Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Wang Haoran's eyes flickered.

So, I can earn Villain Points just by subtly shifting the plot?

[Host: Wang Haoran]

Strength: 189

Charm: 198

(The average strength and charm value of an ordinary adult man is around 100.)

Villain Halo: 99

Villain Points: 100

[Skills:]

Driving – Proficient

Education (Academy Level) – Advanced

Hand-to-Hand Combat (Elite Level) – High

Finance Management (Basic) – Beginner

The panel clearly displayed Wang Haoran's various attributes.

Due to his superior family background, his parents had arranged for him to learn self-defense and combat training from an early age. They believed that as the heir to a wealthy family, he needed the ability to protect himself.

Not only that, but they also ensured he received training in finance management, preparing him for the future when he would eventually take over the family business.

His charm value was nearly double that of the average man.

At school, he was widely acknowledged as the most handsome boy. Even the teachers often praised his good looks and refined demeanor.

Despite this, Wang Haoran remained oblivious to the sheer number of female students who secretly admired him. Some stole glances at him during class, while others shyly avoided his gaze, too nervous to approach him directly.

Yet, he had always been indifferent to such things. After all, with his family background and looks, admiration was only natural.

"System, what does the Villain Halo represent? And is 99 considered a good value?" Wang Haoran asked.

[Answering Host: The Villain Halo is an exclusive trait of the Host, similar to how the Protagonist possesses the Protagonist's Halo. However, it is highly unlikely that the Protagonist's Halo is lower than 300. In comparison, the Host's 99 points are relatively weak. This significant gap increases the likelihood of conflict between the two.]

Damn! Wang Haoran cursed under his breath before asking, "Is there a way to increase my Villain Halo points?"

[Answering Host: The Villain Halo points can be increased by sabotaging the Protagonist's success, seizing his destiny, and winning over the female heroines—both body and soul—among other methods.]

"Winning over the heroine?"

Wang Haoran's eyes lit up. "I'll take that option!"

Feeling encouraged, he asked, "In that case, if my Villain Halo points equal or even surpass the Protagonist's, does that mean I can avoid a tragic ending?"

[Host is partially correct. If the Host's Villain Halo points match the Protagonist's, you will become the Ultimate Villain Boss, significantly reducing the chances of an early demise. However, true survival is only guaranteed if the Host's Villain Halo surpasses the Protagonist's.]

"So, even if I don't die, I'll still end up in a miserable state?" Wang Haoran's expression darkened. Feeling uneasy, he asked with a chaotic heart, "Can't I just kill the Protagonist?"

[Congratulations, Host, on achieving Villain enlightenment and discovering the most effective solution! The more the Host surpasses the Protagonist, the higher the chances of eliminating him.]

"So, it's inevitable that I'll be at odds with the Protagonist..." Wang Haoran muttered, fully grasping his fate.

[Villain Points allow the Host to obtain rewards and exchange items in the Ultimate Villain Shop, aiding in resisting the Protagonist. Additionally, the Host can analyze the attributes of the Protagonist, Heroine, and other key supporting characters.]

"A shop? Where is it? Open it now," Wang Haoran urged impatiently.

[The Ultimate Villain Shop is currently locked. It will automatically unlock once the Host accumulates 500 Villain Points.]

"Then how do I earn Villain Points?"

[Altering the plot's direction, hindering the Protagonist's success, and taking actions that benefit the Host will all yield Villain Points.]

As the system finished explaining, Wang Haoran began to grasp the mechanics of his new reality. His mind quickly turned to strategizing, already contemplating ways to manipulate the Protagonist to his advantage.

"Tell those two to come to school," Wang Haoran instructed Fan Jian.

"Eh?" Fan Jian was momentarily taken aback.

"Don't argue. Just do it," Wang Haoran cut him off before he could say anything unnecessary.

"Alright, alright." Fan Jian sighed and pulled out his phone to make the call.

A moment later, after ending the call, Fan Jian reported, "Boss, Fan Tong and Qin Shousheng are already on their way to school."

Wang Haoran nodded in acknowledgment.

With that settled, the two of them made their way across campus toward the classroom.

"Hey! If it isn't sister-in-law. Good morning!"

Fan Jian suddenly shouted, turning his head toward a nearby figure.

Wang Haoran followed his gaze and spotted a female student standing not far away.

