The sound of gunfire filled their ears as the group of armed men pulled the trigger on a confused Ether. She crossed her arms in front of her face to block them, then she frowned.
The bullets pierced through her skin, tearing past her face and leaving scratches. Ether stood in shock as the wounds seared, then she slowly lowered her trembling hands, "How?"
"While we had you in our care, I've had the time to come up with a number of counters for you." Sigmund started calmly, spreading his hands as the armed men reloaded the guns.
Silas frowned, sweeping his gaze across the crowd. They had appeared out of nowhere, taking them by surprise and he didn't have the chance to get out of this vulnerable position.
"We have no reason to kill you, Ether. All you have to do is get rid of that fool, and then we can go back to the old times." Sigmund lowered his hands, his expression turning fierce.
Silas scoffed as he stood to his feet, releasing Peter from his grip and letting the fool fall to the ground as he rotated his shoulder. Silas heaved a calm sigh, then he cracked his neck.
Some men turned their guns in his direction, and they opened fire. Silas scoffed at their efforts, erecting walls of ice between them and blocking the bullets while Silas ran forward.
Sigmund lifted a brow at this, with his eyes twitching and hands balled into fists. After some time, he dashed forward and appeared right in front of Silas, "You are persistent one."
"Am I?" Silas slid across the ground to a halt, then he snapped his fingers to collapse all his walls of ice. He watched at they continued firing at him, but no one bullet reached Silas.
They all travelled close, turned into icicles then fell to the ground. It wasn't until all the icicles lay scattered across the ground, did the guards realise that it was useless firing Silas.
"Sweetie, get the shooters. I'll handle this guy." Silas said in a soft voice as he turned to Ether who'd been staring at him the whole time. He guessed she needed a little reassurance.
Ether nodded, then she turned to the guards and unleashed a fierce shriek. Just as Ether leapt off the ground, some armed men opened fire on her, covering repositioning comrades.
Ether roared as she landed on the ground, smashing her claws past the crates to severe the head off the man hiding behind them. Pieces of wood and ammo scattering into the air.
She frowned, blocking the bullets with her hand and ignoring the searing pain as Ether turned to the men firing at her from her left. Ether leapt, bursting across the room at them.
All their bullets were tanked by her arms as she covered her vitals and charged into the group. She bulldozed through them, bursting the men apart and sending some limbs flying.
As the pieces of the body rained to the ground, dying the floor in a gory red, Ether took a deep breath as she came to a halt only inches away from crashing into a wall, and sighed.
Silas only spared a glance at ether before Sigmund leapt across the distance and swung his arms at his face. Seeing this, Silas narrowed his eyes, then stepped to the side to dodge.
He spun around, swinging his feet from the ground in an arc across the air, smashing it into Sigmund's face. In the Absolute Zero Zone, his reaction speed was too weak for evading.
As the blow connected, there was an explosive burst of sound, and Sigmund was sent in the air and hurtling into a wall. Sigmund frowned, then he forced himself to a halt mid-air.
He came crashing to the ground, rolling to a stop inches away from the wall. Silas held a cold gaze over Sigmund as the short haired man staggered to his feet with flaring nostrils.
"Oh, are you mad?" Silas scoffed, then he reached out his right hand. The guns dropped by all those killed men started levitating, forming a ring around Sigmund, "A tiny fuse, eh?"
All the guns' triggers were pulled by an invisible force, spraying what remaining bullets they had at Sigmund. Sigmund took a trembling breath as he raised his hand, then he froze.
All the bullets followed, halting just before they reached him. In an instant, they started vibrating, then they all blew up along with the guns. Sigmund frowned, "You have no idea."
Sigmund dashed towards him, then slammed his palm into the ground. Silas didn't give him to chance to show his skills before jumping into the air and away from his firing range.
The floor, in a straight line from where Sigmund touched the ground, tore up as flames erupted from the earth. Seeing Silas land back at the stairs, Sigmund raised a brow, "Huh?"
"You really didn't think I'd stand and take that, did you?" Silas chuckled, then he stood and observed Sigmund. In this position, he was ready to escape if he's presented the chance.
"Nuclear Combustion is one of the most dangerous superpowers and its secondary stage which I call, Fissure, is the reason for this." Sigmund explained, "I should show this to you."
Silas frowned, watching as Sigmund slammed his hand back into the ground to prove a point. He took a deep breath, then leaped into the air, thinking that he could dodge the skill.
The crack from where Sigmund stood only grew, chasing after Silas as he jumped down the stairs. Silas' eyes widened watching the stairs crack in half, from the top to the bottom.
Just as he landed at the bottom of the stairs, the fissure erupted into flames but even as he rushed back to dodge, it continued extending. Soon, the stairs melted from the high heat.
"Even with the Absolute Zero Zone?" Silas muttered, then he slammed both hands in the ground, forming a layer of ice between him and the fissure, attempting to freeze the flames.
Silas sighed as the ice melted into the fissure. Half the building remained split, and Silas watched the fissure extend even further from Sigmund, 'Is there anything I can do for this?'
