I turned to Sebastian, eyes wide. "What the hell are you doing? Are you trying to get us killed?"
"You told me to stop," he answered, calm and unbothered.
"I told you to stop asking Leanna about me to Leanna, okay? Leanna is my friend, and you…"
I took another breath.
"You know what? Whatever. Just do whatever."
He didn't say anything after that, but I could tell something shifted. I must have gotten to him. The easy smile was gone. His face had gone still...serious, as if something was spinning in his head. Maybe it was. I didn't care. I just didn't.
I shook my head and turned to stare out the window for the rest of the drive, letting the silence take over.
And when we got to the Blackwell estate, just as he tried to unbuckle his seatbelt, probably to get out and open my door for me, I gave him a look. A single shake of my head.
He must have caught it. Maybe he was already in a mood, too, because he didn't argue. He just stayed in his seat.
