Among dark and grayout bushes. Nita and Nomomo sneaking closert to a walls. Sofar, nothing managed to detect them. Two of them came closer to a spot, where a rather big crack on a wall, were calling for attention.
Nomomo - This looks like a fairly nice spot to make a distraction. Now... I think one grenade should be enough. How much ammo do you have?
Nita - I have... Twenty five shots.
Nomomo - Oh yeah... Nitro express seven zero zero... Tell me, you are carrying around double barrel rifle right? Can it use common shotgun?
Nita - Yeah it can. Why?
With a satisfied nod, Nomomo pulled out a box of shotgun shells, and threw them to Nita. Such act, caught Nita off guard, so she almost dropped box on a ground.
Nomomo - Your ammo is expensive! Use that for the time being.
Nita - Ok... While i am grateful. Did anyone tell you that i can create ammunition for myself, by myself, as long as i have enough gunpowder?
Nomomo - No... But that's not the point. Come on, we have to make distraction. This is going to be easy money for all of us. This is just Vrajagers after all.
Nita - Uhhh... Whatever you say. So... you are going to use a grenade to make a new entrance?
Nomomo - That was the plan!
Without quite nod. Nita took off rifle ffrom her shouler and loaded shotgun shells. The she came closer to a crack, and rushed into the wall. In an instant, wall crumbled and broke down into pieces, as Nita's frame collided with the wall and pushed through.
Few man who were just hanging out on the other side of the wall, playing cards on an old crate. Suddenly, a wall behind them were broken down. Pieces of concrete were flying everywhere, one of such the pieces hit a man in the head and he fell to the ground.
Nomomo - NITA YOU CRAZY DOLL!
Within a few moments, someone started shooting. Then both Nita and Nomomo opened fire in return. Whole place were then covered in chaos, gunfire and screams.
Enemy A - ALARM! ALARM! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK! THEY ARE ALREADY INSIDE!
While Nita were drawing fire to herself, Nomomo pulled pin on a grenade that she was holding all this time, and threw it as far as she could. Grenade landed somewhere under a car, that was parked near gates. Then explosion errupted, creating cloud of dark smoke and clouds of dust.
Enemy B - WEST SIDE! WEST SIDE! HOLD THEM OFF!
Someone were yelling at the top of their lungs. Few robots appeared from the building, attempting to flank Nomomo and Nita. All effort were wasted, as Nomomo were ready for a flank attack, and shot robot while it was closing distance.
A small glimpse of something dangerous was caught by Nomomo's sharp eye. She moved aside to take a cover. Then a heavy and loud sound of sniper shot ringed through the air. A bullet hit NIta right in her head. That was enough to stagger Nita for a moment and she walked behind a steel beam for cover. But Nomomo were more surprised that Nita were still standing. She rushed to Nita, thinking that she is in need of support.
Nomomo - Nita! What's your status?
Nita - I am fine! But that thing hits hard.
As to prove Nita's words. Another heavy shot landed on steel beam, tearing throught the thick metal and making a wide hole in it. Nomomo were not buying that Nita was fine, but had to rely on that overused word.
Nita - When are others done with their part?
Just as thoes words were said, a bright firework appeared on a sky. Flashes of green and yellow filled the night sky, if only for a few fleeting moments.
Nomomo - And this it our signal to get out of here! Come on, lets go!
Both dolls rushed to a broken part of a wall. Nomomo walked out just fine, Nita was shot once again in her back by a heavy shot. Much to surprise of Nomomo, Nita just staggered forward from such shot. But just suddenly as they appeared, they rushed away and disapeared.

Heavy and loud footsteps filled a bloody corridor. Bodies in different kind of mutilation were laying around. A single man were trying to crawl away. Despite the fact that he was missing a leg, and his grunts of pain were on their last bits of strength, he kept trying to crawl.
Just a moment latter, heavy boot lifted, and stomped his head, crushing skull nearly in half, and ending another life of unfortunate soldier. The patch on his uniform had four letters on it, URNC.
Then another sound filled the corridor. A radio on one of such bodies came to life and unfamiliar manly voice started saying something.
Radio (???) - Team Eagle! This is Crow! Please respond!
Heavy boots slowly followed to a sound. A radio on one of the corpses were still working.