She was tall, with long, jet-black hair cascading over her shoulders like flowing silk. Her green eyes shimmered with a quiet intensity, and her snow-white skin, set against an oval-shaped face with exquisite features, embodied a near-perfect golden ratio.

Even in the standard school uniform, her elegance and youthful charm were impossible to conceal, as if she carried a natural grace that blended seamlessly with the gentle morning breeze.

Even in a crowd, she was the kind of girl who would stand out effortlessly with just a single glance.

Her name was Xu Muyan—the undisputed school beauty and the class monitor of Wang Haoran's class.

Naturally, she was the heroine—or more precisely, one of the heroines.

After all, in an urban novel, when had a Protagonist ever settled for just one?

Xu Muyan was intelligent, beautiful, and carried herself with grace. She was the kind of girl who seemed destined to end up with someone equally exceptional. By all logical reasoning, she and Wang Haoran should have been the perfect match.

After all, there wasn't a single boy in the entire school who could compare to Wang Haoran.

How could Xu Muyan not be enchanted by him?

And yet, because of the author's predetermined plot, Xu Muyan had absolutely no interest in Wang Haoran. In fact, she even felt a slight sense of disgust toward him.

On the other hand, Wang Haoran was hopelessly devoted to her, following her around like a lovesick fool.

Why was he written this way?

He was wealthy, talented, and had the power to pursue any woman he wanted. He could have easily built his own harem if he wished.

And yet, in the original story, he had foolishly dedicated himself to Xu Muyan alone.

Worse still, as the plot progressed, Xu Muyan gradually fell for the Protagonist, completely surrendering herself to him. And when the time came, she didn't hesitate to use Wang Haoran's love against him.

Following the Protagonist's orders, she manipulated Wang Haoran and ultimately played a role in his downfall.

Even as he lay dying, betrayed and abandoned, Wang Haoran—like a true tragic villain—did not resent Xu Muyan. He still loved her, from the depths of his heart.

It was pathetic.

Damn that stone-hearted author! There was no way he was going to let that happen to himself.

Wang Haoran clenched his fists, his mind racing.

Right now, the story was still in its early stages. Xu Muyan had yet to develop any real feelings for the Protagonist. At best, they were just ordinary classmates with minor conflicts.

As expected.

Hearing Fan Jian call her Sister-in-law, Xu Muyan immediately felt both embarrassed and annoyed. A faint pink hue spread across her snow-white cheeks.

Nearby students turned their heads upon hearing the commotion, their gazes filled with curiosity. Some began whispering amongst themselves, confused by the situation.

Xu Muyan was well aware that Wang Haoran's lackeys often addressed her this way.

And she hated it.

Especially here, in the middle of campus, where so many people could hear it.

Everyone in their class knew she had no such relationship with Wang Haoran. But to students from other classes, it might seem like there was something between them.

Wouldn't they start gossiping behind her back?

Her frustration flared.

"Fan Jian, stop talking nonsense! Wang Haoran and I have nothing to do with each other! Don't ever call me that again!" Xu Muyan snapped, her face burning.

Fan Jian chuckled, unfazed. "Not my fault. It's only a matter of time. Sooner or later, you'll be my Boss's woman. Might as well get used to it, right?"

"You—! I will never be involved with your boss! Stop spreading ridiculous rumors!" Xu Muyan stomped her foot, furious.

But Fan Jian only grinned wider.

"Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law!"

His voice grew louder with each repetition, drawing even more attention. More students started gathering, entertained by the spectacle.

Xu Muyan's ears turned red with anger.

"Enough!"

Wang Haoran's voice cut through the noise, sharp and commanding.

Instantly, Fan Jian fell silent.

With calm, measured steps, Wang Haoran began walking toward Xu Muyan. He stopped only when they were a meter apart, his gaze steady as he looked at her.

What is he trying to do?

Is he planning to hug me in front of everyone? Or… does he actually want to kiss me?!

A bad premonition surged through Xu Muyan's heart. Instinctively, she took a step back, her body tensing as if preparing to flee.

But before she could make her escape, she realized that Fan Jian had casually stepped into her path, blocking her way.

Her expression darkened.

Damn it!

Trapped, Xu Muyan clenched her fists, making up her mind—she wouldn't back down.

If Wang Haoran was trying to corner her, then she would just have to stand her ground and fight back!

To continue...
