Chapter 475: A World Similar Yet Different.
The Destruction God King of Douluo One, upon hearing his counterpart across from him dodge his question and instead ask about the current time, became even more convinced of his suspicion.
He immediately replied, "It is currently Divine Realm Year 5000. And you? What year is it in your world?"
The Destruction God King of Douluo Two responded, "Our world is in Divine Realm Year 5020."
At first glance, it seemed as though the Divine Realm had only existed for five thousand years. However, this was not how time was measured. The Divine Realm existed in a space separate from the outside world, where time flowed at vastly different speeds.
One day in the Divine Realm equaled one year in the mortal world.
Thus, if one converted Divine Realm time to mortal world time, the Divine Realm had existed for at least several million years.
"So, you are twenty years ahead of me…" The Destruction God King of Douluo One gazed at his counterpart. Aside from himself and his wife, the rest of the council had changed faces, with new individuals taking their places. He sighed, "I can't believe so much has happened in just twenty years…"
Three entire God Kings had been replaced in just twenty years an astonishing fact that filled him with deep contemplation. For the first time, he wondered if perhaps it was time for him to retire as well.
Next, both sides exchanged information and discovered that their worlds were almost identical, with only minor differences in history and development.
Overall, their similarity was over 99%.
At the same time, Douluo One's Divine Realm learned about the concept of twin worlds from Douluo Two's Divine Realm. They came to understand that the other party was not their future selves, but rather an alternate version of themselves from a parallel world.
This explanation was far easier to accept.
After all, if one were to meet their future self, it would violate the fundamental laws of time a paradox that should be impossible.
However, if this was merely a twin world scenario, it made far more sense. It also explained why the histories were similar but not identical.
Now that both sides understood each other's origins, they moved on to more pressing matters.
Since the Divine Realm Core had fused, both factions now controlled half of its authority.
This meant that resources and power had to be redistributed.
The previous division of power was no longer valid.
After all, with two universes now merged into one, the Divine Realm had gained double the resources.
Both sides, naturally, wanted a larger share.
After intense negotiations and disputes, they finally reached a compromise an even 50 50 split.
Neither side could afford to take more than the other.
However, compared to Douluo One's Divine Realm, Douluo Two's Divine Realm was severely understaffed.
This was due to a certain incident in their timeline when a mysterious being descended upon their world, causing massive destruction.
Most of their lower ranking divine officials had been wiped out, leaving only mid level and high level gods to govern.
Thus, while Douluo One had the numerical advantage, their top level powers were evenly matched.
Since both sides each had five God Kings controlling the Divine Realm Core, if a war broke out, it would be a draw.
Neither side could completely overpower the other.
Thus, for the time being, they chose to shake hands and call a truce.
But this truce was only temporary.
After all
Who would willingly share their throne with another?
Moreover, the fusion of the two Divine Realms gave rise to a dangerous thought among the God Kings.
What if they could absorb their counterpart's divine position?
Since their god titles were nearly identical, there was a high chance that if one defeated their counterpart, they could merge the two positions into one, greatly increasing their own power.
Of course
This meant first eliminating their duplicate counterpart.
Both sides understood this perfectly well.
Thus, tensions began to rise within the Divine Realm, leading to internal strife.
For now, neither side had time to concern themselves with the mortal world.
At present, their greatest enemies were not external threats, but rather the versions of themselves standing across from them.
Meanwhile, Back on Douluo Planet…
As the days passed, the inhabitants of both worlds finally discovered each other's existence.
For a while, both sides remained completely unaware of the other.
But eventually, the two civilizations inevitably crossed paths.
Soon, both factions' higher ups received reports about the "other world".
Both sides immediately dispatched scouts to investigate.
And in no time, they each gathered intelligence on their parallel counterpart.
Douluo One's leadership quickly learned about the concept of twin worlds from Douluo Two's records.
They discovered that the other world was approximately 10,000 years ahead of them in historical progression.
(At least, it would have been, had their timeline not been altered.)
But the most shocking revelation was this
In the alternate world, there was no Baiyun City Lord.
No Medicine King Sun Zhongjing.
No Sea God Neptune.
Instead, their counterparts were Tang San, Ning Rongrong, and various other unknown individuals who had risen to divinity.
This revelation left everyone in disbelief.
The idea that Tang San of all people could become a god was simply incomprehensible.
Could it be that, in the other world, Tang San was actually a decent person?
But soon
As they dug deeper into that world's records, they stumbled upon shocking information.
The other world also had a "Question and Answer" system
And it had exposed Tang San's crimes, just like in their own world.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
Tang San being a villain was unsurprising.
The man was born evil.
No one should be shocked that he had committed unspeakable atrocities.
However, they also uncovered something truly baffling.
In the alternate world, there were remnants of Baiyun City Lord's power.
His residual soul, fragments of his divine artifacts, and traces of his influence.
But… how was that possible?
Baiyun City Lord was alive and well in their world.
So, then…
Who was the Baiyun City Lord in the other world?
Could it be that he too came from a parallel universe?
This realization sent shockwaves through the leadership.
If their guess was correct
Then the number of twin universes was likely far greater than they had originally imagined.
It wasn't just one or two
There could be many, many more.
And now
For reasons unknown, these once isolated parallel universes had begun to collide and merge.
Their current fusion was only the first step.
More twin universes might soon be drawn in.
At the same time
They reconsidered the origins of Keli (Klee).
Perhaps…
She wasn't from the future at all.
But rather
She came from another twin universe altogether.
If that were the case
Then everything about her existence finally made sense.
Otherwise, her presence would create an unsolvable paradox in the timeline.