Radio (???) - This is Eagle! We have confirmation on a twelve cargo six hundred. Just ten man. MW is among them. Seems like Rook team had some complications, we coudn't contact them after they went inside factory.
Radio (Crow) - Did anyone opened fire?
Radio (Eagle) - Yes. Last shots were few minutes ago. We wanted to check through, but we are on escort of cargo six hundred. Heading to point Alpha to drop off the cargo.
Radio (Crow) - Roger that Eagle. We will check on Rook. Keep moving cargo. Will meet you at point Alpha. Any ETA on a bird?
Radio (???) - Team Crow, This is Albatross. Bird has already landed. We are waiting for all teams before flying away. Please take caution, but hurry up, we have sights on approaching storm. Over.
Radio (Crow) - Roger that Albatross. Fifteen minutes and we will go back. Over.
Just as Radio suddenly came to life, it went silent. With nothing to hear now. A quite listener moved away from the radio, away from this mess, leaving corpses to rot.

Beda - A-a-a-a-and here comes the ELIDs... Love to see how others solve your problem.
On a faraway hill, Beda and Blaze kept looking through binoculars. A horde of ELIDs swarmed the walls, Varjagers inside had troubles from incident before, so ELIDs came unwelcomed and troubles kept piling up. As they were shooting in every direction from every gun they had, the whole place looked like a disco show. Just gunfire replaced the usual colorfull lights.
Blaze - I don't like this whole thing... Something is off.
While Beda were looking pleased while looking at the show, Blaze were having doubts.
Beda - Like what? As far as i can see, we are doing fine and they are having troubles.
Blaze - When you encounter Varjagers, they have robots, lots of guns, explosives and while they are not so smart, they usualy compensate that by throwing numbers at theur fights. And what do we have here? I barely counting twenty guns shoting.
Beda - Maybe Nomomo and Nita had too much fun shoting that they killed most of them?
Sensing something, Beda averted her gaze from powerplant and looked around. She felt relief when noticed Nomomo and Nita approaching from behind.
Beda - Oh! Hello there. How many did you guys killed?
Once again, Beda returned her attention to powerplant.
Nomomo - Not so much. Six or Seven, why?
Beda - Ahem... Blaze saying that she is sensing something off about Varjagers. Like they are not the usual Varjagers. Like... They don't have same numbers, weapons and power like usual Varjagers.
Blaze - Did anyone ever saw URNC officer command Varjagers?
Nomomo | Beda - What?
Such comment caught everyone off guard. Blaze silently gave Nomomo her binoculars.
Blaze - Look at the roof! See anything interesting?
Hastly, Beda and Nomomo looked at the roof. A man in what looked like military officer uniform were yelling at two varjager who stood on bridge below him. After yelling few words, officer pointed to direction of where wall was breached. One of Vrajager rushed to a wall, and disapeared after going down the stairs. After another set of yelling, another Varjager noded and rushed inside the building.
Nomomo - Well... I think Blaze is right... as usual. But that doesn't change anything. We still keep to our usual plan. Move in when... Blaze - You have to be kidding me! Nomomo, weren't we hired by URNC in the first place?
With frustration, Blaze inturrupted Nomomo's speech.
Nomomo - I said, this changes nothing. We were ordered to clean up this place, and it doesn't matter if who we are cleaning it from. Even if we cleaning URNC by order from URNC.
Blaze - The more i see, the more insane this world becomes.
Slowly, Blaze Pulled out her grenade launcher, and checked if it's loaded.
Nita - So... We are just going to wait here and watch how ELID kills all these people?
Despite being uneasy, Nita kept herself calm.
Beda - Nita... Sometimes, this is just the way things are. You get used to it.
Nita - I don't really want to get used to it.
Blaze - Don't know about you guys, but i... this mess is getting weird. And i have to commend Nita on this one. I don't like this either. Can we just get in and wipe them by?
For a few moments, Beda was contemplating this whole situation. Then she slowly took out her OC-129 sniper rifle from the back and checked the bullets.
Beda - I mean... The last call is for Nomomo. Either we all get to it, or nobody get to start a fight.
Everyone turned their attention to Nomomo, who was not amused, but more like frustrated. Nevertheless, Nomomo grabbed her Hawk XY10 shotgun and with a sigh, looked at powerplant.
