind, but Aileen next to him was unhappy. She said, "Judith, that's not right. Just five years ago, when you had just completed the extreme tempering, you encountered a lower-level vampire. Do you remember how you cried and said how horrible vampires were?"

Unsparingly exposed the old bottom, Judith's expression changed.

She fumed: "How can it be the same?!"

Irene didn't spare her any face either: "How is it any different? You had already completed the Extreme Tempering back then, and even your fire talent ability had manifested, yet you ended up crying from the scare of a lower-level vampire. Look at Levi here. He's still a ways off from Extreme Tempering, yet he managed to take out a vampire with a rusty gun and a little over twenty bullets! What do you have to compare with him?"

After being talked down to by Irene like this, Judith didn't know what to say. She huffed and walked away, showing no intention of staying here any longer.

It seems that Irene's status is also extraordinary. She wouldn't dare to speak to a high-level demon hunter like that unless her own identity was on an equal footing.

Levi clicked his tongue in amazement: When did the rundown 17th Street become such a place where hidden dragons and crouching tigers reside?

"Alright, stop looking." Erin waved her hand and said, "I'll take the vampire's head, and the reward for this C-level commission should be five amethysts. The light runes you got from me before were worth thirty sapphires in total. After the mission is settled, you still have a reward of four amethysts and seventy sapphires with me. Do you want cash or gene solution?"

This is the benefit of completing the guild's commissions. Gene solution is not something you can buy solely with money, especially through legitimate channels. Governments, temples, academies, hunter guilds... these organizations all sell gene solutions to the public, but purchasing them requires not only money but also certain qualifications. Let's not discuss other forces for the time being, in the hunter guild, to buy a gene solution, one must complete a corresponding commission of the same rank. A commission represents a purchase qualification. Ten lower-level qualifications can be exchanged for a higher-level qualification upwards.

Following Li Wei's instructions this time, he accomplished a class C commission, earning five purple crystals as a reward, as well as a purchase quota for a class C gene liquid.

"I'll take the class C gene liquid then."

"Alright, but the class C gene liquid is worth five purple crystals. You need to give me thirty blue crystals."

After consideration, the price is roughly the same.

A class D gene liquid, with a public selling price of around fifty blue crystals. Increasing one level, the price tenfold, is nothing strange.

If there was anything beyond Li Wei's imagination, it was the Light Inscription Rounds. These actually cost more than one blue crystal each! They are really expensive, a hundred times more costly than ordinary bullets.

However, when considering the effectiveness, this item is worth the price. Ordinary bullets wouldn't inflict damage even with a hundred shots against supernatural creatures such as vampires.

"Give you thirty, thirty it is, I want the gene liquid."

Erin walked behind the bar and took a small box from the cabinet, handing it to Levi.

Naturally, what was contained in that box was a Class C gene solution.

With this, the Class C mission could be considered completed in process.

"Who is this little girl?" Once the mission was settled, Erin's attention turned to another matter. She pointed at Yasha and asked, "She's not your illegitimate daughter, is she?"
