Chapter 26 - Cassandra.....

I've sent out twenty men and their loyal dogs since the break of dawn," Luther grumbled, frustration written all over his face as he ran a hand through his dishevelled hair. "They've searched every inch for the boss, but it's been completely fruitless."

Cassandra, trying to inject a sliver of hope into the bleakness of the situation, replied softly, "Well… wherever he is, I'm sure he's all right." Her voice had a hint of warmth, offering a stark contrast to the cold reality that surrounded them.

"How did you guys even end up with someone like her, that witch?" Cassandra said

"Cassandra, please," he added, his voice tinged with exhaustion as if he were weary of the storm brewing in her heart.

"What do you mean by 'Cassandra, please'?" she shot back, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Ever since she came into the picture, Liam has stopped talking to me. He won't even answer my calls! Cassandra, or Cassie as Liam often affectionately called her, had been a fixture in his life for countless seasons. Their connection was ambiguous; she was not officially his girlfriend but rather a dear friend—though she often fancied herself as something more.
