[Salvo's POV]
"What are you gonna do?" Bianca asked quietly.
I pressed my fingers to my temple, the dull ache in my skull pulsing like it had a heartbeat of its own.
"I don't know," I muttered, exhaling. "But since it was our mistake…" My voice dropped. "We should take responsibility."
She lowered her head, guilt flickering across her face.
"It was my fault," she whispered. "I… I was the one who extended his stay there. I thought it'd make him… realize what he has done."
I leaned back on the sofa, dragging a slow breath into my lungs. The silence that followed was thick, heavy with the kind of regret that sits in your bones.
Then—
THUD.
Bianca flinched. We both froze.
Her eyes widened. "It's coming from your room."
My heart slammed against my ribs.
