Steven walked over to Ethan. He didn’t notice that Emma, on her way to get some dessert, had brushed past him.
"Is the steak good?"
His ghostly voice rang in Ethan's ear, startling him so much that he almost choked on his food.
He turned around to see Steven with a dark expression on his face, smiling sheepishly.
"Big Brother? What brings you here?"
As he spoke, he glanced in Emma's direction with a guilty look.
With his sharp eyes, Steven naturally noticed his glance and also looked toward Emma.
He happened to catch sight of her, who had taken some dessert and was hurrying out.
He was momentarily stunned.
‘Why does that figure look so familiar? Especially that hat, it looks so much like Alex's!’
Could it be that Ethan had snuck Alex out to play?
That should not have been the case. If Alex had not been in school, the principal would have informed him right away.
