An unknown desert island on the Grand Line.
Ikki set up two tents and took out some water, food, and cooking utensils.
"Wow... Brother Ikki, you're amazing! How can you just make things appear like that?"
Isoka, the only girl, watched Ikki's every move with curiosity.
"Because I'm powerful, of course!" Ikki said proudly. Then, turning to Rapanui, who was helping set up the tent, he asked, "Rapanui, do you want to become stronger?"
Rapanui was momentarily stunned by the question, but his expression soon turned firm. "Of course! I want to protect my friends—I can't let them get hurt again!"
Ikki nodded at his determination and then pulled out a few books from his storage ring.
These were martial arts manuals he had picked up from the martial world some time ago, including Dog Beating Stick Technique, Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms, Sadly Ecstasy Palm, Finger Flick Magical Power, and Six Meridians Divine Sword.
Each book had been translated, since people in this world wouldn't understand the original Chinese characters.
Rapanui looked puzzled as he stared at the books.
Ikki chuckled and said, "Pick one! These are magical techniques. If you can grasp them, you'll become insanely strong!"
Truthfully, Ikki wasn't sure if people in the One Piece world could cultivate internal energy. Their bodies were already monstrous compared to normal humans. Even though Rapanui was still young, his strength was ridiculous—he could flick a massive yellow monster fish away with ease. His potential was undeniable.
This uncertainty intrigued Ikki. He wouldn't know if Rapanui could truly master these techniques, how long it would take, or how powerful he could become. But it was worth testing.
Besides, Rapanui was from fifty years ago. When he returned to the present, Ikki would get to see the results of his training firsthand. If he succeeded, he could share his insights—killing two birds with one stone.
Rapanui carefully examined the books before finally choosing Finger Flick Magical Power.
Seeing his choice, Ikki stored away the remaining manuals.
"This technique is a bit tricky. If you ever get stuck, try studying some medical knowledge—it might help you understand it better," Ikki advised.
"Got it! Thanks, Brother Ikki!"
"Haha..." Ikki laughed. "By the time we meet again, I might have to call you 'Uncle'!"
Rapanui: ...
Hearing that, Isoka and the others burst into laughter.
Just then, Ace returned from hunting, carrying two massive wild boars over his shoulders.
After Ikki swiftly cleaned the meat with a knife, Isoka stepped forward.
"I'll handle the cooking!" she declared confidently.
Ikki was surprised. He hadn't expected Isoka to actually know how to cook.
"Brother Ikki! When we were trapped in the rainbow-colored mist, Isoka was the one cooking for us! She is really skilled!"
Pukau spoke proudly as he inhaled the delicious aroma of the roasting meat, as if he were the one responsible for it.
Soon, the table was filled with food, with the two wild boars as the main dish.
As they enjoyed their meal, a Marine warship bearing the seagull flag gradually approached the island.
Standing at the bow of the warship were two burly men and an elegant yet commanding woman.
"Huh? There's cooking smoke coming from that deserted island we were fighting on earlier," said a man with an afro, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
"That island isn't exclusive to us. It's not unusual for people to be there," the short-haired man with a ring of scars around his left eye scoffed as he continued eating.
"Hey! Garp, do you just have to argue with me about everything?!"
"Bwahaha! Who's arguing? Don't forget—I beat you black and blue last time!"
"Enough already!"
A sharp voice cut through their bickering.
The two men immediately fell silent.
The surrounding Marines, who had been standing quietly, felt a shiver run down their spines at the commanding tone of the female officer.
Whispers soon spread among the crew.
"The only one who can keep Lieutenant Garp and Lieutenant Sengoku in check is Lieutenant Tsuru!"
"Not just her... The Fleet Admiral could too!"
"Also... Garp isn't a major general anymore. He's been promoted to Lieutenant Commander."
"A Lieutenant Commander before the age of thirty… As expected Mr. Garp!"
Indeed, the two men, who appeared to be in their twenties, were none other than the future Marine hero—Monkey D. Garp and Sengoku, the future Fleet Admiral. The composed and dignified woman with them was none other than Tsuru, the future Great Staff Officer of the Marines.
Just as Garp and Sengoku quieted down, a Marine lookout with a telescope suddenly called out, "There are people waving at us from the island! Looks like a bunch of kids!"
Sengoku's expression immediately turned serious. "Full speed ahead!" he ordered.
He knew that Garp had filled that island with wild animals for his so-called 'training'—which was really just an excuse to fight. If those kids had wandered into the forest, they were in grave danger.
Garp realized it too. The thought of children getting caught up in his reckless habit of stocking islands with dangerous beasts made him grimace.
After all, this wasn't just any deserted island—this was one of Garp and Sengoku's personal training grounds. Whenever they fought here, they'd naturally work up an appetite, so Garp had released wild boars, crocodiles, tigers, lions, and all sorts of beasts onto the island. Whenever he got hungry, he'd just catch one and roast it.
Without a second thought, Garp kicked off the deck and shot toward the island, using Moonwalk to close the distance in an instant.
On the island.
Led by Rapanui, the kids were waving and shouting as loudly as they could, hoping the Marine warship would notice them.
"Rapanui! The Marine warship is coming this way!" Isoka cheered.
Rapanui nodded, then turned his gaze toward the jungle behind him, where Ikki and Ace were hiding.
Once Rapanui and the others safely boarded the warship, Ikki planned to take Ace and test the Rabbit Talisman's time-travel ability.
Suddenly—
Boom!
A deafening sound erupted in the air, followed by a blast of wind and sand.
As the dust settled, a muscular Marine in uniform stood before them, his cloak of justice billowing behind him.
"Kids," he said with a grin. "How'd you end up on this island? You didn't run into any trouble, did you?"
