The mermaids twirled and laughed, scales shimmering like gemstones under the lantern-jellies, and Damon and Mark looked as if they were hypnotized, spellbound fools basking in the attention. They were just fish women for godsake!
She exhaled loudly through her nose, muttering under her breath, "They're impossible. Absolutely impossible. Next thing I know, they'll be fighting over who gets to 'respect' the culture more."