Nomomo - So much for a being a leader! Alright. Going through the main gate would be a suicide, but it's just so happened that Me and Nita know a perfect spot to get inside. Just follow me!
With a relief, Nita and Blaze, followed Nomomo. Beda waited a few moments. Then followed the team. Everyone were tense from whole situation. Only Nita was calm for some reason.
As dolls were sneaking around, sounds of a gunfire, screams of both ELIDs and people were hanging in the air. Someone were shouting orders, someone were shouting curses in hopes of getting through the night. Another explosion happened sending a cloud of smoke in the air.
It took ten minutes for a group to sneak around and get to the breached wall. Despite that it was broked down just a few moments ago, it was already blocked by a planks, crates and metal plates.
Blaze - Ok, i can handle this. Step back everyone.
Despite the warning, Nita rammed the wall, once again sending pieces of debris flying. Blaze and Beda were caught off guard by such move.
Nomomo - Yeah, I was just as surprised when saw that. Now, here is the plan. Beda, get the stairs and get position on guard tower. Blaze, on follow me! Nita, take a charge at front row, create some space for us to work with! Come on, get to work!
The plan was set, everyone took their roles. People were taking a great defence, but were outnumbered and overpowered. Especialy once a Boojum, in a form of a giant slug with tentacles, broke down the gates, whole place were getting chaotic, and ELIDs started swarming the insides of a powerplant.
At this point, a strange sight appeared in front of Beda, who took position on a tower. A man wearing URNC soldier uniform were fighting side by side with a man wearing clothes with Varjager symbols. Everything fell in to a place.
Beda - Of course... None of thoes people are Varjagers. You're a liars and traitors. Just like all of them were! Now... I have a few idiots to protect.
A head of a ELID appeared in a cross of lense through optical sight. Slight pull of a triger, one of ELIDs were taken down. Few hundreds were to go.
In the mean time, Blaze and Nomomo jumped the fence and were running around the storehouse to a main building. Nomomo were taking run and gun term to a new level, as a group of ELIDs were dealt with easily without ever stoping.
Blaze - What about the Bojum?
Nomomo - Let's just hope that Nita will buys us enough time to take care of that.
Blaze - Wait? You just threw Nita under a bus like that? She can't even get a backup!
Nomomo - I think she can take a beating. Just trust me and her on that one! Let's get you to the roof. I will try to make small negotiation and then you will shoot that Bojum.
As Nomomo and Blaze made their way to the door of main building, more ELIDs showed up. Sudden support fire made it easied for Nomomo to make a way. Once big steel double doors were in reach, some soldier opened the door for the dolls.
Soldier - Get in here! Come on!
As both dolls made their way inside, Soldier closed the door and pushed a metal shelf agains the door. The other three soldiers hurried to point their guns at the dolls. Nomomo and Blaze slowly put their hands up. Soldier that were at the door hurried to grab at his radio from the belt.
Soldier - Captain, we got two dolls at the entrance. Any orders?
Nomomo - We are here to help. You are in need of that! Tehere is a whole Bojum out there. And unless you got some heavy weaponry, you are not getting through tonight.
Soldier - Shut up!
Then soldier again presses at the radio.
Soldier - Captain, i repeat! We got two dolls at the entrance. Any orders?
(radio) - Dolls? Are they armed? | Soldier - Yes sir! | (radio) - Put me through! | Soldier - Yes sir!
Soldier, handed radio over to Nomomo.
Capt (radio) - This is Ryazov. Captain of 2791nd Platoon of the 7th Environmental Survey Corps. Who are you and why are you here?
Nomomo - I am Nomomo. Leading Assault Unit of "Jaish Crowman Bounty Hunting Group". We were sent here by request to provide assistance for URNC in clearing out a powerplant from Varjager group.
Capt (radio) - So it was you who breached the walls? Never mind that. I guess you here to help after realizing your mistake! What is situation outside? How many ELIDs are there?
Nomomo - Approximately from three to four hundreds. But thats not the point. There is a Boojum right at the front gates if you havent noticed. Me and my teammate here need an access to a roof if you want to deal with the Boojum.
Capt (radio) - And how are you going to deal with that?
Nomomo - Captain. We both are losing time here. There are two more teammates right at the front gate trying to hold off a part of the horde, but they can't do that forever! Just grant us access to a roof and we will do the rest!
