Chapter 291: The Apocalypse of the Planet
A strange star system.
The meteor that had been transferred to this star system transformed into a flaming streak, hurtling toward the only life bearing planet in the vicinity.
This planet was entirely covered in lush greenery.
As the view zoomed in, the audience in the livestream was astonished to discover that the surface of this verdant planet was teeming with all sorts of green plants, none of which they recognized.
Moreover, this planet was inhabited by a wide variety of animals creatures they had never seen before.
But beyond the animals, there were also certain "people."
However, these beings looked quite different from what they understood as human. Their skin had a faint green hue, and two antenna like structures sprouted from their heads. They all looked nearly identical, with no discernible differences in gender. Or rather, they seemed to lack gender altogether.
Although these creatures had a humanoid appearance perhaps they could even be called "plant people" the inhabitants of Douluo Continent simply could not consider them as the same species.
[Are these what people from other worlds look like?]

On this lush green planet, the plant people remained oblivious to the impending catastrophe. They continued to toil diligently, using tools resembling hoes to cultivate peculiar plants.
Then, suddenly, the entire world seemed to turn red!
Countless plant people instinctively looked up at the sky, only to see it consumed by a vast crimson glow.
"Yame de iku iku subarashii? (Is the sun falling?)" they murmured unconsciously in an unknown language.
The meteor fell rapidly within the blink of an eye, it had already impacted the planet.
"BOOM!!!"
The descending meteor shattered the land, triggering a devastating earthquake!
Half of the planet's landmass was affected, sending shockwaves rippling outward like waves on water. Cracks, like an intricate spiderweb, spread from the impact point in all directions.
The terrifying heat melted the soil, and the audience's perspective followed the meteor as it drilled through thick layers of rock, piercing toward the planet's core.
The immense heat carried by the meteor effortlessly melted through the surrounding rock, as if it were moving through water rather than solid stone. It encountered no resistance whatsoever.
Finally, the meteor reached the planetary core.
This was a world of blazing red, filled with a molten, magma like substance.
The meteor settled into this fiery realm as if it had returned home, falling silent.
It simply lay there, soaking in the heat, as though it had just come for a bath.
Yet, even the audience knew this meteor had a purpose.
It had broken through the planet's crust to reach the core. But why?
The livestream audience, filled with questions, continued watching in silence.
The footage then switched from the planet's core back to the surface. The arrival of the meteor had already caused countless plant people to perish. The survivors, after the initial chaos subsided, cautiously approached the site of the disaster.
As they gazed at the vast, seemingly endless crater, the plant people appeared to interpret it as divine punishment. They knelt on the ground, chattering in their unknown language. Some even willingly threw themselves into the bottomless crater, choosing to end their own lives.
Time sped up.
Before long, the once scorching crater began to cool. The surrounding fissures caused by the impact also settled over time. New vegetation started to sprout.
The area that had been melted into a crater gradually became covered in greenery.
Everything seemed to be returning to normal. As if, beyond the initial disaster, the meteor had done no real harm to the planet.
But soon, the audience realized that the planet was changing.
The video suddenly transitioned to outer space, giving the audience a macroscopic view of the planet's transformation.
The once lush, green world was now slowly losing its vibrant color.
The audience soon understood why the vegetation on the planet was gradually disappearing. As time passed, the green hue faded.
[It's just the plants dying, right?]
[Did the meteor cause this?]
[This feels eerie…]
[What happens if all the plants disappear?]
[Well… then they're just gone.]
[I have a bad feeling about this…]
Time continued to pass.
One year, ten years, a hundred years…
The video played in fast forward, showing the planet's gradual decline.
The once lush green world had lost 80% of its vegetation over the centuries. The plants became scarce, revealing the planet's true earthy tones beneath. The animals and plant people suffered massive die offs due to the environmental changes.
Once 90% of the greenery had vanished, all life on the planet perished. Both the humanoids and the animals seemed to have lost something essential to their survival.
The livestream audience couldn't quite grasp what had happened, but they instinctively felt that it was all connected to that meteor.
And finally
When the last traces of green disappeared from the planet's surface, what was once a thriving, verdant world had become a barren wasteland. From above, there was no longer any sign of life. Only desolation and death remained.
But even now, the changes hadn't stopped.
The land dried out, and cracks spread across the planet's surface, as if something had drained all its essence.
Meanwhile, in the Divine Realm.
Through the divine senses attached to the newly dispatched god officer, the five God Kings who were watching the livestream instantly understood what had happened.
"The planet's core energy… is being absorbed!" The Goddess of Life gasped.
"How is that even possible?" The God of Evil furrowed his brows in shock. "How can it contain such a vast amount of energy?"
"Perhaps this is a species that roams the universe, specifically seeking out life bearing planets to parasitize and drain of energy," the God of Asura speculated.
"There's no point in just guessing. Let's keep watching," the God of Kindness suggested.
The gods nodded in agreement and refocused on the video, eager to see what would happen next.
