Chapter 485 - Chapter 484: Family

Moreover, as long as he wasn't defeated, he could live forever, practically making him a living history book.

"Just enjoy your time in Konoha Village these few days. The organization will only get better in the future. If you encounter any children with great talent, feel free to absorb them and mentor them yourselves."

Kakuzu naturally understood Torifu's words. Minato and the others also understood. It meant that Yahiko and Konan were the last batch of children allowed to stay in Konoha Village. No more were needed. At this thought, Yahiko and Konan secretly rejoiced in their own good fortune.

There were currently three children still at home who needed guidance, and Torifu would be mentoring them for five, six, or even more years. If he were to have a child of his own, the teaching load would be even greater. Torifu simply didn't have the extra energy to mentor any other children. Besides, there probably weren't many particularly gifted orphans left in the Ninja World at this time. As the organization grew better in the future, it shouldn't be a problem for Kakuzu to mentor the orphans himself. After all, the guy was very capable.

Aside from being slightly less powerful than Torifu, he was just as knowledgeable, having traveled the entire Ninja World. He certainly knew more things than Torifu. Therefore, not having Torifu's guidance might not be a bad thing.

The group chatted until evening. Guests from other countries also heard about Kakuzu and spent the afternoon inquiring about who he was, but the people of Konoha Village had no idea, so they gained nothing. Aside from the Kumotsuru Clan, the only person in Konoha Village who had contact with Kakuzu was Hashirama. However, Hashirama had probably long forgotten about a mediocre assassin, so he wouldn't have paid him much attention. And no matter how much these people inquired, they wouldn't dare ask Hashirama.

Torifu definitely couldn't invite Kakuzu to dinner. Otherwise, the guests from the other nations would literally climb the walls to peek inside. As for Naori, due to tradition, she couldn't be seen until the official wedding day. Fortunately, some communication could be handled via mobile phone, so nothing would go wrong just because they couldn't see each other. The wedding dress and all the preparations had already been given to Naori. Torifu even recorded a video on how to wear the headpiece and sent it to Naori, in case she didn't know how to put on the crown and other accessories.

Naori spent these few days practicing with the maid, putting on and taking off the headpiece repeatedly to ensure perfection. After all, barring any accidents, this was the only wedding of her life, and it had to be perfect.

"Kakuzu has gone. What should we do for dinner tonight?"

Minato thought for a moment. "We'll probably have to eat at home, right? Otherwise, those foreign guests might follow us."

Torifu nodded. Minato had a point. Torifu had spent the day greeting so many guests, and the afternoon talking with Kakuzu about the future development of the organization. He was completely exhausted. Naturally, he had no energy to discuss cooperation with the other Kage. He might as well just eat at home.

"Amado, could you make dinner? I need to rest for a bit."

Amado made an OK gesture and went to the kitchen. Torifu placed a lounge chair in the center of the courtyard and lay down. From there, he could see the moon. He would have been able to see the stars too, but the streetlights were too bright.

"Phew. None of you know where the wedding venue actually is yet, do you?" Torifu suddenly brought this up out of nowhere.

This immediately piqued everyone's curiosity; even Amado, who was cooking, was interested. But Torifu, as if playing a prank, said, "You'll find out tomorrow."

"You're terrible, Big Brother! Why would you only tell us about something happening tomorrow, today? I'm going to be guessing all night!"

Torifu laughed heartily. "That's my goal! Otherwise, I wouldn't have said anything." Teasing Minato and the others made Torifu feel much better.

Tomorrow was when the staff would ascend to the Cloud Palace and begin setting up. Once the scale of the event got this large, the catering became a problem. Konoha Village did not currently have the capacity to prepare tens of thousands of servings of food in just a few hours. Therefore, Torifu's wedding could only use pre-prepared foods. Things like cake were being kept refrigerated in a container formed by Torifu's Ice Release. There would be one cake on each table, enough for ten people. Just making these cakes had kept the bakers of all Konoha Village and the Royal Capital busy for two days. Thankfully, they had Ice Release for storage. Otherwise, there wouldn't have been enough time for these preparations. There weren't any food-related items in the System Shop, either.

He figured everyone would understand. The food would just have to be make-do. They weren't required to give a gift of money either. They could send a gift if they had one, but no cash was necessary. Torifu had more than enough money to last him forever.

"Dinner's ready! Come and get your plates!" Amado called from the kitchen.

Minato, Yahiko, and Konan immediately ran toward the kitchen. They then returned, each carrying a plate. Amado followed with the rice. Torifu remained casually lying in the courtyard. Only when all the dishes were on the table did he get up and sit down.

"Mm, smells great. Amado's cooking seems to have improved again."

He spread his hands helplessly. "I can't help it. Since I always miss your mealtimes, I have to cook for myself." It was, ultimately, due to his own irregular schedule.

Minato also felt the food was especially delicious today; it tasted almost as good as what they got at the restaurants outside.

"Big Brother is getting married the day after tomorrow. Thinking about the journey to get here is quite something. I've witnessed the love between you and Sister Naori."

Yes, Amado was the earliest arrival to the Kumotsuru Clan. Torifu was only nine years old back then. Now, they were all in their twenties. Torifu was almost thirty; time had truly flown by. Minato had only been in the family for four years, and Yahiko's group had only been there for a few months. Naturally, they didn't know as much as Amado, the veteran.

But there was no denying that they were all Torifu's family. In Torifu's heart, their position was only slightly lower than Naori's.

"Haha, why don't you hurry up and find someone too, Amado? You're at that age."

Amado pondered for a moment. "We'll see. I have my own goals I'm pursuing right now. Marriage can wait."

Since Amado said so, Torifu couldn't pressure him anymore. Everything was up to Amado to manage. All Torifu could do was quietly support him. That was the meaning of family.
