"You, go out first." Xing Chen paused for a moment and ordered Ping Le.
Ping Le nodded and quietly left.
The large meeting room with its ultra-long table had rows upon rows of neatly arranged chairs.
Ran Xiangsi was sitting in one of those chairs, the hot water in her hand was starting to cool down slowly. She hadn't taken a sip, her gaze was somewhat empty, unfocused.
Xing Chen sighed and took the cup from her hand, placing it on the table.
"Scared?"
Ran Xiangsi silently nodded.
Given the tense situation earlier, it would be impossible not to be scared.
Seeing her dull expression, Xing Chen then smiled, his eyes filled with affection.
"I thought you were truly fearless, L.S."
He intentionally didn't call her by her real name, which made Ran Xiangsi somewhat angry and embarrassed. She quickly stood up and looked up at him.
"Aren't you scared? If we hadn't hidden quickly earlier, we'd probably be dead by now!"
For the first time, she felt so close to death.
