Chapter 311 - Chapter 310: Old Habits

"Oh, I forgot about that. Well, since my brother said so, you can do whatever you want. But don't be too reckless. You have to be a good role model for the ninjas!"

Torifu nodded. "I know, I know. You old man, stop nagging. Let's go home and eat. I'm a little hungry."

"Alright, alright. We can talk more when we get home."

Just like that, Hashirama, Tobirama, Torifu, Naori, and the two children left the Hokage's Office and returned to the Senju clan compound. Many clan members were gathered in front of the compound, all there to congratulate Torifu. They had spent a lot of time with Torifu and knew him very well. Of course, they were all very happy and excited that Torifu had become the Hokage. They knew that Mito was already cooking, so they didn't bother Torifu too much. Each person offered their congratulations and then dispersed. Torifu thanked each of them one by one and then entered the yard.

"Sensei! Congratulations on becoming the Hokage!"

As soon as he entered the yard, Nawaki came flying at him and almost knocked Torifu over. Thankfully, Torifu reacted quickly. He dodged to the side and grabbed Nawaki before he could fall.

"You brat, are you trying to assassinate the Hokage?" Hashirama looked at his grandson in disappointment. He was already so big, but he was still so mischievous. Torifu was already destroying the Village Hidden in the Clouds at his age. But Hashirama only muttered these things to himself and never actually looked down on his grandson.

Nawaki stuck out his tongue when he heard this. "Grandpa, you're exaggerating. I was just being funny."

Torifu smiled when he heard this. "You brat, I haven't checked on your training in a few days. Have you been slacking off?"

Nawaki immediately stood up straight when he heard this. "Of course not. I've been seriously training with my sister every day."

"I can vouch for that. Nawaki has really been working hard." Tsunade came out of the house with a slight smile on her face. She had been cheering like crazy below the rooftop earlier, which made many people look at her. The image of the well-behaved young lady she had been trying to maintain had crumbled today. When she realized this, she felt a little embarrassed and hurried back to the clan compound.

Since Tsunade had vouched for him, Torifu believed what Nawaki said. "The foundation of Wood Style is in the amount of chakra you have. When you're older, I'll have your grandpa teach you Sage Mode so that your Wood Style can become even stronger."

Nawaki pouted proudly. "My chakra is at the chūnin level now, so I guess that's pretty good. And my Wood Style is already very strong. It might even be stronger than Grandpa's... Ouch, that hurts!"

Before Nawaki could finish his sentence, Torifu's hand chop landed on his head. This made Nawaki immediately squat down and hug his head, muttering about how much it hurt. When he looked up, he was met with Torifu's serious expression. "Didn't I tell you not to be arrogant? Having chūnin-level chakra is good, but you're saying your Wood Style is stronger than your grandpa's? Who gave you the courage to say that?"

"Don't you actually think your grandpa is just an old man who strolls around and plays with birds all day."

Seeing that Torifu was actually a little angry, Nawaki immediately stood up and apologized. "Sensei, I was wrong. I won't do it again."

"There are always people stronger than you. No matter what, you have to stay humble and not be arrogant, or disaster will strike sooner or later."

Torifu then used a healing jutsu on Nawaki, and the pain on his head immediately disappeared. Nawaki obediently followed behind Torifu, his expression still a little scared.

Hashirama and Tobirama looked at each other and then couldn't help but laugh. "Haha, only Torifu can control that kid."

"I know, right."

Originally, this was a very small matter. In the past, Torifu might have just said a few symbolic words and moved on, but after returning from the Land of Whirlpools, he had truly become aware of the danger again. There were enemies hidden somewhere, and there were at least two different forces. When faced with powerful and unknown enemies, the only way to protect everything you cherished was to constantly improve yourself. What's more, those people were after him, so he had to take it even more seriously. That's why Torifu knocked some sense into Nawaki today, to make sure he didn't go down the wrong path.

Hearing the noise outside, Ashina also came out of the house. "What's going on? Why aren't you all inside?" He then saw Torifu and his eyes lit up. "Oh, Torifu, what was that thing you sent into the sky just now? It scared the old man out of his wits."

"Ashina, let me tell you. That's a device Torifu made to defend against external enemies. It will make Konoha even safer."

Ashina nodded. "Oh, I see. It just shows how ignorant I am. Have ninjutsu become this massive now?"

Tobirama put his arm around Ashina's shoulder. "Alright, Ashina. Why are you thinking about it so much? Let's go inside and eat."

Ashina also nodded. "Oh, I was just asking about the principle, thinking about whether I could imitate one to use in the Land of Whirlpools. After all, what happened last time was really frightening."

Torifu understood this. Not only had the country been severely damaged, but his son had also died. Although he seemed calm on the outside, he must have been worried about his country on the inside. In any case, he had already explained the purpose of this thing to all the villagers, so there was no harm in telling Ashina about it again. So, when they entered the house and sat in the living room, Torifu explained the functions of the Cloud Palace to Ashina again.

After hearing Torifu's additions, a strange look flashed in Ashina's eyes, but it was gone in an instant. "I feel like this thing has a small flaw," Ashina said, stroking his chin in thought.

"Oh?" When he said this, everyone present was a little curious.

They then listened as Ashina continued, "Since it can only detect enemies who enter from the outside, then the spies from other countries who were sent in before will not be detected."

Torifu nodded in agreement. "That's true. But if a spy wants to send information, they must have a contact person, and they must also leave Konoha. As soon as they leave the range of the Cloud Palace, they will be detected."

"I see. That can fill this flaw."

After chatting with everyone for a while, Ashina stood up and prepared to leave, which confused Hashirama a little. "Ashina, where are you going? The food will be ready soon."

Ashina gave a forced smile and waved his hand. "I have a headache and want to go back to my room to rest. Just have Kushina bring me some rice later."

Hashirama was also a little worried. "How can you have a headache now? You were just fine a minute ago."
