Naori looked at him and smiled. "Yeah, right. You're always talking nonsense. You never wear that thing on your head usually."
"This is a jade crown. My family's elders wore it almost every day, but I think it's too much of a hassle, so I rarely wear it."
"I knew it."
The two of them smiled at each other.
Then Tobirama said, "You'll become the Third Hokage in three hours. Go get changed into the cloak first."
What Torifu called a cloak was actually more like the long robes he usually wore. He would have to take off his current clothes to put it on.
"Didn't Madam Beni say I wasn't supposed to touch the cloak?"
Tobirama put his hand on his forehead and said speechlessly, "You've already left the embroidery shop and are in the Hokage's office now. It's fine."
Torifu nodded when he heard this. He then walked to the corner, picked up the box with the cloak, and turned to leave the office. He planned to find an empty room to change in.
In the office, Tobirama was still assigning tasks. This would be one of the last few times he would give orders as the Hokage.
"Today is a very important day, so Konoha's defenses must be on point. If an enemy attacks, they must be found and reported immediately. I'll leave this to Hiruzen and Danzō. I'm sure you won't disappoint me." The two of them didn't hesitate and accepted the mission.
He then gave Kagami some miscellaneous tasks for the ceremony. After all, he used to be Tobirama's secretary, so he was good at these things. Even though Kagami was now the head of the Uchiha clan, doing these things might affect his dignity, but this was a very important moment in his good friend's life. Only he could be trusted to do these things. He also had Koharu and Homura manage the flow of people on the streets of Konoha. In any case, everyone had a task. But Tobirama didn't give Naori a task. He just told her to watch Minato.
"Is that all? I don't have a task to do?"
Tobirama shook his head. "No tasks. Just stand in front of the platform and watch Torifu."
Since that was the case, Naori could only nod in agreement.
"Alright. Then I'll take Minato to see my master first and also take Kushina with us."
"Good, go on. Torifu won't show up until the ceremony begins."
Naori pulled Minato and bowed to Tobirama, then turned and left. Naori and Minato hadn't spent much time together yet, so they were still a little unfamiliar with each other. Even though Naori was holding his hand, he was still a little nervous, and his palms were sweating.
Naori felt Minato's apprehension and said to him with a smile, "You don't have to be so scared of me. Just call me Big Sister Naori. Hasn't your Nii-san told you about me?"
Seeing Naori's kind face, Minato's nervousness lessened. "He has. He often talks about Nee-san Naori, but I haven't seen you much."
Naori smiled and patted Minato's head. "Take it slow. There will be plenty of opportunities for us to get along in the future." She then continued to walk toward the Senju clan compound.
When they arrived, they found a white-haired old man walking in the yard with a red-haired little girl.
"Ashina-sama, are you playing with Kushina?"
Ashina stroked his beard. "Just walking. The injuries from my battle with Uchiha Setsuna haven't healed yet, so I can't make any big movements."
Naori was a little confused. Ashina hadn't used any strength at all. He had been knocked out by a genjutsu on the reef. So how did he get injured? But when she saw the pained look in Kushina's eyes, Naori understood. So that was what was going on. He was purposely faking his misery to get his granddaughter's sympathy and get closer to her.
Seeing that Naori had seen through him, Ashina cleared his throat twice. "Naori, shouldn't you be helping out in the office? Why are you here? Are you looking for your master?"
Naori nodded. "Yes. I have some things to discuss with him. Also, I wanted to take Kushina to get to know Konoha. With Minato here, she probably won't be too nervous."
Ashina hadn't expected that Naori would go out of her way to take his granddaughter out. This was great. "Oh, my old body isn't doing so well, so I won't go out. It's a good thing for Kushina to go with you and watch the Hokage succession ceremony."
"Grandpa..."
"What? You don't want to go?"
Kushina hesitated for a while, but in the end, she decided to go watch the ceremony.
Naori then said, "You can have Kushina and Minato play in the yard for a bit. I'm going to go talk to my sensei for a few minutes."
"Okay, go on."
Naori bowed slightly to Ashina, then entered the house. At that moment, Hashirama was in the living room eating fruit and watching TV. He was very relaxed, but he was a little unhappy with the main character of the TV show. It was called A Legend of Hashirama, so why did the plot have nothing to do with him? It was all made up and didn't match his real experiences at all! But after watching for a while, he got a little hooked, so he just kept watching.
But as soon as Naori entered the room, Hashirama immediately changed the channel. He stood up and said with a smile, "Naori, why are you here? Is there a problem with Tobirama?"
Naori shook her head. "No, Sensei. I came to see how you and Master Mito are preparing. You can't miss a day like this, can you?"
Hashirama's face became very serious and solemn. "Of course! My disciple, whom I raised from a young age, is about to become the Hokage. How can I not go!"
"Then why are you at home watching A Legend of Hashirama! What time is it? Why haven't you changed your clothes yet?"
Hashirama waved his hand when he heard this. "Mito is in the dressing room. I can't even get in. I don't know why she has to make it such a big deal."
"Huh?" This surprised Naori a little. Mito usually didn't like to dress up, so this was an exception for her.
Just as Hashirama finished complaining, Mito came out of the dressing room. Her hairstyle hadn't changed, but she had a red long dress on, and her makeup was very refined. If someone who had never seen her before saw her, they wouldn't believe that she was a grandmother-level figure.
"What do you think, Naori? Do I look good?"
Naori was stunned at this moment and could only nod repeatedly. Because with her dress and makeup, her master Mito gave off a very elegant and noble aura from head to toe.
Mito smiled when she was recognized. "I knew it. Today is an important day for Torifu, so I have to be a little serious about it. And the next time will be when the two of you get married."
When she heard "married," Naori's face flushed. That was still a little too early for her. Just hearing it made her shy. Seeing this, Mito didn't tease Naori anymore and turned to Hashirama. "Alright, go and change. We can't be late."
