Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Try New Things – A Lesson from Him

"Try something new today."

Sounds simple, right? But how often do we actually do it?

We wait for the right time. The perfect moment. But life isn't a movie where everything falls into place magically.

So, why wait?

If you've been thinking about trying that bold lipstick shade—wear it today.

If you've wanted to take a cold shower just to feel refreshed—go for it now.

If you're scared of filing taxes—give it a try. Who knows, you might even surprise yourself.

Call your parents, your best friend, or that one person you've been missing.

Life isn't about waiting. It's about living.

And trust me, I've been there.

I've swum in oceans, climbed mountains, learned languages, played basketball, and even tried ice skating—all without waiting for the 'perfect moment.'

Not because I had money.

Not because I had everything.

But because I wanted to feel everything.

I wanted to collect memories, not regrets.

But do you know where I got this courage from? This maturity?

It wasn't always like this. There was a time when I doubted every step I took. A time when I thought dreams were meant for others—not for me.

Until I met them.

My family, my friends... and him.

Faiz Ibrahim.

The business tycoon the world admires.

The man whose brilliance is unmatched, whose charm is effortless.

But for me, he is much more than that.

He taught me that trying new things isn't about proving something to the world—it's about proving something to yourself.

I still remember that day, years ago, when I was too scared to dream big.

 Flashback – The Movie Encounter

It was supposed to be a casual day out with my cousins—Raha, Isha, and my sister Maha.

A new romantic drama had just hit the theaters, and we were all excited. The movie was about a woman who loved deeply, laughed loudly, and lived fully—until fate stepped in to steal her away too soon.

I remember sitting in that dimly lit theater, eyes glued to the screen as the heroine uttered her final words. My throat tightened. My vision blurred. And before I knew it, tears were streaming down my cheeks.

Frantically, I rummaged through my bag for tissues. Nothing. My hands froze in frustration, but I tried to sit still, hoping no one would notice.

Until...

A small packet of tissues landed gently in my lap.

Surprised, I glanced to my right.

He sat there—calm, composed, and completely unfazed by the emotional chaos unfolding on the screen. His eyes didn't meet mine; he simply continued watching the movie, as though passing tissues to strangers was a normal thing for him.

I took one, wiped my tears, and whispered, "Thank you."

He didn't respond. Just gave the slightest nod.

By the time the credits rolled, my cousins turned to me with curious looks.

"What happened to you?" Raha asked, eyes wide.

I straightened, plastering a fake smile on my face. "Nothing. Just a little...attention-seeking moment," I said with mock confidence.

The guy beside me—still within earshot—exhaled a quiet "Ah."

Was that... amusement?

I didn't dare look his way as we shuffled out of the theater.

But as I walked toward the exit with my cousins, I heard a voice behind me.

"What happened to her?" someone asked.

"Nothing," came the familiar reply. "Just an attention seeker."

I spun around, heart racing.

There he was—talking to a guy who looked like his friend or brother. His lips twitched with the faintest smirk as he met my gaze.

For a second, time paused.

Then Maha pulled me forward, and the moment was gone.

---

That was the first time I met Faiz Ibrahim.

A stranger who threw tissues in my lap.

A boy who teased me without even knowing my name.

Little did I know, our fates had already started to weave around each other, like threads that couldn't be untangled—no matter how hard we tried.

---

So, if you're reading this—

Try that new thing you've been scared of.

It doesn't matter if it's something small or big.

What matters is that you tried.

And trust me, you'll thank yourself for it one day.

And who knows? Maybe, like me, you'll also meet someone who inspires you to dream without fear.

Maybe your Faiz Ibrahim is out there, too.
