Chapter 14 - I remember the test

The room seemed to erupt in chaos, her nose bleed getting worse with every second, her left eye pulsating like there was a mighty pressure behind it and all she could smell was ashes and smoke.

She had remembered the test, she shouldn't have remembered it at all, not even in bits and pieces.

Quin was right by her side shoving tissue paper up her nose in a bid to stop the blood flow.

The temperature in the room seemed to increase like they were in a furnace.

The doctor seemed to have lost his minds, mumbling things that made no sense to either of them, and in the midst of it all she stared at Quinn.

"I remember ." She mumbled.

A deathly chill ran down Quinn's spine, she chose to ignore what she had just heard, it was impossible. Unheard of.

She busied her self with adding pressure to her nose, as she goes to get more tissues from the box besides them Liz grabs her hand.

Eyes hard and empty, nothing like Quinn had ever seen.

"I remember the test." She repeats her eyes not leaving Quinn's.

She could feel a heat spread out throughout her body, she could feel it settle in her hands, it was heavy and discomforting.

Quinn jerked away from her hold, her writs covered in a red hand print.

Elizabeth had almost burnt her.

That should not be possible.

Their eyes never left each other.

The door slammed open, letting out the hot air and the brothers rushed in, guards up.

They walked with purpose and determination as their gaze zeroed in on her.

She looked more beautiful, if that was possible, she wasn't covered in grime anymore.

Her cheeks were rosy from the heat she was creating, the front of her shirt damp from her blood.

Her eyes locked on them and they nearly stumbled over.

It's was beautiful, her phoenix eye, red and burning, it sucked them in the closer they got to her, but they had to stay strong they had things to do.

Kael stopped a few feet away from her while Aeron walked ahead, till he got to her side.

He moves Quinn to the side taking a seat infront of her instead, his blue eyes boring into hers.

She felt the hairs at the back of her head rise in warning, a snarl forming on her lips. He reeked of something, she didn't know what it was but it pissed her off.

She could smell it coming off of him, in waves, as well as the smell of the sea.

"Are you here to stare at me or what?" She snarls, sizing him up.

His eyebrows lift up slowly in shock, he had not expected that. He was releasing his royal scent, it would make anyone submit but instead it seemed to make her… pissed. Her eyes turning a darker shade of red.

Even with a bunch of tissue paper stuffed up her nose she still looked terrifying somehow.

He took note of how freely her nose bled, no clotting with hints of dark particles. It was an anomaly.

"You are going to set the building on fire and kill everyone in it if you don't stop creating so much heat."

Her snarl transformed to a frown as she looked around, wondering what heat he was talking about. Then she noticed it, the melting of the picture of a doctor in the corner, the beads of sweat on his forehead, even though he looked unbothered.

Quinn holding a cup of what used to be water but said water had evaporated.

She looked back at him, panic setting in her chest, she knew she was doing something, deep down she knew something was changing around her but she didn't know it was that bad.

Her chest hurt, her head hurt, her nose bleed continued, soaking through her tissue stuffed nose and bits of it landing on her shirt.

She took a deep breath, breathing out through her mouth but that only seemed to increase the heat.

Her eyes watered from fear, how could she stop this?

Eyes squeezed shut she mumbles "how do I stop this?"

He looks at her, a sense of pity running through him, the urge to wrap his hands around her small frame over taking him.

"Look at me." He commands voice firm, that scent not coming from him anymore.

She slowly opens her eyes, staring at his as they slowly begin to glow, faintly at first till she's staring at neon blue eyes that seem to be digging into her soul.

Slowly , she feels a chill wrap around her, creeping into her chest, it kissed her skin slowly like the waves of the ocean kissed the shore.

And she could feel it, her heart slow down, the heat leave her chest, her eyes seemed to stop pulsating, her head stopped aching and her nose seemed to feel better at well.

The more she stared at him the more she felt wrapped in him, like he was touching her when he wasn't. She leaned forward, swaying, her arms lifting up to touch him.

Before her fingers graze his cheeks she collapses in his arms.