Radio went silent for a few moments. Nomomo were getting impatient. Soldeirs were trembeling, constantly taking glances from dolls to a door or a window. Somewhere from another room, sounds of pistols, rifles and shotguns could be heard.
Capt (radio) - Sergant! Lead our friends to a roof.
Sergant - Yes sir!
With a relief, Nomomo handed the radio back.
Sergant - Follow me, quick!
While Nomomo and Blaze were going through a maze of corridors, that were huge part of an powerplant. Beda and Nita were having a stand near a front gate. A rough step back to get away from a claw, point and shot. That was the last of shotgun shells that Nita had in backup.
Another ELID crawled to Nita from the back, but as he leaped forward, a sniper shot made a new hole in it's head, droping him to the ground dead. A huge tentacle took a swing at Nita in attempt to grab her. Then a heavy Nitro shot sends tentacle black, as it were caught in pain and recoils. Four more ELID advance on Nita. Switching targets, Nita shots another ELID, another were shot by Beda, but there is no time for reload and react. NIta raises her arm to defent from coming claws, the force was enough to push her back, and she uses momentum to punch another ELID to the face. That punch sent a crawler to a wall, Nita followed by kicking it in a face, and pieces of corrupted flesh and bone were sent flying.
Beda - Just a little longer! Come on!
More and more Elids were swarming. Another emptied magazine fell to floor, right next to Beda's feets and a small pile of others emptied magazines. Then another magazine were placed right to the rifle, and Beda was ready to shot once again. Just in time, as another tentacle swing managed to hit Nita, and her heavy frame was sent flying through the air and right through a storehouse wall.
Within a next few seconds, ELIDs turned their attention to Beda who were still holding up on a tower, and rushed to swarm her.
Beda - This is bad!
Despite all attempts of Beda to hold off the horde, they quickly started damaging the support beams of the tower. Few moments later, tower started leaning, then falling. Desperate for escape, Beda throwed gun belt throuth her shoulder, steped on a railing and jumped. It was enough for her to grab on a storehouse roof edge. ELID followed, trying and climb after Beda.
Nita - Not today bastards!
One shot followed another. Nita walked out of storehouse still on her own two feet. ELIDs once again changed their attention from Beda to Nita. Then a signal came to a Beda.
Beda - Nomomo! Please tell me you have a plan to kill this thing!
Nomomo - Something like that! Get Boojum to a main building, Blaze got something for that thing
Beda - Roger that! NITA! Get to the main NOW!
With these words said, Beda disconected from the call, shot few ELIDs and runned around the roof, while Nita were falling back to a cleared out space. It looked like a parking lot for trucks, except there were no truck.
Boojum were quick to follow Nita around, and get itself right to the parking lot, together with others ELIDs. Few soldiers were shoting from the roof of a main building. Their rifles were quickly going empty and empty again and again. Few soldiers were even grabbing empty magazines from the shoters, loading them with ammo and then handing them back to shoters.
Among the soldiers, Nomomo and Beda were looking out for Boojum to come closer. As a giant slug were getting closer and closer, Nomomo were getting uneasy.
Nomomo - Blaze! Are you sure this thing is going to work?
Blaze - HA! I have no idea!
With a wide smile, Blaze pointed her grenade launcher at a Boojum, then lifted barrel slightly higher and then pulled the trigger. Strange looking capsule filled with liquid flew through the air and hit Boojum right in it's body. A bright green flame appeared on Boojum, his body started to melt, forming a dark puddle. Boojum released a pained screach, but just as quickly flame appeared, flame faded and disappeared.
Sergant - Yes! It worked! Shoot again!
Blaze - Not now! I don't have anymore materials for a shot like that. This is the last one!
An evil smile were switched to disatesfied face, as Blaze aimed her grenade launcher on a Boojum and started waiting and analysing the view in front of her.
Nomomo - And what exactly are you waiting?
Blaze - I need for him to show a vulnerable spot. Either open up his burnt skin, or... shot him right in his mouth. Whatever that will be, it must hit the right spot.
An goal was set in front of them. Nomomo looked around at whole deal. Nita were fighting on a ground, swarmed by ELIDs and Boojum. Beda were shoting ELIDs one by one. Soldiers were shoting and killing ELIDs with periodic success.
