Damon tumbled out into blinding white light.
Snow. Wind. Freedom.
He hit the ground hard, rolled down an icy incline, and came to a stop as his body hit a huge frozen rock. His armor was in tatters. His shield was gone. His mana was nearly drained. But he was alive, and he was out of that mind-fuck prison.
Wait. The others were still inside, and then he remembered Aurora! That blinding white radiance! It had to be her who had sent the attack that completely broke down the wall and gave the final nudge he needed to get the hell out.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! What happened? Is she still alive? All sorts of messy thoughts ran through Damon's mind as he shot back into the breach once again, against his better judgment.
He couldn't. He just couldn't ignore her. No matter how much he knew this was a bad idea, he simply couldn't leave the woman behind, especially knowing that she had helped him out at such a crucial time. He was a villain through and through, but this was his bottom line.
