Sakuya, Miyona and Haruka were sitting on simple wooden chairs in the auditorium of the school, looking at the stage together with the rest of the students.
The walls of the hall had some simple decorations commonly used for graduation ceremonys on them, not much, but enough to create a festive atmosphere.
The last few students just hurriedly entered the hall and sat down on some free chairs.
Then, the lights on the stage were turned off and a single one fell on the lectern that had been put on the middle of the stage.
In that moment, silence overcame the audience as a girl with light-colored skin and green eyes, wearing the school uniform stepped on stage and stood behind the stage.
She was the previous student council president, who was also the representative of the third years, and the one to hold the first speech of the day.
After she cleared her throat and brushed a strand of her long white hair behind her ear with one hand, she started talking: "Under the blooming cherry trees, all of the students have come together today. For us third years today is the day we graduate from this prestigious academy. Here, we learnt many things, expierenced many things and were preapered to use our powers for good things in the outside world…."
Her speech continued for a while before ending, causing a wave of roaring applause to flow through the hall.
After a bow she left the stage and the next person, which was the teacher representative stepped forward and held a speech.
Some other people, which included some other teachers and the new student council president, said some words as well, until the event ended with the speech of the principal.
Miss Mizaki took up her post, cleared her throat and said:" All of the people who talked before me have already said everything that was important and I'm sure none of you want me to drag this ceremony out much longer, so I will keep it short. First of all, congratulations to all our third years who graduate today. I truly hope that you will keep your time in school as fun memorys and hope to see you all achieve your dreams out there in the world. I hope you will be able to think back to this day and your past three years here with a smile on your face. Once you walk out of the schoolgate today, you won't be students any longer, but instead will be adults, starting into theier new lifes. For you, today is the last day of school. And it's a new beginning all of you should try out. Of course, that also includes the current first and second years, once theier graduation has come. Mentioning that, for you as well, this will be the end of a schoolyear, allowing you to grow a bit more again. You, too, will face new challenges from now on and I hope you will learn to master them and grow from it.", she continued talking for about two minutes, before finishing up,"Thats all from me. Let's proceed with the rest of the ceremony, so that later all of us will get the chance to enjoy this beautiful spring day talents for a short while afterwards."
After her speech another round of roaring applause filled the hall, accompanied by the cheerful laughter of some students.
Most of them really liked the principal, not only because of her abilities but also because of her humor and the sense of comfort she gave people quickly, despite appearing a bit scary sometimes at first glance.
Then, the third years went up the stage and were given theier graduation certificates by the principal under another round of roaring applause, befor leaving the stage and stepping down.
Once the graduation ceremony was over, all students left the auditorium, chatting, as they walked towards the classrooms.
Outside, some bid farewell to the third years with tears in theier eyes, some with hugging each other, some with bright smiles.
The third years instead, while holding flower bouquets and theier graduation certificates in theier hands, were very cheerful, happy to have graduated, thought some tears could still be spotted, by those who said goodbye to important friends.
Sakuya, Haruka and Miyona, never really had any contact to the third years, so they left the place quietly and quickly, avoiding the groups that had formed around the most popular third years, and returned to the classroom instead.
Not long after taking theier seat there, the school bell rang and the other students of theier class also entered.
Theier teacher, Nishihara-sensei, said some words to his class, congratulated them for having finished the first schoolyear and then sended them off into the holidays with a smile.
The three friends returned to the dorms alongside most other students.
Walking through the schoolground, they saw many blooming flowers and a warm spring wind was caressing theier cheeks.
On the way, they heard some people chatting about going on a trip or returning home during the holidays.
Once back in theier room they sat down on the seat cushions around the table and looked at each other.
"None of us will return home during this one week holiday before the start of the new schoolyear on the first of April.", Miyona summarized theier situation.
Thought Haruka and Miyona had the chance to return home, they had decided to stay with Sakuya, since she had only been in the school for a few weeks and this was her first holiday.
On top of that, they still hadn't found any clues about Sakuyas identity, so they didn't want to leave theier friend alone.
Sakuya felt a bit bad for holding back her two friends, but she had been unable to change theier minds, no matter how much she tried to persuade them.
"Ah, I have buyed some cake yesterday alongside the normal stuff we need. We can use that to celebrate our graduation.", Haruka said in that moment, clapping her hands together.
the other two girls nodded, and so she stood up and took out the cake from the fridge.
It were three peaces of a delicious strawberry shortcake, that they ate in no time.
Afterwards, they all had cheered up a bit again.
"What should we do now?", Haruka asked a bit sluggish, while resting her head on her arms, which she had folded on the table.
"We could go and take a bath.", Miyona suggested,"or go for a stroll."
As answer she only got an "Mmh" from her two friends.
Despite having cheered up, none of the girls could motivate themselves to do anything right now.
All three of them had been overtaken by that kind of unmotivatedness and sluggishness that comes once the schoolyear is finally over and all you want to do is sleep and laze around, fully aware that you have only a single week before the busy schooldays starts again.
Because of that, the three of them ended up just half laying, half sitting around the table in the middle of theier room for the rest of the afternoon, taking a long nap in between and each reading a book by herself.
Sometime during sunset, theier stomachs started growling, but not even Sakuya could get herself up enough to cook a proper dinner, so she just quickly got some hot water and poured it over three bowls of instant ramen noddles.
Afterwards they went to bed straight away, just quickly changing into theier nightgowns.
As they lay in theier beds, each one of them fell asleep rather quickly despite having taken a long nap in the afternoon and not long after the only sound disrupting the silence was the one of theier peaceful, regular breaths.
