The Mind section occupied an entire quadrant of the tower's ground floor, and Ren spent nearly twenty minutes simply narrowing the field before he'd fully understood the shape of the decision in front of him.
There was Fracture Whisper, a weave designed to split an opponent's attention across multiple simultaneous false sensory impressions — powerful, but redundant, Ren decided quickly, against opponents like the elf who apparently didn't process intention through anything as conventional as attention in the first place.
There was Cognitive Lock, a paralytic mind-weave that could freeze a target's decision-making process entirely for several seconds — devastating in theory, but he already had Space Lock performing a similar functional role, and duplicating effects rather than diversifying them felt, to his scientist's instincts, like wasted potential.
Then there was Echo Fracture.
