Chapter 93 - CHAPTER 93

Uchiha vs. One Man

In the Naruto manga, Uchiha Fugaku's strength is barely explored. Even the fact that he awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan is only briefly mentioned in Itachi Shinden: Book of Bright Light.

According to that account, Fugaku unlocked his Mangekyō after witnessing the death of his closest friend during the Third Shinobi World War. But in the years that followed, he concealed this power—even from his own clan.

Not even on the night of the Uchiha massacre did he wield his Mangekyō. The reason? It is said that Fugaku could not bear to fight his son, Itachi, and thus chose to go down without resistance.

Yet his Mangekyō Sharingan seemed to vanish from history.

Danzo never claimed it. Obito never used it. No one ever produced evidence of its abilities.

"Is that… Susanoo?"

Xu Fan stared at Uchiha Fugaku, who stood before him now—this time, not holding back.

Without hesitation, Fugaku activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. The skeletal frame of Susanoo sprang forth in an instant, bone knitting into muscle, muscle covered by skin, and then layered in thick, ethereal armor.

Boom!

In just moments, the full-bodied Susanoo erupted forth, smashing through the wooden beams of the chamber and shaking the entire foundation.

"Father…"

Itachi Uchiha froze, his Mangekyō spinning in disbelief.

He had never seen this. Not once. His father had concealed such strength all these years? No wonder Fugaku believed the Uchiha coup could succeed—even against the might of Konoha and the Nine-Tails.

Mangekyō illusions… full-body Susanoo…

Fugaku truly was the strongest of the Uchiha.

And with this hidden trump card, he could have delivered a devastating blow to the Third Hokage's regime.

"This power... isn't something you can face head-on," Itachi warned. "That's a complete Susanoo—its defense is nearly absolute. Your Wood Release can't pierce it."

In Itachi's eyes, Xu Fan had one chance: locate Susanoo's weakest point—the chakra joints—and breach it using precision, not power. The Byakugan might allow for that, but even then…

Still, Itachi tried to help.

But Xu Fan ignored him.

This chakra surge would soon attract attention—either the Third Hokage's ANBU or the Uchiha clan itself. If the latter, they might misread this battle as Fugaku initiating the coup prematurely… and in desperation, unleash the Nine-Tails on the village.

Xu Fan clenched his fists.

He'd lived in Konoha for five years now, ever since arriving in this world. He intended to become Hokage—not for glory, but to bring peace. To unify the ninja world.

"Xu Fan, show me your Mokuton," Fugaku called from atop his Susanoo, arms crossed, his voice firm.

A confrontation straight out of history: the last of the Senju's line, wielding Wood Release, facing off against the Uchiha clan's head.

It was just like before—Madara vs. Hashirama.

Fugaku narrowed his eyes. The irony was not lost on him.

Madara once sought to unite the clan under his rule, to reclaim what was taken. Fugaku did the same. Yet where Madara sought to defy the village, Fugaku only wanted peace—but peace that did not come at the Uchiha's expense.

Still, both men had been abandoned by their own people.

He glanced at Itachi—his son, his betrayer—and gave a hollow smile.

Maybe this really was the fate of the Uchiha.

"The resemblance… is uncanny," Fugaku muttered. "You're like the First Hokage… while I…"

He didn't finish the thought.

Boom!

Susanoo raised its arm. Three rotating tomoe fused into a single, spiraled shape—the blade formed in an instant, massive and glowing. Fugaku's Mangekyō pattern shimmered in the sword's core.

Then: black flames engulfed the blade.

Amaterasu.

Itachi gasped. "Father… had this power…?"

It was the first time even he had seen Fugaku's full Susanoo. And now it wielded the most dangerous flames of all.

Xu Fan's eyes narrowed. So this was Amaterasu—the inextinguishable fire. Just like Itachi's and Sasuke's Mangekyō abilities.

But this time, the stakes were different.

During his encounter with the Fourth Raikage, Xu Fan only sought to test his Zanpakutō's power.

Now, the battle would decide the fate of the Uchiha—and the entire village.

Clap!

As Susanoo's flaming sword descended, Xu Fan stood firm and slammed his hands together in a seal.

"Get out of the way!" Itachi cried. "Amaterasu doesn't stop until it burns its target to ash!"

But Xu Fan ignored him.

"Wood Release: Wood Human Technique!"

The earth quaked.

From the grassy field below, a massive tree root burst forth, twisting skyward with blinding speed. It expanded, thickened, and formed arms—two colossal wooden hands rose to meet the descending blade.

Boom!

The clash shook the sky. The wooden palms caught Susanoo's sword mid-swing—Amaterasu flames licking but failing to consume the hardened bark.

Xu Fan rose with the wooden giant, lifted to meet Fugaku eye-to-eye.

Standing atop the Wooden Human's head, he now loomed equal to Susanoo.

"The legendary power of Wood Release…" Fugaku's throat tightened.

After decades…

Uchiha and Senju clashed once more.

"This time," Xu Fan said quietly, staring into Fugaku's spinning Mangekyō, "your defeat is inevitable."
