Chapter 48: Tension and apologies
"Are… are you sure you're both fine? You both spat—"
"My Queen!" they both interjected in alarm.
"Um... it's fine, nothing big," Everett remarked, slapping Eryx's hand away once the blood was no longer visible.
Eryx looked around and noticed that everyone was staring at them. His eyes glowed briefly, and in an instant, everything returned to normal—or rather, everyone forgot what had just occurred and resumed eating.
Elizabeth blinked several times as the spell affected her as well. She looked at Everett, who gently sat Zaiyila down, then gasped.
"You are here as well. Please sit down, sir," she offered, standing from her seat once again for Everett. To her dismay, Everett didn't even glance at her and instead settled into the seat beside Zaiyila on the left.
Elizabeth flushed with embarrassment and sat back down, glancing nervously between Eryx and Everett.
