Chapter 52: Aiyi's Panic
Zaiyila was confused and stared at Elizabeth with a questioning gaze. She looked around the class and noticed that everyone else was also staring at her with the same puzzled expression.
"What's the matter?" she inquired.
Elizabeth blinked twice in a row. She looked at Zaiyila and gulped twice, then leaned closer to her in a secretive manner.
"What's wrong with you, Aiyi? Why are you carrying snakes inside your dress? Aren't you afraid they'll bite you?" she whispered, her voice trembling with fear. She dared not move any closer to Zaiyila.
Zaiyila frowned in confusion. "Are you perhaps talking about the snake tattoo on my shoulder? If that's what you mean, then there's no need to comment on it," she shrugged.
Elizabeth shook her head immediately. "Come on, I'm not talking about a tattoo. I didn't even see one. The snake I saw was alive—really alive! It's... it's sleeping on your chest and... and it looked completely real," she stammered.
