The images moved from the conference rooms to cold laboratories.
Children playing in sterilized rooms, adults undergoing tests or strapped to beds while machines were attached to their bodies, others having blood extracted.
It was a chaotic mess that seemed so organized.
"High-value individuals were monitored from birth or after their identification." AA kept explaining.
Leng Pan suddenly understood.
"That archive data you mentioned…" her voice trailed off.
"You were candidates. You all have high intelligence, high emotional thresholds, mental resilience, and are genetically compatible with what is needed." The AA explained further.
This made Leng Pan's stomach turn. To think that someone somewhere had evaluated them like a piece of merchandise just because of their natural endowment of talent and genetics was sickening.
