Chapter 76 - Chapter 76

"YOU GUYS LIVE TOGETHER???!!"

Theresa was furiously pacing left and right around my home as she constantly muttered to herself, ignoring the looks she was getting.

"What the heck? What is going on here?"

"This doesn't make sense? Doesn't Siegfried know about this?"

"There's no way! He can't be that irresponsible right?"

"Wait… he could…"

"Crap…"

"But then again…"

Her sharp gaze suddenly locked onto me before she hurriedly made her way in front of me. She looked at me up to down, some sort of weird glint forming in her eyes as she did so.

Uh oh.

"You're thinking of something weir-"

I wasn't able to finish my words as Theresa laid down her terrifying accusation with a finger pointed at me.

"Are you Siegfried's illegitimate son???!!!"

"No."

"Oh… ok."

A sigh emerged from my lips as I scratched the back of my head.

"I can't believe both you and Kiana asked me the same thing during our first few meetings…"

"Not the first?"

"Nah. Kiana tried to smear me into the wall that time."

"It was a misunderstanding! How many times do I have to tell you that?!!!"

"Ah hem…" Theresa coughed into her fist. "Let's ignore that little outburst I had just now. Can I ask why you all are living together? You must realise how… strange this is…"

"To be fair Principal, they were likely being targetted by Anti-Entropy." Himeko added from the side.

"Oh yeah. That's true." She nodded her head in understanding.

In the meantime, I looked at the girls.

"Told you guys it was kinda weird."

The response was a bunch of tongues stuck out at me.

I can understand Kiana and to an extent, Bronya. But even you, Mei?

What happened to that kind, sweet, polite girl that I knew from a few months ago?

"Gojo." Theresa called out to me. "There is still something I need to inform you about though…"

"What is it?"

"St. Freya Academy…"

"Actually, it only has girls right now."

"???"

What the heck?

"You… you serious?"

The reply was a solemn nod.

"Guys typically don't have the Honkai resistance to go to the front lines. Therefore, they are usually trained to act as logistics if they insist that they want to serve. That type of training is usually done at HQ."

I raised an eyebrow. "Will that be a problem then?"

"Nope." She said with a thumbs up. "Just letting you know beforehand so you don't get confused when you arrive."

Bruh…

Life has been so damn weird ever since the Honkai came into my life.

I… don't even know what to say about that anymore. How many tropes do you want to throw at me, world?

Honestly, I didn't even think that all girls' schools were real. I really thought that they were something that was phased out long ago…

Might be just my ignorance, and I really should have expected this to be the case ever since finding out about the gender disparity.

Before I could answer Theresa however, I suddenly froze.

She noticed my irregularity immediately.

"Uh.. hey? What's wrong?"

I didn't answer.

Instead, I shifted my gaze towards a random area in my living room, causing my eyes to narrow.

Seeing this, Theresa's face morphed between several emotions before it ended in sharp annoyance.

Her fists clenched as she clicked her tongue.

"I apologise for this. It seems that we have a few 'friends' who want to join the conversation."

"It's fine." I waved her off. "I didn't think that these guys would try again after the last time. Guess Cocolia is feeling a bit of pressure now that you're here."

"Don't worry. I'll solve this." Theresa placed a hand on her chest. "It'll be over in a flash."

"Go ahead."

She moved her hand to the side, causing the space around her to ripple slightly.

"Judah. Get them."

A large ornamental cross immediately formed into existence. Chains sprung out from behind it, stretching out of the slightly ajar window.

It took only a few moments before several men and women were dragged into the living room, completely tied and left helpless by the chains from the cross, Judah as Theresa referred to it.

"WHAT THE FUCK???!!"

"WHAT ARE THESE?!"

"I'M NOT PAID ENOUGH FOR THIS, FFS"

Yup. Standard surprised NPC voicelines.

"Is it bad to say that I actually like this?"

Ok. Now I might need to draw the line after that.

I didn't show an outward expression regarding this, but I have to say…

That cross…

It's dangerous.

I couldn't tell how, but my instincts warned me that I should probably try not to get entangled by those chains.

But what was its power?

When I got to St. Freya, I needed to test that.

Hopefully it wasn't one of those insta-death types. That would be a pretty hard counter for adaptation.

"What the heck… does this little kid have some sort of bondage kink?"

Ahh… count on Kiana to make light of this.

"Surprisingly, the Bronya is in slight agreement with Idiotka regarding this topic. However, Idiotka needs to learn to keep her mouth shut."

"Whatchu say to me?"

"Guys… this is not the time…" Mei's exasperation came through to stop their bickering before it could go further.

Theresa wasn't in the mood of this at the moment since Kiana's words fell on deaf ears.

"Major."

Theresa called out.

"At standby." Himeko's slightly slouched back straightened.

"Place them under strict supervision and then send them to HQ."

"Understood."

"Please draft a report to be submitted as well."

That raised Himeko's eyebrow.

"Isn't that supposed to be your job?"

"I will choose not to reply to that question."

Hehe.

That was completely understandable. Have a great day.

"Sorry to burst the bubble, but there seems to be another bunch…" I suddenly cut in with a smile.

I clasped my hands and then suddenly disappeared.

Around 10 seconds or so later, I reappeared holding a guy by the back of his shirt..

Blood trailed down his forehead as his eyes were wide open in fear. No words came out of his mouth as his entire body trembled.

Theresa frowned.

"Was that… teleportation? And why is there only one? Didn't you say there was a bunch?"

I gave them a wide grin whilst I promptly ignored the first question. "You answered that question already."

"Keyword, "was""

"You… killed the rest?"

"Hey! I prefer calling it self-defence. Castle doctrine y'know?"

"Gojo." Theresa deadpanned. "Castle doctrine doesn't work that way in Japan."

"Or anywhere in the world for that matter." Himeko said after.

A look of concern filled the white haired girl as she looked at me.

And I stared right back at her.