Nomomo - Ah... To hell with it all! Beda, give me your grenade belt!
Blaze - Ok. Don't do anything crazy out there!
Few taps were enought to unfasten a grenade belt, even through a thick jaket, and Blaze handed over the belt to Nomomo.
Nomomo - You are the crazy one here!
With grenade belt in hand, Nomomo grabbed at the drain pipe and slided down. One ELID hurried to attacke Nomomo, thankfully Beda were quick to notice Nomomo, and shot that ELID dead.
Nomomo - Nita! Cover me for a while!Nita - Got it!
Just as NIta said that, sharp claw hit her hard. But Nita kept standing, and just punched crawler in front of her. The punch was enough for it to stagger backwards, and to be shot by one of the soldiers. It was a brief moment to finaly reload a rifle.
Meanwhile, Nomomo kept running at Boojum. The horrible monstrous slug kept flaying it's tentacles around, even hiting some of the ELIDs, but Nomomo were pushing forward, a swift step to the side and a tentacle missed Nomomo just barely. Another tentacle swipe, this time horizontaly. Nomomo slided under it, then jumped to her feet. She was finaly close enough and pulled few of the pins on a grenades, then throwed whole belt at the Boojum burnt skin.
There was a little time for Boojum to react or for Nomomo to run away far enough, so a giant explosion hit both of them. Nomomo were thrown to a ground with most of her modules in need for recalibration. Boojum on the other hand, were filled with pain. And started screaming as loud as it possibly can, wringling side to side violently, hitting it's own head, or rather just the mouth, against the ground or a walls around itself. Tentacles started writhering in the air, even more ELIDs were caught it's outrage.
On a roof, Blaze slowly were swaying her gun from side to the side, following the movement of that creature's mouth. Her finger were waiting for a perfect moment.
Blaze - Bye... Bye... Sleep... With... Swine!
Finaly, Blaze pulled the trigger. A capsule with chemicals were sent flying through the air, passing by through all tentacles, and finaly hitting the horrible mouth of oversized slug. The chemical spilled right inside the boojum and set it on fire with a green flame. Once again, pained screach swinging it's tentacles... and finaly fell to the ground.
Soldier - YES! The monster is dead!Soldier - We did it! We won!
Sergant - We still have to deal with the rest of a ELIDs! Get back to shoting!
Celebration were short lived. And sounds of gun shots returned just as quickly as it stopped.
ELIDs rushed to disoriented Nomomo, who were still recalibrating. Nita wasn't able to hold off everyone, as more and more ELIDs were comming from all directions. With nothing to work with, Nita grabbed Nomomo and tried to run. Unfortynatly, the circle were quicly closing.
Sergant - Keep shoting! Keep shoting!
As more orders were shouted, soldiers were getting more and more confident. And as more and more dead ELIDs were filling the parking lot. The less and less ELIDs were appearing from outside the wall.
Beda - Come one, don't just stand there! Go on! Run!
Each shot that Beda made, so far managed to hit the target. But there were too many targets to hit. And just as she reached for another magazine in her bag, she grabbed at nothing.
Beda - No way!
With trembeling hands, Beda looked inside her ammo bag and saw a horrible thing. Her ammo bag was empty. She just shot her last magazine!
Soon Nita foun herself trapped. And shoved Nomomo to a corner, then covered her with her own frame. A rain of claws rained down on a Nita's back, but she kept standing and holding. Claws made more and more scratches on Nita's frame, despite her tough frame, even she was slowly falling down under a rain of such attacks. Then something broke...

URNC soldiers were shoting and shoting. But little by a little, they were shot down untill the last of soldiers were standing. With a qick steps, doll approached, pointing her gun at the head of the last survived soldier.
Soldier - Please, no!
But his pleads fell on a deaf ear. Doll pulled the trigger and his head exploaded like a watermelon. Then doll turned around to a armored truck right behind her. A solid door were locked by a panel. But a few moments was enough to hack that door open.
??? - Ah... Never thought i would say that. But I am happy to see you Nomomo
Nomomo - And i am not happy to be here... Sam...
Inside the truck were a group of people, with cableties on their wrists. Sam and his little group slowly walked out of the truck and Nomomo helped them get out of the handcuffs
Nomomo - If it weren't for Kilmure request, i would have prefered for URNC to take you into custody.
