She sat staring at the chapter she wanted to write to impress him.
Writing was a very tricky thing.
One moment, you're lost in a world of adventures, and the next, you're standing behind a black wall of the curse called writer's block.
Although, writer's block is simply an illusion in the mind.
Still, she didn't want to bore this reader, so she texted him on Discord.
"Dear reader, it is me, your author."
She waited for his response.
In less than a second, he was typing, and her heart fluttered with excitement.
"Here I am, Author. To what do I owe the pleasure of your fantasy?"
"I need your help. Let's travel." She sent the text.
"Ohhhhh, where to?" he replied.
She bit her pen between her lips. "The grocery store."
---
The grocery store.
We are standing in the grocery store. You're trying to get some stuff from the counter while I'm grabbing drinks from the fridge.
I feel your stare.
So I turn back a little, it's you.
I know you. You're the guy from my science class. We exchanged pencils once. LMAO.
I'm not wearing anything super fancy, just a leather jacket and jeans.
The reader smirks. "He kinda likes what he sees."
The author smiles. "Really?"
After exchanging heated glances for a while, you take your packages and leave.
I follow behind with a cold can of beer in my hand. I toss the pay to the cashier and trail after you.
There you are, in the dark driveway, leaning against your car. I shift my balance, foot to foot, giving you a nice view of my curves.
I imagine the pull of your lips into a smirk. I take slow steps toward you.
Mind you, this is a public parking lot, but it's 11 p.m., and the store's lights go out as they close.
I'm standing in front of you now, the cool weather brushing against my skin. You take a long look at me and say,
"Permit me to say… you're fucking hot."
I arch my neck to the side. "I know," I reply in a singsong voice.
"I think you're hot too."
Our breaths are so close, yet so far.
"So what's the matter, Reader?" I place my hands on either side of you, looking into your eyes. "Are we shy now?"
Your smirk stretches into a full grin as your hands pull me by the waist, locking me against you.
"Oh hell no."
