In front of Xiaonuan sat an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor, around sixty years old, with white hair.
The doctor wore reading glasses and held the necklace Xiaonuan gave him.
Frowning slightly, he brought the necklace to his mouth and sniffed it.
The old doctor furrowed his brows slightly and instructed the young man who was grinding herbs to bring a bowl of hot water.
The young man, whose face was dotted with acne, looked around sixteen or seventeen years old.
"Teacher, what do you need the water for?"
"This necklace seems a bit strange," the doctor said curiously.
Xia Xiaonuan's face changed color.
Her heart involuntarily started pounding.
She watched as the doctor soaked the necklace in hot water for a few seconds, then held it under his nose to sniff again, and finally licked it with his tongue.
The slightly white eyebrows furrowed deeper.
"Doctor, is there something wrong with this necklace?" Xia Xiaonuan asked anxiously.
Why did she have such a bad feeling?
