Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 Take a photo for memory

After finishing breakfast, Berloff Reed originally planned to escort Caitlin to her hospital room. However, Caitlin insisted that Berloff head to work and didn't want him to accompany her to the elevator.

Berloff was puzzled and kept asking why. Caitlin sighed softly, "Berloff, last night with you was my way of repaying a favor willingly. I have no intention of clinging to a rich man or forcing you into marriage."

"After all, giving my first time to such a handsome and outstanding guy like you is something I won't regret, even when I'm old."

"But my aunt is very materialistic. If she finds out we spent the night together, she'll definitely cause trouble."

"You should go! I'll be happy if you remember your sister Caitlin in the future."

With that, Caitlin pushed Berloff out of the elevator, turned around gracefully, and closed the elevator door.

Berloff stood there for a few seconds, then gave a mischievous smile. "Heh, Caitlin, since you're already my woman, don't think you can escape from me for the rest of your life!"Whistling, he walked leisurely towards the hospital entrance.

After leaving the hospital, Berloff headed to the street corner, pulling out his phone to call a ride to the Global Tower.

"Sir, would you like to learn about the latest properties in Silk City?"

At that moment, a young man handing out flyers approached him and handed him a few brochures.

Berloff glanced at them and thought, "Looks like I'll need to spend some money to buy a decent mansion in Silk City."

"Taking Caitlin on dates in the future, it wouldn't be ideal to always bring her to the CEO's lounge on top of the Global Tower, right?"

"Even though it spans over a thousand square feet and is as well-equipped as a luxury apartment."

"But there are too many people around, not a good place for long stays."

Ding!

Just then, a system notification sounded in Berloff Reed's mind, "Would the host like to recycle these three real estate posters?"

Berloff's eyes lit up instantly.

Wow! This system is really considerate, giving me exactly what I need!

"Recycle!"

"Rewarding the host with the Silk City Riverside Mansion No. 11!"

Holy cow!

Seeing this reward, Berloff's eyes widened with joy.

The famous Riverside Mansion No. 11, a building with a 150-year history.

Built by the French, it was long used as the Far East Embassy and was the tallest building in Silk City's history, renowned in modern history. After the French Embassy relocated, Riverside Mansion No. 11 was converted into a luxury villa estate, consistently holding the title of Silk City's most prestigious residence.

Berloff never imagined that this historically significant and highly coveted mansion would fall into his hands so easily.

Wow!

This is just too amazing!

Berloff Reed couldn't wait and hopped into a ride-share, instructing the driver to head straight to No. 11 Bund.

Upon arrival, he found himself in front of a grand mansion. A group of stylish young men and women were posing for photos under the house number plaque.

"Hey, handsome, could you help us take a group photo?"

A young woman with long, flowing hair handed her phone to Berloff with a bright smile.

Her name was Perla, a freshman at Silk City Drama Academy.

Having come from the northeast to Silk City, an international metropolis known as the "Magic City," Perla was thrilled. She had dragged her dorm mates out to explore as soon as the semester started.No. 11 Bund, known locally as the most luxurious residence in Silk City, was a must-see.

Though they couldn't go inside, taking a photo in front of the mansion's gate was still a memorable experience.

After taking selfies, Perla and her friends noticed Berloff approaching and were instantly captivated.

This handsome guy outshone even the most popular boys at the drama academy.

Bold and proactive, Perla seized the opportunity to strike up a conversation by asking Berloff for help with their photo."Sure, no problem."

Berloff casually took the phone, ready to help Perla and her friends with their group shot.

"What are you doing? Put Perla's phone down right now!"

A young man with a middle-part hairstyle and a sinister expression suddenly appeared from the side.

He was Thaddeus, a local film student from Silk City.

During the freshman orientation at the Drama Academy, Thaddeus saw Perla and was instantly captivated by her beauty. He had been relentlessly pursuing her ever since.

After two weeks of persistent effort, he finally managed to get Perla to agree to go out with him.

But just when things were looking up, Berloff Reed, a charming and handsome guy, suddenly showed up.

Not only did he manage to take photos of Perla right after meeting her, but he also seemed to get along with her instantly. Who knows what else he might do!

Thaddeus glared at Berloff, his mind racing with alarm. This guy was annoyingly handsome!

There was no way he could let this pretty boy get close to Perla!

Berloff was taken aback by the sudden outburst.

Before he could say anything, Perla was already fuming.

"Thaddeus, I asked this guy to take our picture. What's your problem?"

"I'm just protecting you!" Thaddeus retorted, standing firmly in front of her, his eyes coldly fixed on Berloff.

"Perla! You can't just hand your phone to some stranger!""If you need someone to take your picture, you should ask me."

Perla put her hands on her hips and huffed, "I can ask whoever I want! It's none of your business!"

Thaddeus looked pained, "Perla, I'm only doing this for your own good. Why can't you see that?"

"Let me tell you, with so many outsiders coming to Silk City, it's a mixed bag. You have to be careful not to get scammed!"

After saying that, Thaddeus coughed twice, raised his chin, and looked at Berloff Reed with a face full of arrogance."Kid, do you have a local Silk City household registration?"

Berloff shook his head, "No, my registration is in a remote county in the southwest."

Hearing this, Thaddeus's face twisted into a sneer.

"Hmph! So you're a country bumpkin from the southwest."

"You people should just stay in your hometown instead of coming to a first-tier city like Silk City to beg for a living."

"Look at the housing prices in Silk City. Do you think outsiders like you can afford it?"

"If I were you, I'd pack up and go back to the southwest county. Better than living in cheap rental housing in the suburbs, commuting two to three hours on the subway every day, and eating those greasy takeout meals."

Berloff chuckled, "Sorry to disappoint you, but I've already bought a house in Silk City. No need for a noble local like you to worry about me."

Thaddeus's brows furrowed, his expression turning dark, "What! I didn't expect you to have the means to buy a house in the pricey Silk City!"

"By the way, which suburb is your house in? Does the price exceed 300 dollars per square foot?"

Berloff smacked his lips and, with a smile, pointed to the address plate behind the crowd.

"Look, my house is right here."

"The housing prices here, I'm not entirely sure, but they should be just over $450 per square foot, right?"

Boom!

Berloff Reed's words hit the crowd like a thunderclap, leaving everyone stunned and speechless.

Are you kidding? The mansion at 11 Riverside Estate, the most famous luxury home in Silk City, belongs to this guy?!
