Although the increase in his attainment level was welcome, it was in the Blood Path, which he was trying not to use openly. Beyond that, however, a bit more valuable than the attainment levels themselves was the other information that Fang Yuan had gleaned from the dream realm.
The first was the construction of the Blood Chariot. Some of the gu worms that had been used were unfamiliar to him, but that was not a problem, especially with his heightened attainment level. Fang Yuan was absolutely certain that he would be able to recreate the Blood Chariot given just a few hours now.
'The Blood Sea Ancestor was truly amazing,' Fang Yuan thought to himself. After the third stage he was more convinced that the person really was the Blood Sea Ancestor now.
It was thought that the Proud Bone Demon Lord was the only person who had ever managed to use mortal gu in order to rival the effect of an Immortal Gu before. Not even the Venerables were known to have achieved that kind of result. Why was it that, though? Why couldn't the Venerables create something like that? Were they stupid?
The answer lay in a phrase that was quite popular on Earth: "necessity is the mother of invention."
Trying to create the effect of an Immortal Gu while relying only upon mortal gu was very difficult and required deep comprehension as well as experimentation, if it was even possible in the first place. It was not just about having resources to work with, since you were only trying to work with mortal gu in the first place which was a massive limitation.
However, the whole reason why the Proud Bone Demon Lord would have tried to create such a Gu House was because he lacked an Immortal Gu for himself. Otherwise, why would he have bothered? He would have just stuck with trying to make a Rank 6 Gu House instead.
The Venerables, by contrast, were people blessed by fate and had no reason to resort to something like that. They could just obtain an Immortal Gu and be done with it. Where there was no need, there was no need for them to try and create such a Gu House. Instead, they would much rather spend their time doing something else, like creating a Rank 8 or even Rank 9 Gu House, for example.
Fang Yuan could appreciate this fact by glancing at the Spring Autumn Cicada which was still sealed away. If he were a Demonic Venerable, invincible in the world, there would be no need for its effect and it would have been useless to him in that scenario. But he wasn't a Demonic Venerable, and it had saved him two times over by now. But would he have ever needed to refine it if he had the strength to simply kill whatever enemy appeared before him? Would he have bothered putting in the effort.
No.
Though that did make him wonder why it was reportedly Red Lotus Demonic Venerable's Vital Gu. Why would a Venerable require something like this, especially a Demonic Venerable at that?
Fang Yuan quickly arranged for Blood Path gu worms to appear before him as he began making a Blood Chariot for himself. With his heightened ability to think now given his Wisdom Path attainment and greater Blood Path attainment, it seemed childishly easy. He went to Yellow Treasure Heaven to order some of the Blood Path gu worms that he didn't have anonymously - there were more than enough Blood Path cultivators desperate for Immortal Essence Stones that one could get mortal Blood Path Gu easily enough on Yellow Treasure Heaven. Demand also tended to not be that high - most cultivators avoided Blood Path gu worms for a reason, and if they were Blood Path cultivators themselves they could easily rear their own stock without having to buy from others.
'It is done,' Fang Yuan thought with satisfaction, admiring the Blood Chariot that he had created. It was far better than the Dollhouse in terms of combat. 'But it is a bit crude...' With his Great Grandmaster Blood Path attainment, he saw flaws in it that he otherwise wouldn't have noticed back in the dream realm or before. Some of the gu worms were superfluous or actually held the structure back rather than increase its efficiency.
If he could spend a few more weeks freely, he could probably modify it into various different structures. Right now, it only had a Rank 6 Gu's equivalent offensive power.
But since it was made only of mortal gu, Fang Yuan could easily make several copies of it. He could make one that specialized in defense, in movement, and even refinement or healing techniques.
Yes, given enough time he could have a fleet of Blood Path Gu Houses, each that covered one of the essential aspects needed for a Gu Immortal. By pairing several Blood Chariots together, he could even launch several Rank 6-equivalent attacks at an enemy all at once. There was some cost to this given some of the gu worms needed, but had he been a Blood Path Immortal like in his previous life the cost would've been negligible - or rather, next to nothing.
Using Wills and Immortal Essence, he could use each of these chariots simultaneously. Even right now, they were not completely useless to him. His body's massive number of Human Path dao marks did not give such a Gu House any beneficial effects, but did not suppress it either. Right now, this Blood Chariot was his strongest offensive method while inside his aperture. Fang Yuan did not dare take it outside his aperture, however, on the off chance that he would be outed as a Blood Path cultivator.
But this was only part of what he had gained from the dream realm.
An even greater treasure awaited him - the location of Blood Sea Ancestor's true inheritance!
He recalled the cave in which the man had died - filled with glowing green crystals that he was sure were Millennium Emeralds, a type of Earth Path resource. He had never seen such a cave, though now he knew some of the surrounding areas around it and what it looked like, he had several clues.
He began using Wisdom Path methods to try and deduce what the answer was. He had more than enough information to reach an answer. The only question was whether or not what he had seen in the dream realm was real or a distortion - dreams weren't always one to one with reality. But assuming that it was somewhat based on a real location, he should still be able to reasonably find it.
Thoughts whirled through his mind. This was a deduction mortal killer move, Rank 5 level, that he had bought off of Yellow Treasure Heaven.
And then, inspiration struck! His deductions were successful!
'Ah, so that is where it is!' Fang Yuan realized. He had never been to the area in question, but it was indeed somewhere in the Central Continent. He had also deduced the location of the second part of the dream realm in the Southern Border as well.
Many Blood Sea Ancestor inheritances had been found, but the true inheritance was as of yet undiscovered. A Blessed Land could be as small as a grain of sand and difficult to find. Now that Fang Yuan knew its location, however, he could find it and either use methods to forcefully enter it; or wait for a tribulation to occur and then enter it.
As Fang Yuan thought of obtaining this true inheritance, he was suddenly gripped by an abject sensation of terror and loss.
What was going on?
As an Emotion Path Great Grandmaster, he knew that it was folly to ignore one's feelings. This feeling of dread... it came from trying to go to this inheritance.
Was it... a trap?!
He tried a few Wisdom Path deductions but got nowhere, likely because his methods were just not sophisticated enough or because he lacked information.
But his emotions still told him to stay away from this inheritance, even if they couldn't give him a solid reason for the same.
'Blood Sea Ancestor... could it all be a trap? Wait a moment... Luck Path is related to Giant Sun Immortal Venerable... I was only able to perfect Dream Realm Emotional Compass because of the Thought Ruler Demon Lord's inheritance... and he found the inheritance which started his journey in the Imperial Court Blessed Land... was that all really a coincidence...?' Fang Yuan thought. '...and it turns out that Blood Sea Ancestor had some foundation in the Luck Path... was he related to Giant Sun Immortal Venerable in some way...?'
The connection was tenuous, and he wasn't sure why Giant Sun Immortal Venerable would want to ensnare him in a trap. But if that was the case... he could think of one possible solution.
