Chapter 30 - Morning Blossom

The morning light seeped through the curtains, casting a warm glow over Arthur and Nick, who were tangled together under the sheets. Arthur stirred first, his fingers instinctively reaching out to brush against the warmth of Nick's skin. He let out a dreamy hum, relaxing as he absorbed the familiar aroma of Nick—fresh, soothing, and undeniably his.

Nick shifted beside him, letting out a quiet murmur before opening one eye wide. His unruly hair fell over his forehead, and Arthur couldn't help but smile at how cute he looked—disheveled yet flawless.

"Morning," Arthur mumbled, his voice still heavy with sleep.

"Morning," Nick replied, a hesitant smile growing on his lips.

For a moment, they just lay there, staring at each other. Nick's hand found its way to Arthur's waist, drawing him closer until their noses touched.

"I can't believe you're really here," Arthur muttered, his fingers tracing circles over Nick's exposed chest.

Nick smirked. "Believe it, because I'm not going anywhere."

A wave of warmth swept through Arthur, so profound it made his heart ache. "Good. Because I'm keeping you right here."

Nick chuckled, his voice still hoarse from sleep. "Is that so?"

Arthur nodded and pressed a sweet, lingering kiss on Nick's lips. Nick responded quickly, tightening his arms around Arthur's body, deepening the kiss until Arthur found himself breathless.

Nick pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against Arthur's. "We should probably get up."

Arthur whimpered, burying his face in Nick's neck. "Or we could just stay in bed all day."

Nick laughed, brushing his fingers through Arthur's hair. "Tempting, but don't we have something important to do today?"

Arthur glanced at him in confusion.

Nick smirked. "We're getting a new place, remember?"

Arthur's eyes widened, and then a gradual smile spread across his face. "You're really serious about that?"

Nick cupped his cheek, his thumb gliding over Arthur's skin. "I want us to have a fresh start. Somewhere that's just ours."

Arthur's heart filled with happiness. "Then let's do it."

After a brief breakfast—Nick snatching bits from Arthur's toast, much to his annoyance—they spent the morning browsing listings for apartments.

"I want a big kitchen," Arthur mused as he scrolled through his phone.

Nick smirked. "You just want more space to make a mess."

Arthur playfully glared at him. "Excuse me? I happen to be a pretty clean cook."

Nick lifted an eyebrow. "Uh-huh. And what about that time you nearly set the toaster on fire?"

Arthur puffed out his cheeks. "That was one time!"

Nick laughed, throwing an arm around his shoulder. "Fine, fine. Big kitchen it is."

Eventually, they found a place that seemed right—spacious, modern, and filled with natural light.

As soon as they stepped inside, Arthur turned to Nick with a grin. "This is the one."

Nick pulled him close, pressing a kiss to his temple. "Then it's ours."

The next day, after signing the lease, they spent hours moving their belongings in.

Arthur was unpacking a box when Nick suddenly pulled him into a hug from behind, resting his chin on Arthur's shoulder.

"Tired?" Arthur asked, leaning into him.

Nick hummed. "Not really. Just happy."

Arthur smiled, turning in Nick's arms. "Me too."

Nick leaned down and kissed him slowly and sweetly. "Let's take a break."

Arthur smirked. "A break or an excuse to distract me?"

Nick grinned. "Both."

That evening, they decided to prepare their first meal in their new home.

Arthur stood at the stove, stirring a pot of curry, while Nick leaned against the counter, observing him with an amused expression.

"You sure you know what you're doing?" Nick teased.

Arthur shot him a glare. "Do you want to eat or not?"

Nick grinned. "Just checking."

A few minutes later, as Arthur turned to grab something from the counter, Nick crept up behind him, wrapping his arms around Arthur's waist.

Arthur yelped, "Nick! I'm cooking!"

Nick nuzzled his neck. "You're also really cute when you're focused."

Arthur sighed, trying to repress a smile. "You're impossible."

Nick smirked. "You love it."

Arthur rolled his eyes, but didn't argue.

Later that night, after dinner, they stood in the bathroom, brushing their teeth side by side.

Arthur caught Nick glancing at him in the mirror and narrowed his eyes. "What?"

Nick shrugged, with toothpaste foam at the corner of his mouth. "Nothing. Just admiring my boyfriend."

Arthur huffed, but his cheeks turned pink. "Idiot."

Nick grinned, spitting out the toothpaste before leaning in to kiss Arthur's cheek. "You're an idiot."

Arthur shook his head fondly.

After brushing their teeth, they decided to take a shower together.

Arthur stepped under the warm spray first, sighing as the water cascaded over him.

Nick followed, wrapping his arms around Arthur's waist from behind.

Arthur shivered, leaning back against Nick's chest. "You're clingy today."

Nick kissed his shoulder. "I have a lot of lost time to make up for."

Arthur turned in Nick's arms, resting his hands on Nick's chest.
