Ronan's eyes shot to the corridor, fast, scanning for movement, anything. The gas was still thick in places, the red emergency lights barely cutting through it. Then he saw them.
Three figures stepped into view.
Men.
They didn't wear uniforms. No armor. No visible weapons. Just regular clothing—black boots, dark jeans, plain jackets. At first glance, they looked like anyone you'd pass on the street.
But that aura.
It seeped from them like a slow leak of something foul and wrong. You couldn't see it, but you felt it—something primal, something wired deep in your brain that screamed danger.
Ezren took a step back, one hand hovering near his side, the glow in his eyes returning.
"What... the hell?" he muttered, squinting. "Are those the only people the sent? I was expecting a fucking army."
On the other hand, Ronan seemed to tense up after seeing the men.
The Eradicators weren't supposed to look like this. They were science and lab enhanced humans right?
