Sheng Tang received a bouquet of flowers at the entrance of the auditorium.
The flowers were blooming enthusiastically, with a card in the middle. Surprisingly, the flowers were delivered to her by the security guard from the school's mailroom.
The security guard said to Sheng Tang, "Your family sent these to you."
Sheng Tang glanced at the card.
The handwriting on the card was unfamiliar; it read, "Wishing Tangtang a successful performance."
The signature was a single character "Xu".
It was Xu Bingzhi who sent the flowers; he had found out she had a performance today.
He probably paid the guard to make an exception and deliver them for him.
Sheng Tang thanked the security guard: "Thank you for your trouble."
The security guard rode off on his electric bike and returned.
Sheng Tang held the flowers, not sure what to do with them. It seemed a shame to throw them away, but it felt awkward to carry them around.