Sam - O-o-oh our little hell fire is not taking a liking for me. But we are not that much different as you think. Even if you are doll... You see, i always get the job done, no matter what it is. Same as you, same as Kilmure. We all dance under Duval's flute. We all brothers and sisters through our bonds of fate. You just need to think harder on such things.
Nomomo - Enough of your philosophy of the damned.
With a last pair of hands finaly free, Nomomo looked around.
Nomomo - In a few minutes, one more team of URNC soldiers soon will arive here. I suggest you take that truck and get out of here.
Sam - Oh... No, no, no can do! Gentlemans, pick up a gun and get ready for an ambush! Clean up here quickly and take positions among the rubbles.
Sam's man - Yes boss!
While members of Sam's team were picking up guns and ammo from dead URNC soldiers, Nomomo stood there in disbelief and condemnation. This has to be a joke!
Nomomo - SAM! Are you going nuts? Why in the world, would you fight URNC right now? They know you are here. They are not some sort of stupid Varjagers, they are trained soldiers!
Sam - Two things little doll! Just two things! I have a little payback for my man being dead, and i would be more than happy to get more guns back to the camp, as well as that helicopter over there. And you know... we can't take a risk of them having any qlue on me or our little group.
Nomomo - Seriously? Revenge and then loot? I knew you were a mad psycho, but this is just another level. And what kind of evidence are they have on you? Nothing new! Everyone have their sights on you and Duval. EVERYONE! URNC, NOMFA, B.R.I.E.F should i go on? Because this list is as long as your death list!
Sam - It is something much more important than just a death list or any kind of URNC. We got to the big game little doll. And big game requiers for a big plays, this is just one of thoes.
Nomomo - How exactly killing URNC fits your twisted game? I didn't sign up for killing more people then it was necessary. What did they even do to you?
Sam - They did one thing for sure! They brought something i can play with, and if someone has it, i am going to take it. Survival of the fitest and stuff like that. Something you will never understand little doll. Now, take position and get ready for an ambush.
With a satisfied smirk, Sam picked up a rifle from the corpse nearby, took few magazines from ammo pouch and started pulling corpse away to hide it among the rubbles.
=== Back at the powerplant ===
An injured ELID crawler were missing a leg and tried to crawl away. But the a heavy boot stomped on it's neck. As it started screaming in pain, shotgun shot poped it's head like a watermelon. Nomomo looked around. That was the last of the ELIDs. Whole place were filled with corpses of both human and ELIDs.
With a sigh, Nomomo sent out level 2 signal.
Nomomo - It seems that was the last of them. How is Nita?
Beda - She shows signs of powering up, but nothing else so far. No reactions. I doesn't help that she has prototype system. I can't even connect to her to perfom a diagnostics.
Nomomo - Ok, just keep watching her.
Blaze - Nomomo, now that things got quite, the captain want to have a word with you. Asks for you to come in a controll room in a powerplant.
Nomomo - Yeah... i figured... Tell him i will be there in a few minutes.
Despite the prolonged battle. It was still a late night. Starry night were shining dimly through thin layer of clouds. And half dark moon were hanging in a sky, as a mocking smile for her. A joke she would never understand. Not because it was complicated joke, but because it was one of thoes joke you don't want to get used to.
But now it was not a time to think on such matters. Nomomo turned around and headed to a main building. Few robots with URNC symbols, as well as few soldiers were carrying corpses to a big pile. Pile filled with both corpses of ELIDs and humans.
After walking through maze of corridors once again, Nomomo finaly came to a controll room. Inside, an elderly man were talking loudly, but calmly, despite all of the words he was saying were nothing but a bad news for him.
Capt Ryazov - ... fourty nine are dead, eighty four is injured. I have what? Nearly two hundred man still standing? Our whole idea ended in a failure. As far as i am concerned they are not comming here. We waited here for how long? Three weeks?
WO ??? - Two weeks and five days. But yes... We are also running low on ammo and rations.
Next to a captain were standing an warrant officer. He were looking tired and exhaused.
Capt Ryazov - Thanks for the report. Tell everyone get ready to move out. We will be leaving this place in the noon. And get me HQ line.
WO ??? - Yes sir!
Finaly, both of them noticed Nomomo standing. Both man noded to eachother. Then warrant officer walked out ot the room.
